That is what I was afraid of.

Who has seen the princess video on face book announcing 2017 cruising from here right around South America...... 84 nights...... Think I found our next cruise lol

That cruise sounds truly amazing.

We have cruised from Southampton to Sydney via South America and just loved the cruise. The Chilean Fjords are just stunning so we would love to do the trip again. We were tempted to do a similar trip in January 2016 but the itinerary was pretty much the same as we did in 2013 on Arcadia so this one on Sea Princess would seem to fit the bill. :)

Ocean Princess is doing a circumnavigation of South America next year just before she goes off to Oceania, but it's Fort Lauderdale return - what a shame it couldn't have been Sydney return as she is just a lovely ship.

Thanks for bringing the video to our attention Joanne. Will now check it out and start dreaming :D

Now that would be a cruise I'd be interested in. Would be wonderful if Oceania offered something similiar from Sydney. With the weakened Aus $, it is no longer attractive to fly to US to join an extended cruise.

I can already see you on Sea Princess, Joanne. Enjoy the planning. Did I miss the end of your wonderful blog from your last big adventure?

Some law / rule was passed a few years ago regarding what type of fuel the ships could / couldn't use when heading to Antarctica - so this precludes a lot of the cruise ships being able to do the scenic cruising down there - sad for cruising, but good for the environment.

HAL's Zaandam cruised to Antarctica, on their South America cruise, last season, so I guess it is a choice what type of fuel they use.

Heres a screen grab of the suggested map...

Going from Sydney it looks like .....

Sydney, Auckland ,Tahiti, Easter Island, then South America..could be General St Martin for Paracas, Coquimba, Valparaiso, Chilean Fiords, Puerto Mont , Punta Arenas , Ushaia, Cape Horn, Falklands (maybe) ,Buenos Aries ,Rio, Salvador, Recife , then Caribbean ports and Panama canal, then around to Equador and Lima, Peru , and back acrosss the Pacific to Tahiti , a couple of Pacific Island and home to Sydney.

What do you think?

Yes, plus Bay of Islands and somewhere north of the Panama Canal, like Costa Rica.

Doesn't look like they are including Cuba, which would be a big attraction for many.
