Bicycles: Which Line and/or Itinerary?

Hi, I would like any feedback on itineraries/river cruise lines you have experienced which offered bicycles on board for touring. Thanks

AMA has bikes onboard at all times on European cruises. They do have some bike tours but can also check them out to bike on your own at any time.

We did The Danube with AMAWaterways this summer and they had bikes on board for tours. There were organized tours in three ports - we did two of them and enjoyed them. They said the bikes were available for anyone to use if they weren't all reserved but all three tours were fully booked. The bike tours were done as an alternate to the city tour in those ports.

Uniworld also has bikes. Not many passengers want to ride when the weather gets chilly, but we found it delightful in November and even on the first of January in Vienna.

Tauck too has bikes on all it's European cruises. You can use them at most stops and they include a number of escorted journeys throughout the cruise.

The best river trips for bicycling are the French canal barge trips. You can pedal alongside the barge and arrive at the same time it does and get back onboard further on.

Scenic Tours has bikes that are motor assisted if you wish to use it. They have some bike tours, but you can use them in any port.

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to do some more research but definitely seeking itineraries that include guides with the bikes.
