bmetz34 Posted April 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 27, 2017 I'm exactly the same down to the tenth of a pound. I've been good food wise but probably too many healthy "treats" and definitely not enough water. Plus it's shark week. So hopefully the scale starts moving again soon. JJinAK Posted April 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Would love to join your group. I am fast approaching 50 and have never been in worse shape. Watching my parents face health issues has opened my eyes and has me starting to make better choices. I have a cruise coming up in June so that is motivation also :) Jules
Strophic Posted April 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 27, 2017 I had friends over this weekend and didn't count my calories. My weight remains unmoved since last week as of this morning, but I suspect at least some of it is water weight since I didn't go too crazy. @Jules, good luck with your weight loss! Have you made a MyFitnessPal account? All weight loss is accomplished by eating fewer calories than your body burns naturally. Every diet on earth (that actually works) is a system designed to make it easier to eat fewer calories than your body burns—keto, paleo, weight waters, atkins, etc. But I find for me personally the easiest thing to do is calculate my TDEE (with MyFitnessPal) and then pay attention to nutrition labels and make sure I eat at or below MyFitnessPal's daily calorie limit every day. You could probably lose 10-15 pounds by your cruise, depending on when in June it is :)
JJinAK Posted April 27, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 27, 2017 Thank you Strophic. I have started tracking my calories on MyFitnessPal. Planned on 1350 a day to start and see where I am. I have also started biking at least 3 times a week between 40 - 60 miles. I have been very athletic and active in my prior life so the activity is doable for me, I just need to push myself to actually do it!! Marine91 Posted April 28, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 28, 2017 Down another 2 lbs this week for a total of 46 down for the year and grand total of 100 down since i started my journey.
Strophic Posted April 28, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 28, 2017 Looks like I spoke too soon! Woke up this morning 1.5 lbs down from last week, now sitting at an even 215. Happy to finish off the month of April with some progress! My projection put me at 220 at the end of April, so I am 5 lbs ahead of schedule. I tried to be very conservative in my monthly weight loss goals (6 lbs/month after getting below 200) so hopefully I can continue to beat my projection. I do plan to eat everything in sight on the cruise so I am allotting 10lbs gain for that week. The more I have to spare before the onslaught, the better! shootr Posted April 28, 2017 #12 Share Posted April 28, 2017 Wow, lots of good posts! Wish I could, but ate baaad and back up 3lbs to 192. On the plus side - still in my comfort zone and 7 days and counting to Shootr's Epic UK Adventure! Picked up my funny money for some walking around cash... Oh I can't wait for 2 weeks of green, endless green! Howdy to all the new folks, and congratulations to all for keeping at it.
Strophic Posted April 28, 2017 #13 Share Posted April 28, 2017 Looks like I spoke too soon...again! So I was 215 this morning, but weighed again when I got home and the scale said 213.6! So happy. I credit drinking water throughout the day to prevent excess water retention and stave off hunger pangs.

shootr Posted April 30, 2017 #16 Share Posted April 30, 2017 where abouts are you going over here? I'm going to pick my US and Canadian dollars up on Monday! Week 1 is circling Ireland/N.Ireland, starting and ending in Dublin: Week 2 is jetting over to Edinburgh and a quick 2 days in the Scottish Highlands before taking the train to London for the rest of the week with my daughter and her husband (She's there on an engineering contract for a year). James Fox Cigars, the Royal Observatory, and Falkirk Wheel are high on my list of to-do's! (The castles, forts, abbey's, and caves will be pretty cool too lol)
red212fire212 Posted April 30, 2017 #17 Share Posted April 30, 2017 Sounds great, I live in the centre of England have never been to Scotland and only made it to Ireland (Dublin) for the first time last year.... Evil place it is, got me very VERY drunk! lol. Be warned if you are a drinker, the prices in Temple bar area are ridiculously expensive!
bmetz34 Posted April 30, 2017 #18 Share Posted April 30, 2017 after two weeks not losing, I finally hit shark week and dropped 1.8lbs! Finally broke that weight decade! I was about to go binge on crap but told myself it was probably water retention and hold on a few more days... 32lbs down! 19 to go!
