St Kitts taxis

Hi

We're visiting St Kitts soon and need a taxi to take us to Dolphin Discovery.

Will there be taxis available near the dock or should we book one in advance?

Thanks!

There is a taxi area right before you'll enter the cruise center. We used them during both of our visits to St. Kitts. You just tell the guy at the stand where you'd like to go and he will give you a price and will get you a taxi.

Just back from St. Kitts. We had a terrible time getting a taxi. They want to stuff you in with as many others as possible to make more money. Wasted a hour trying to get a tour. Kept saying to us a taxi was on the way just a block away yet the cab wouldn't show. Then they would find another and claim if was just a block away but never showed. They keep you hanging for as long as possible to get you to settle for whatever they can scrape up. They are not organised very well.

Book transportation ahead of time.

The best place to get a taxi for a situation like yours would be to walk the short distance to the Circus and catch a taxi there at the taxi stand. All most all of the taxi/tour operators at Port Zante are more interested in you going on a tour and not in providing point to point transportation.

Thanks for the input. Can you tell me what and where the Circus is? Is it a Casino? Is it obvious from the pier?

Thanks so much.

The Circus is like the "Times Square" of Basseterre. Ask anyone and they will tell you how to get there. It is about a quarter of a mile or less from the arrivals bldg at the port. There are shops, restaurants and banks that surround the area.
