Carnival Drinks on us

I've never gotten the card on a shorter cruise. Earned 8000+ points on a 3 nighter in 2012 and no card. I asked about it in September last year on my last short cruise and was looked at like I had 3 heads. Luckily the casino host took care of me though and covered all of my drinks in the casino. So no official card any more, but if you're a gambler, you should be fine.

I know they don't have the Drink on Us program at all on the 3-4 cruises, no matter how many points you accumulate.

That is in direct conflict with my January 2015 cruise on the Triumph (4 days). I received the card prior to playing based on previous play. However, there were signs all over saying the Drinks On Us card was available once you reached X points.....and I really want to say that X was 1,500, but I am not 100% on that.

That gives me hope :) I am doing the 4day sensation on 4/19 solo, free from casino. So if I am going to get the card I need to get the points which usually isnt an issue. I know when I have done the 3day they dont give them. So fingers crossed. I am trying to avoid spending the money on the drink package.

Did you email one of the executive hosts? Whenever I go on the short ones, I email them first to see if I had enough points on my last cruise to pre-qualify for the drink card. Usually it is 5,000 points on a 7 day cruise.......hope this helps....

I did send an email, I dont think I will get anything because the cruise was free. Last summer I booked this free (well you pay 100 and get 100 OBC) and they said because of that I wasnt eligible. But it never hurts to ask :) Ill wait for the reply from them and update.

Did you send to the general casino mailbox or the executive host email? The argument is that the card is based on previous play not on the current offer/deal. Whether you had 5,000 points or more on your last cruise was not impacted by the promotion you got for this one........these were Martin's words to me in an email:

"To answer the first question: complimentary drinks on a cruise such as this is based on whether you reached the 5,000 point threshold on the cruise prior to prequalify."

I am not sure if Martin is still with CCL, but worth a shot..... :)

how long are previous points good for? we were just shy of the total needed last time around in february 2014, and are cruising again in april. would love to sit down on night 1 and end up "ahead" of my bar tab.

I am not 100% on how long they last/expire. It seems to me CCL is focused on your last cruise mainly. However, I cannot see them only basing offers on that since people may have a "down" cruise or something. Best bet is to just email and ask what, if anything, you can get.....

I think it's hit or miss. Our last Carnival 4 day cruise to Catalina/Mexico we were told based on our last cruise we'd get the Free Drink Card once onboard

We get onboard and nothings in the cabin, once in the casino I talk with the casino host n he says No I'm

Sorry on short cruises we don't give the card

Then went on to say Even if we hit 1,500+ points during this cruise we wouldn't get it 🙀🙀

We wound up just buying out drinks and booked our next cruise on NCL where I know the drink cards just one of the perks we get for sure

On a side note ALWAYS get anything Oceans Players Club says in writing and bring a copy of it with you

I've watched countless people trying to get X amount of free cash they were offered only to be told Oh No u only get this amount

They tried this BS with me a few years back as well where I had a copy of the email plus the original letter that stated I was getting $1,000 cash in the casino

They tried to say I was getting some crazy amount like $25 until I brought out both letters

Then it was full apologies and a bottle of wine I the cabin later once again apologizing for the mixup

But is it really a mixup or is it Carnivals way of saving if they can

Hey if I had just said oh ok guess your right Doh I would of been out $975 dollars 🙈🙈🙀🙀

Agree on the NCL front.....I have transitioned over to them. The only Carnival ones I take now are the "free" ones that I only have to pay taxes/port fees on. Figure I'll keep taking them as long as they keep giving. :)

Here's what they told me:

I specifically asked if points expire and what the timeline is and they did not answer that but said:

"In order to pre-qualify for an On Us drinks card you must have accumulated at least 5000 points on your last cruise."

They also said:

"If you do not pre-qualify you can also qualify onboard where you will need to accumulate 1500 points."

I am assuming we need to get all 1500 in the upcoming sailing, not in total.

We're not big spenders, so I'm positive neither of us have 5k (or else we would have had free drinks last time).

Though it will be GREAT if they come back to me and say "oh you have 1400 so you only have 100 to go!" (fingers crossed!

The 1500 is only on the sailing your on, it doesn't accumulate from cruise to cruise.
