AZbeachboy Posted July 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2017 Can you get the French experience at the town around Orient beach as much as you get it at Margot. None of the excursions to Margot seems to spend much time there. I had taken a tour there one other time and they did not spend much time. This trip I want to go to Orient Beach as well but wonder if I can get the French feel there (shops, food, bakery's) that I would have to make the trip to the city. Any suggestions
navybankerteacher Posted July 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2017 Briefly: No! Orient Beach is a beach - sure, there are some French "accents" to it, but, nothing you could call "the French experience". You will be surrounded by hundreds of (largely) American beach-goers - and, aside from the clothing-optional aspect, you will get about as much "Jersey Shore" as "French" experience. Rare LHT28 Posted July 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 19, 2017 Just get a taxi to Marigot & spend as much time as you like be sure to leave lots of time to return to the port as the traffic can be bad at certain times of the day
gtaylor Posted July 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2017 AZbeachboy, Yes, you can absolutely get a taste of France at Orient Beach. Google "le Village D'Orient". It's near the center of the most developed section of the beach, kind of behind Bikini. Wrkr-QxQiN4 gary

lovevacadays Posted July 21, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 21, 2017 I don't think you can get a French feel at Orient Bay. It's beautiful but Marigot and all the sidewalk cafes, etc feel French to me. We loved Marigot. :):):)
OCruisers Posted July 21, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 21, 2017 Way more of the "French feel" in Marigot as far as food and such. :)
