NavySis Posted December 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2014 Can anyone recommend a good safe hotel for a woman traveling alone? I am thinking about staying in Houston the night before my cruise.

Langoustine Posted December 17, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2014 And is your cruise leaving from Bayport or Galveston? And how are you traveling to the port?
NavySis Posted December 18, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted December 18, 2014 I am flying into IAH. The cruise departs from bayport. I have not decided how I am getting to the pier yet. I am considering a cab.
jonbgd Posted December 19, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 19, 2014 WHat time do you get in? If it is late. I would say stay at the IAH Marriott.
TruckerDave Posted December 19, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 19, 2014 You have to give us more to work with before anybody can really give you an answer. There are plenty of "safe" hotels around IAH that have shuttles to/from the airport if you are getting in the day/night before. If it is just you, than I would look into what transportation options your cruise line offers from the airport to the ship. (A taxi will not be cheap as the airport is north of Houston and the cruise port is east of Houston (near Pasadena).) Depending on what day/time your flight home is, you can just take cruise line transportation back to IAH and home you go.
jean s Posted December 20, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 20, 2014 We stayed at the Marriott which is located right at the airport. The next day we took the cruiseline's transportation to the ship. It was very easy, safe and convenient.

Which airport? IAH (aka Bush) vs Hobby Which cruise port? Bayport vs Galveston Cruise ship and date might help, too.
calita Posted January 7, 2015 #10 Share Posted January 7, 2015 We are staying at the Hampton Inn at the Airport and then taking their shuttle back to the airport and taking the Princess shuttle to the ship. Using the Princess shuttle to get back to the airport...
SissyG Posted January 7, 2015 #11 Share Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) We're thinking of booking a Princess cruise out of Houston Bayport and would be driving down from Oklahoma. We want to find out about hotels close to the port that offer park and cruise options and also shuttles to and from the hotel to the ship. Any info from those in the know would be appreciated...We have cruised from Galveston many times before and there are several hotels that offer these options so figure that Houston Bayport would also have these services available. thx...Sissy Edited January 7, 2015 by SissyG
