SeaWatch Posted June 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2015 Does anyone know what ( and when they did it) was done at the Maasdam's last dry dock? Thanks!
chengkp75 Posted June 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2015 Does anyone know what ( and when they did it) was done at the Maasdam's last dry dock? Thanks! She was last in drydock Jan 2014. This was just a routine maintenance and survey drydock. She had a major refurbishment in Apr 2011.

Rare Copper10-8 Posted June 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2015 She probably won't get another one as she is slated to be sold. Actually, she's scheduled to go back to Freeport from 04 through 13 JAN 2016 ;)
chengkp75 Posted June 21, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 21, 2015 Actually, she's scheduled to go back to Freeport from 04 through 13 JAN 2016 ;) Yep, regardless of intention to sell, within 24-30 months of the last drydock, they are required to have another one, and a potential buyer would be leery of a ship of that age being offered without a drydock within the past year. Yep! Plus P&O Australia is putting both SADM and RYDM in dry dock in Singapore prior to placing them in service in order to adapt both to their standard. Both had last seen HAL dry docks in 2013 and 2014
KirkNC Posted June 21, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 21, 2015 While throughly enjoyed our Amazon cruise on the Maasdam last February, there was lots of talk about leaking pipes. Several people we talked with were moved as a result.
Rare ski ww Posted June 21, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 21, 2015 We'll see what is done to her in Jan 2016 as we do the Amazon on her the day after she gets out of dry dock, hope they don't have any problems or delays. Allan

St Pete Cruiser Posted June 22, 2015 #10 Share Posted June 22, 2015 Thanks Copper for sharing your knowledge on here, this time regarding the Maasdam. I too am looking at the Jan 2016 cruise to Rio/Amazon RT from Ft Lauderdale. Copper, with your "inside" knowledge, do you think HAL will continue to be able to offer the exotic cruises in the future if they loose the Prinsendam, S class and eventually the R class? Wow, if they lose all of those, we might be looking for another line. Someone somewhere will still offer cruises to interesting places on reasonably sized ships.
