How long is the ride there from the port? Is it easy to get a taxi back?

Do you need to tell them to return for you or is there a taxi line?

Our port time isn't long (7-1) so we want to make sure we could get back easily!

Thanks!

You'll also see taxis stationed at the cruise dock offering great 2 or 3 hour island tours for very reasonable prices ($20 - 25pp). If you want to see a bit of the island and hit a beach for just an hour that's another good option. The tour offers nice views and photo ops and usually stops at Cane Garden Bay where the rum distillery is located and several beach bars. But for more beach time just hop a taxi heading to the beach.

Just a thought! ;)

How much for chairs at Brewers beach? What about umbrella?

Beds $10.00 for two. Not great quality, but serviceable.

No need for an umbrella, plenty of natural shade to top of beach.

Taxis - if wished one can book your outward taxi for a timed return. But there will be taxis available for the return trip, from the assembly point below the beach bar.

Which is a better beach Brewers or Cane Garden Bay?

We've been to Cane Garden Bay (and Virgin Gorda) so want to explorer something new if it is nice.

We ended up going to Cane Garden bay again, but while we were riding in open taxi we noticed that we turned to our beach almost at the same point as we saw a turn to Brewers bay. It looks like they are situated in the "fjords" separated by one mountain.

Just to warn you this ride is not for weak people. Very steep mountain. Our taxi was overcrowded. Five people instead of four in every row. I was sitting in drivers cabin. It was a bit scary even for me, and I love roller-coasters. :)

Beautiful views though.

When we stay at the Heritage Inn on Windy Hill, safari taxis full of day visitors going to CGB are taking the coastal route to Zion Hill Rd and then along the north shore and going down into CGB from the west. We've gotten some funny videos from there! In that case the driver side (if on the left), or port side would afford the best views all the way. If they go over Joe's Hill Rd and drop down into CGB from the east the right side would be better. So just ask the driver which route he/she will be taking.

Can you recommend which side of the open air taxi to sit on to get better views on the way to/from the beach? TIA!

The fare when taking a safari taxi with others is $8pp each way for adults, 1/2 fare for kids ages 4 - 10, and free for toddlers. The $8 fare applies to 3 or more ppl, so for 2 ppl in a private taxi it's a little more.
