geosand Posted March 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2017 Wanting to book a PG cruise for this fall to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary ( yes I was a child bride;)) I have contacted PG from their website but am getting phone calls from Avoya travel. Is this the only option for booking? How do you frequent travellers book? Thanks We are not allowed to give individual TA suggestions ... As Emdee stated some use consortiums or wholesalers, some find a TA, some book direct. All I can suggest is if you use a TA who is advising you find one that has been to FP several times hopefully recently ...
Emdee Posted March 13, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 13, 2017 One way is to google luxury travel specialists. These when affiliated to the big Consortiums like Signature, Ensemble and Virtuoso are able to give you a lot. You can also ask direct questions on trip advisor which doesn't have the same rules as cruise critic.
Tahitianbigkahuna Posted March 14, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 14, 2017 That is because many of the DE's on TripAdvisor are TA's .......... giving advice and you don't even know they make their living in the travel industry. To be fair I will say most of the French Polynesia DE's are very knowledgeable and love sharing their knowledge of FP but I do feel TripAdvisor should reveal that DE's may be TA's. FlightMedic555 Posted March 14, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 14, 2017 On the PG website if you make an inquiry they will connect you with a travel agent that they have chosen. You can work with that agency, book directly with the PG or use your own travel agent. Since we cannot mention specific travel agencies here you may want to go to tripadvisor to ask similar questions. There is a private message component on tripadvisor that allows for delicate questions to be answered individually.
Cruisedreamer1 Posted March 14, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 14, 2017 Call PG cruise line's toll free number 800 848-6172. They can give you all the information you need to book and are very nice. I prefer to go through my TA since she is available via cell or email practically 24/7 for questions or concerns.
criuisingurl079 Posted April 19, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 19, 2017 The Tahiti Tourism website will list agents in your area- they require their agents to have training, a visit to FP and to have sold a certain amount of the area. This will guarantee you get someone who knows what they are talking about... ;)
Cruisedreamer1 Posted April 19, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 19, 2017 Call directly to Paul Gauguin with their 800 number and book directly. 800 848-6172. Or google luxury cruise travel agencies. Quiz the agency about how many cruises they book a year with PG and then contact PG and they will let you know if they are are major agency.
