Yeaaa!!! Going back to Alaska

After a 6 year absence I am going back to Alaska:)......I have been

3 previous times but the last cruise there was all the way back in

Sept 2009:eek:.......I have been wanting to return and finally booked

a cruise there for May 2015:D......and the really sweet part is Celebrity

has been offering really good obc's....so I have quite a bit of credit

to use for excursions:D....happy, happy!

Hi Lois, good for you, was in Alaska back in 08, on Rcl Serenade of the Seas, now am going on Radiance in Sept and I can't wait,:) have been wantin to go, so... Maybe someday, I will cruise in May up there. The last two cruises, one was to Mexico and the pacific coastal cruise. Had looked into next Oct, on the Jewel, on another pacific coastal cruise, but Alaska has been calling me, so...

Congratulations! We have been there twice, once on the Star Princess and once on the Radiance of the Seas. We're planning to go back again but on HAL this time.

We're going back too this year. Have done 3 Alaska cruises with the last one being in 2008. We were scheduled for a back to back in 2009 but had to cancel a few days prior to departure due to a sudden illness.

Can't wait to cruise in May since all our others were in July. :D

You mentioned "May" is your favorite month for Alaska. Why?

I am sailing on May 12. This is our first time going to Alaska that early.

Was wondering why you felt that way.

Poolwife, one of my reasons is that May works well for my work schedule, usually. :) And we have been extremely fortunate with weather in May, mostly sunny and not cold (but weather is weather..... so no guarantees). Also, there's usually still snow on the mountain tops (lovely to see). And the locals are not yet burned out from the summer onslaught of tourists.

LoisR, I bet you can hardly control your excitement! (We leave on May 18th... it is finally sinking in that I have less than a month :D )

Yes...I fly to Seattle on May 7th (2 weeks from Thursday...but who's

counting?;)). Very much looking forward to it.

We fly out the same day! Getting so close now. Hope we are lucky with May weather too.

We have to wait until Duval Schools are out in June to take our Alaska vacation. We fly out of Jax on 6-14 to Fairbanks. Return trip from Vancouver 6-30. Hope you have a wonderful trip.
