printing boarding passes

Just wondering at what point after final payment is made can you print the boarding passes off?

I paid the balance 4 weeks ago but every time I try I get a message saying I can't until full payment has been received.

I asked my TA what the problem is and all she could say was " it's probably to early!"

Princess don't let you until 75 days before, does Carnival have something similar?

I know it's still early but I don't seem to be as excited about it as I normally get. I was hoping once I had those it will seem more real.....

I completed the online check as soon as I was able to,

But I was wondering if they had paid it yet.

That was one reason I wrote and asked them......

If the consensus's is I should be able to print it, I will go back and push them further about it.

You should be able to print them. I would check on my cruise detail, my billing, and see if it says you are paid in full.

Hmm that part is blank.

If I go to print an invoice each section just says "As Agreed"

So I guess either carnival haven't been paid

or

the someone has not updated the booking at their end.

I may give it a few more weeks and if still nothing i'll be back on to them to sort it out.

its normal to see as agreed on the documents if you booked through a travel agent

Now you have found out why I stopped using a TA. We had they same thing happen to us on the agency paying the cruise company. I like complete control of the process and I have not seen any benefits of a TA. I know that will draw comments but this is what I have experienced.

When you make the payment via a TA it should still show a transaction with Carnival on your credit card, if it isn't I wouldn't use that TA any more because they must be holding your funds.

My cruise is almost 200 days out still and I can print my boarding pass because my TA runs my payment directly to Carnival as they should. Granted I will have to reprint my boarding pass when I can finally sign up for a check in time as that isn't available yet for our sailing:rolleyes:

Totally agree I do like to be in control. I used to work for a local travel agent many moons ago, so I like where possible to do as much myself.

However I had a good reason for booking through them, plus I have booked others before with them without any issues.

But I was able to get a Spa balcony and flights for £200 each less than Carnival were selling just the room for.

So to me it was a no brainer to book through them.

I paid the balance by bank transfer to them not carnival so it does not show on the statement. Totally trust them as they are one of the biggest cruise specialist in this country.

Tried again today and no change so I will be getting on to them by the end of the week.

thanks for all your replies as i'm now pretty sure I should be able to just something is not in place yet to allow me to.

My TA held funds and my cruise was cancelled, luckily I logged in the day after final payment, and so got it sorted out. I wouldn't use a TA again.

To each their own. But when a good TA fixes things for you and offers $200 OBC (like on the Vista), there is no reason not to book with one.

Any TA that does NOT charge your card directly for Carnival, I would be hesitant to book with. Your card statements should all say that the payments went directly to the cruise line on the date that you had it processed.

Another thing - if this is a group booking, your cabin number will be noted as TBD on your boarding pass until after final payment. You will still see your cabin number online, but after the group is finalized by the cruise line, then you will be able to see your cabin on your documents.

I'm fully paid for my Nov cruise, but I haven't tried to print my boarding pass yet. It will likely just get lost if I print it this early, leading me to reprint it closer to my sail date. When I did make my final payment, I believe (and I could be mistaken here) that my TA cautioned that I may not be able to print my boarding passes until after the final payment date because I booked into a group and others in the group still had outstanding balances.

I had emailed them about it and yesterday got a reply.

I was assured the balance had been paid to them - Although I would have liked to have been told Carnival had been paid.

I was then told that as I had booked through them a package "they" would be printing off transfer details, boarding passes flight log in details etc for me. And that I would get those 2-3 weeks before we sailed!!!

Not impressed so I told her by then there would be a Freak Fest in my house, I also informed her that I had in the past worked as a TA myself - True so I did like to do as much as I could myself as I do like to be in control.

All I got back was if I had any concerns I could go back to her direct!!

I'll still keep monitoring the booking in the hope the status changes before they send them.

Oh she was good enough to reissue an invoice so I do now have proof that the Grats have been pre paid.
