We always use ABP. The parking is so close to the ship at City Terminal that a valet is not necessary. We don't "do" P&O so I'm not sure of Ocean terminal.

There always seems to be a 10% off coupon if you search for it on google. Obviously that's if parking wasn't included as a perk.

A second recommendation for ABP. They are not the cheapest but this parking is really close to the ship, drop off your luggage, and unlike some other arrangements, you park your car yourself and retain your keys.

Don't leave it too long to book as their Premium car park(s) close to the ship can get full. Once that happens they will book you into Shuttle Parking, where you still self-park but there's a 3-minute shuttle ride to the terminal.

BTW, we are on the same cruise...!

We've found that the valet parking company Parking4cruises excellent. Drop bags off as normal, take the car to the short term car park where it gets photographed around the outside for damage confirmation and mileage registration. Give them the keys. Give them a ring 10/15 minutes before leaving the ship when you return and the car is in the short term car park. If you disembark later the car will always be there. Retrieve the keys and load the cases and off you go.

They have been excellent value for money and cheaper than ABP and just as convenient.

It is another option but it is only £1 cheaper than ABP for this particular cruise.

If you use Parking4cruises regularly ie more than once, they will give you 10% discount, making them a bit cheaper again. I like the fact they photograph the cars so you can be sure about any possible damage, not that we've ever had a problem with them.

Several hotels offer parking options and shuttles/taxis to the ship...makes for a relaxing evening pre cruise and a stress free morning with no worries about traffic jams.

We are booked in the Holiday Inn next cruise (right next to the port) but the one after we will be considering one of the 'country house' style hotels with parking/shuttle options. Great way to see a little bit more of Britain pre or post cruise.

Just an alternative suggestion....

A second recommendation for a hotel/parking package. We've used the MacDonald Botley Park before and are using them again in a fortnight. Not sure how much parking alone is, but it's £189 for the room and breakfast, parking at the hotel for any length of cruise and the shuttle to and from the ship. There is almost always a 10% discount code for Holiday Extras or similar which brings it down to £170 or so.

It's much better to arrive the day before and not have an hassles driving or parking on the day.

APB is the "official" port parking operated by the port owner, Assoc of British Ports. As convenient & secure as you can get.

Yes, there are hotel deals. In general this is hotel carparks, not as secure as port parking, but I've never heard of a problem. Make sure that the hotel is easily walkable (eg Holiday Inn) or a cheap taxi hop to the port. Or that transfers both ways are included - particularly important for hotels that are several miles from Southampton such as milamber's Botley Park.

Meet & Greet has a dirty name throughout the UK, there have been very second-rate operators in Southampton (parking on the streets, etc). Parking4cruises is the only one with a decent reputation.

Another option is http://www.holidayextras.co.uk/southampton-port-parking.html

This is secure parking, but on the opposite side of Southampton & with a shuttle service. Reputable, but sometimes a delay with the shuttles.

Compared to ABP port parking the savings are worthwhile for a cruise of a couple of weeks or more, but not for shorter cruises

JB :)
