Marigot vs Orient Beach

Can you get the French experience at the town around Orient beach as much as you get it at Margot. None of the excursions to Margot seems to spend much time there. I had taken a tour there one other time and they did not spend much time. This trip I want to go to Orient Beach as well but wonder if I can get the French feel there (shops, food, bakery's) that I would have to make the trip to the city. Any suggestions

Briefly: No!

Orient Beach is a beach - sure, there are some French "accents" to it, but, nothing you could call "the French experience". You will be surrounded by hundreds of (largely) American beach-goers - and, aside from the clothing-optional aspect, you will get about as much "Jersey Shore" as "French" experience.

Just get a taxi to Marigot & spend as much time as you like

be sure to leave lots of time to return to the port as the traffic can be bad at certain times of the day
