We are taking a cruise right after xmas (27) so we have decided that it will be everyone's big present this year. But we will still do stockings. I have 2 teenage girls, which their stocking stuffers are quite easy. But I'm having a hard time for ideas for a 9yr old boy. So far I have a m underwater camera and a journal. I'm stuck on more ideas! Thanks!

Goggles, flip flops, football he can play in the ocean with (plastic type one), rash guard, swimming trunks. My boys are 10 and 11 and even still like the cheap inflatable pool toys. Blow them up the day you are in port. Play with it in the ocean. Throw it away before getting back on ship or give it to someone at the beach when you leave. 😊

Consider stuffing a stocking for him with lots of crumbled up $1.00 bills and some $5.00 bills so he'll have "walking around" money on your ports of call. ;)

Do the kids still play those video machines that eat up $$? If any ship will have them, I imagine an RCI one will. The idea of $$ is great. :)

I think the machines use the SS card How about a Carnival gift card that can be applied to his SS card?

Wow! There are some great ideas here. I was thinking that between the dollar bills and the cards for soda and onboard spending you may spend more money on the "stocking stuffers" than what it costs to bring your 9 year old on board!!! hehehehe!!!! I hope you and your family have a wonderful cruise together!!!!!

Many years ago, I worked at NOAA in the Nautical Chart Division. I think a 9 year old might like a nautical chart of the area you are cruising. I just looked, and NOAA no longer sells them directly to the public, but you can get "print on demand" charts from other vendors or maybe a boating shop if one is handy.

Sunscreen....you can get the small ones with a clip to fasten on your belt loops.

A new ball cap for the sunny days in port.

A cool backpack with lots of pockets for storage, to use on the journey to the cruise, and even in ports.

Books for the journey, if he likes to read, or travel entertainment of whatever sort he enjoys.

Sunglasses.
