Transfered Booking

In what ways do you mean by "manage your account"? You definitely can book excursions, restaurants and anything else on the HAL website. If you mean to take advantage of price drops or cabin changes, that you would do through the travel agency.

We have transferred numerous cruises to them and have always been happy. :)

If I transfer right now, I am gaining a shipboard credit of $235, nothing is changed. Still get the early booking beverage package and included Pinnacle Grill for two..... Now if I waited till close to final payment, I could go for the reduced price which is currently $400 less, but the deposit is non refundable. Still a ship board credit, though $190.

Do Alaska cruises typically go up in price for mid August?

The only thing you can't do on the Hal website is make a payment but you can make payments online through the Costco website and I'm sure many other Travel agent sites.

Still the same access for dining, tours, booking spa appointments.

If you wanted to change something about the cruise though you'd have to call the agent.

We have a similar situation where we transferred our booking with SBP and PG (E4 promo) to our big box TA today, for a sailing in late 2018.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but regarding the reduced price (which is less for our booking now too); if we went for the reduced price, we would lose the SBP and PG dinner promos in exchange for the reduced fare. It's just a matter of crunching the numbers, and seeing which is the better value for you I guess.
