We were on the adventure twice in 2016. Different decks and cabins and as soon as we would open the cabin door the smell of mustiness was overwhelming. I'm surprised they don't get more complaints about this. Looking forward to the freedom moving to San Juan.

We were on Adventure two weeks ago, 4 cabins on deck 8, insides and balconies, and didn't have any smelly cabins, toilet issues, or any of the other maintenance issues that have been described. We found the ship to be gleaming from stem to stern.

We didn't have any toilet issues but the mustiness was overwhelming. Deck 7 and deck 10. A regular balcony and a junior suite.

Maggie, when you called down and reported it, how did they treat it?

We were in St. Kitts this past May and one of passengers that had their photo taken with one of the monkeys came down with fleas.

I think it's totally crazy to touch one. A bite or scratch and I can hear the doctor saying "did it have rabies shots?"

Thanks for the report. We leave in 1 weeks time with your same itinerary. Can't wait.

Maggie, when you called down and reported it, how did they treat it?

We told the cabin attendant. Got new pillows and bought a huge can of Lysol

We are currently on Adventure and on deck 7 Aft. No smells in the hallways and so far no toilet issues. Its is only Day 2 though. Ship looks great and staff has been excellent. Enjoy your cruise.

At the Promenade cafe they have a Ben and Jerrys and they serve starbucks coffee- it is not an actual store like other ships have

you have a small choice of coffees- and they open at 6:30 AM. In addition, you can get specialty coffees in Windjammer and MDR such as an expresso.....all included in drink package

Day 4: Antigua

Sorry it took so long to get back into this..... chalk it up to the harsh reality of vacation being over!!

For our excursion we booked Antigua Paddles. They picked us up at the port

Our group rate was $59 per person and this included transportation- We took a motorboat to the kayak base for a beautiful kayak ride- the water was so clear and blue!! We had 2 guides with us the whole time- one in the front and one in the back to ensure everyone was doing well. We stopped periodically and were shown star fish and sea urchins. He would hold them and pass them around to anyone that wanted to touch. We learned about sea turtles (didn't sea any unfortunately) and some of the plants in the area. It was very peaceful. It was the first time I kayaked and it was one of the highlights of my vacation.

After kayaking, we returned to the motorboat for a ride to a beach area. We went on a short nature hike to bird island to enjoy some amazing panoramic views. Afterwards, you could choose to stay and swim at the beach or get back into the boat for some snorkeling. The equipment was all provided and was very clean and in excellent condition. The guides showed everyone what to do and kept a good watch on the group.

Afterwards we took the boat back to the Antigua Paddling facility and enjoyed their beautiful grounds with some complimentary rum punch and homemade banana bread.

The staff were extremely friendly and professional and we all had a super day. I would highly recommend this company

We returned to the port, which took a bit longer than anticipated, as it was Carnival day. Some streets were closed, and some of the shops were closed as well. We were able to see some people in their costumes preparing for the parade. We were too tired to stick around for the main parade, but we did see a small group of people warming up for the main event, which was very interesting. We decided instead to head back to the ship. We headed for the pool for a dip and a refreshing cocktail...(or two...) and eventually got cleaned up for dinner.

After dinner we went to the ice show and it was good. I am not a big fan of shows, and often go only because many members of my group were going. The show was quite good- the skaters are very talented and perform to some great music-- Beatles, Stones etc. We spent some time in the Casino and someone in our group one $500 on the $1 slot machines!

It was a great way to end to a wonderful day!

I agree that the ship was very clean-- the issues were from our rooms, but I don't want to give the impression that our rooms were dirty. They were well maintained, but not the rooms that were renovated. The crew were well aware of the issues. There was also one instance in the MDR where we were all overcome by the same smell. It lasted for about 5 minutes and then was gone....it was very strange. We were very grateful that it was fixed.

Hopefully it will be an easy fix for them when it goes back into dry dock as otherwise it is a very beautiful ship

Just beware-- some of them are very pushy! We were all kind of distracted just getting to the port and they went right for the kids and put the monkeys on them...we did not prepare our kids for that, and it happened so fast.

Day 5 St Lucia:

We were very excited that the port issues were resolved and we were able to dock in St. Lucia. The boat docked at 9 instead of the usual 8AM- it was nice to have an extra hour to get breakfast and everyone ready to go.

We chose to do an island tour and booked Serenity Tours. Our group rate was $72 per person for a full day tour, and we absolutely loved every minute of it! Our driver was Hans and he was the best!!

Highlight of our tour:

• Cathedral stop- I believe it was the oldest church on the island and was very beautiful.
  
• a banana plantation- learned how bananas grow- got to try a banana which was very good! We stopped at a local shop for some tastings of hot sauces, BBQ sauces and banana ketchup and banana chips.....all of which were for sale of course
  
• Maranatha botanical garden- very scenic and peacful
  
• Creole style buffet lunch overlooking the Pitons the Piton mountains were amazingly beautiful. The lunch was included in our fee and we had a private area of a covered porch to eat with a view of the mountains.
  
• Visiting Soufriere Volcano- they have a mineral bath there- You get into a small pool of the hottest water you can imagine and then they have buckets of mud from the volcano to "bathe" in . This is a very popular tourist attraction and was very crowded when we were there. The mud baths are believed by some to help with medical issues as well as make you look 10 years younger-- that is all we needed to hear to give it a try!! (just wish it could have taken 10 pounds off as well!!
  
• After your are coated in mud we went to a nearby waterfall and were able to rinse off in the refreshing water.
  
• We then ended our tour with a stop to a rum distillery and were able to sample about 15 different types of rum
  

We all enjoyed our day tremendously- We were able to see alot of the beautiful island, met some nice people, and tasted some of the local cuisine.

We returned to the ship and got cleaned up for dinner in the MDR. It was 70's night, but no one really dressed up. After dinner, went to the comedian show. Afterwards we visited some bars and got ready for the disco party. This was alot of fun. Great music and dancing.
