Haven perks on the Epic?

Recommended Posts

I called NCL customer service and they couldn't seem to answer this question for me, unless I told them exactly what cruise I was going on, not sure why...

Anyway I'm interested in a Mediterranean cruise on the Norwegian Epic. Thinking of booking a two bedroom Haven suite with at least three adults. Since only two of us could get the drink package, I was wondering if there's a concierge lounge where you can occasionally get a free glass of wine or a beer or something during happy hour. Apparently they have this in the solo rooms I was wondering if they had it in the Haven.

Nothing free.

Actually, there is the free rum punch in the casino at sailaway, free champagne at the art auctions. But nothing free in the Havens Lounge or the Posh Club sundeck.

I have the Haven 2 bedroom suite reserved for 4 adults in October. My DH and I have the drink package, my mom doesn't drink a lot and her friend will use the onboard credit we received. I am not too worried about it since only my DH is a big drinker. I will probably also go beers for my mom's friend too.

The drinks in the solo lounge aren't free.

There will be Haven & Suite cocktail parties where drinks are free. Also, if she is giving up her room to share, she probably would be paying less and getting all the Haven perks so can use the difference for drinks.

GatorMomInNC, in addition to the sparkling wine at the Haven sail away and art auctions you should have a bottle in your suite, and another if you have any Latitudes status. Additionally you will be invited to a VIP gathering mid-cruise with drinks and again at the possible Lattitudes gathering, but I'm not sure if they are still doing that on Epic.

I'm curious about this also, and confused. Actually, confused is my normal state of mind as a senior. My DH and I had a mini suite with balcony. We upgraded to a 2 bedroom Haven suite and invited my cousin to join us. We have the beverage package, a 3 meal dining package, shore excursion credit, internet package, and she is the 5th perk. Should she buy the beverage and dining packages so that she can enjoy the same benefits that we have?? I don't want her to feel awkward and have to charge all her drinks etc or do we all get a charge slip with taxes when we order a drink? We've never been in the Haven before so this is all new.

Also, our DD and her DH will be in a mini suite. I know they can't dine with us in the Haven, but can they enjoy a cocktail in the Haven lounge with us?

You can bring non suite/haven pax to your own suite but you cannot entertain them in the common areas, such as pool, courtyard, bar or restaurant.

That being said, I have cruised in this situation before and it is doable. You can meet up after meals, or dine with them in the MDR. It can work.

They can't eat in your suite but not use any Haven facilities. Enjoy. Don't forget to tip your butler & concierge. Your DD & DH won't be able to board with you

So we had the drink package on Celebrity, but couldn't order drinks from room service without paying. It sounds like in the Haven we can have drinks brought to our room? And room service is free? I would love to be able to order a hot breakfast from room service the mornings of excursions.

Officially services of the butler count as room service that is excluded from the UBP.

Despite that some people here have reported having ordered drinks from the butler and not having to pay for those even though the butler has advised that the drinks wouldn't be covered by UBP.

Yes, room service (for free items) is completely free of charge for full suites - you can order for example anything available for suite guests during the VIP breakfast in the restaurant even though those things are not listed in the suite breakfast card (just write down what you want if it isn't listed).

We were told on Epic last summer that our non-Haven friends could dine with us up to twice in the Haven restaurant, 35 PP upcharge for each person for each meal (price did not change whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner). We only did it once for dinner.

Yes, a certain butler who I will not name discreetly offered to bring us cocktails using our cards. We never did though.

Last week on the Breakaway, you could bring up to 4 non-Havens guests into the Havens dining room as many times as you wanted.

$35 for dinner per person

$20 for breakfast and lunch per person

Oh that's good to know as far as drinks go I guess I can just pop out of my room and walk down the hall to the epic bar and grab a drink whenever I want one right?

So another disappointing conversation with NCL customer service. Why do they talk to you like you're so stupid when you're just asking questions? I don't know why I bother I should just ask everyone here at Cruise Critic Message Boards since you all know the answers.

So my first question was whether we could have a mini bar in the Haven two bedroom family Villa emptied by the Butler so that we can just use the refrigerator and so my kids won't get into the mini bar. He told me he they can only lock it and then later when I mentioned I wanted a fridge to use for the water bottle package I was going purchase, he said, I don't know, maybe they can. Has anyone been able to do this?

From the website I had the impression that the water package discounts were because you pre-order, so I was going to pre-order, but he said the packages are the same price on the ship. This would be great as I could use my OBC. Can anyone just confirm this is true as I just don't trust the customer service anymore because…

I had called a few days ago and was told that individual people in the same room can't have different credit cards on account. My sister, who is sharing the room, wants to have her charges on her own CC. When I asked tonight he scoffed at me and said I don't know where you got that idea and I told him I called this number three days ago and someone told me that. He said no when you get to the port everyone can put down a credit card for their own individual account. Can anyone confirm this?

Finally everything I've read on Cruise Critic Message Boards, if you order the SDP and you are staying in the Haven you can have dinner from one of the specialty restaurants delivered to the room and it will count as one of your nights for the SDP, so no extra charge. He told me that's actually not true that you cannot have any food from any of the specialty restaurants delivered and counted towards one night of your package.?????

Yes you can have the mini bar empty. I have called the pre concierge and have it done. I have asked on the ship.

Yes you can use your dining credit and have the dinner delivered.

Definitely separate credit cards can be used. They always ask when DH and I cruise if we want the same or different cards.
