Default Foxwoods cruise certificate

Foxwoods ncl cruise certificate was given away this weekend. We will use it for spring school vacation 4/13 for the western Carib cruise out of Tampa. We received a free balcony (taxes and port fees not included).

Anybody else taking advantage of this offer?

Do you have to gamble a certain amount of $$ to get the cruise certificate or did you just have to show up? Did you know in advance that they would be giving these out? I have a friend that could use a free trip after the year she's gone through battling cancer, and some hard financial times. On the bright side she kicked it's ---! If she could get it for free I would pay her port fees and taxes.

Can't speak for Foxwoods, but for the Caesar's chain it is by invitation only and only the higher rollers are invited. Me, my husband and our BIL are all Caesar's Diamond level players (next highest to the REALLY big rollers) but only my hubby gets the "free" cruises.

Default free cruises

That's a good deal if you got a free balcony. We got offered 3, 2 from the Hard Rock and one from Twin River in RI. Only picked up one from the Hard Rock. SHould have realized that they could be combined to upgrade the stateroom. We paid for balcony upgrade, and called CAS after the cruise. Based on my play on the Epic, got another cruise offered free, again had to upgrade but it was less $$$ this time. Did well at the slots anyway, so it was a win win.

I too received and picked up a balcony cabin comp at Foxwoods this past weekend and was hoping to use it for a 2013 Breakaway Bermuda cruise but unfortunately these were not listed as available cruises on my certificate. Having racked up quite a few points on my first NCL cruise this past March which was an inside comp we upgraded to a minisuite from Twin Rivers Casino I thought I would give CAS a call to see if my play history with them qualified me for the Breakaway cruise I was interesed in. Glad I made that call because CAS comped me a spa minisuite for June 2013 Breakaway cruise

Tropicana in Atlantic City had its NCL free cruise certificate giveaway last week. It was by invitation only. They give you 3 months to book and 1 year to sail. You could choose embarkation ports from N.Y. or Florida.
I am booking from N.Y.

That's fantastic! I thought we played alot this last cruise on the Gem but apparently CAS did not feel the same way. Any idea as to what type of play (hours/avg bet) they are looking for?

CAS tier points for slots (tables may be different) on every $5 gives you 1 point.

Some tier level benefits are posted here. The higher the tier the more offers are available to you.

I picked my certificate up on Friday, it was for an inside cabin. I heard that on Saturday they were giving balcony cabins to the bigger gamblers. I'm already booked on 7/20 to Bermuda out of Boston. It came to $336 pp.

Sailing sat on gem for the first round of the 3 cruises. It will be nice to sail for 7 days no matter the tournament outcome.

I wonder if it depends somewhat on the casino too. I live near a Harrah's casino and I've had a diamond card from Caesars for several years but have never received an offer. On our last cruise though, I met several people (in the casino of course) who had received certificates from other Caesars casinos who were also diamond level.

We are sailing on the Gem from NY 7/28 from a Casinos at Sea Comp. We are in a Balcony Stateroom. The fare is free for 2 passengers...we have to pay port fees and taxes. I don't gamble at all, so I don't get the vouchers. This was issed to my husband.

My mom got a certificate for a free cruise in an INSIDE stateroom, but we couldn't use it on the Gem this summer...it was blacked out. So we are paying for her cabin on our 7/28 cruise. She got this voucher through Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City. Hopefully she will use it before it expires in April 2013.

Here's hoping hubby gets another one for 2013!

These offers, like most comps are usually based on your avg daily play, and not your level. Some Golds might get an offer, and a Diamond not.

Also, offers will move around based on current marketing departments (cruiseline and/or casino) decisions.

Linda, I can see that you might not get the offers, on a "one per household" reasoning, but if your BIL is also Diamond, I'm surprised he doesn't get them too.

DW and I are both Harrah's Diamond players, but we only tend to get one offer when they are out...usually, for some reason, addressed to her!

Offers of cruises are based on several things: Your average play with the casino chain (i.e. Higher $ play and more regular play gets you more and better offers), and also whatever promotion NCL's CAS and that casino chain are working on at that moment.

The offers could be for specific cruises, or more general offers for a selection of cruises, with deadlines as to the latest date when you need to book and sail.

You will sometimes know of the offer in advance - usually the casino will send you an information card, but you need to go to the casino to pick up the offer itself (obviously, they hope you'll stay and gamble while you do). More rarely, you'll simply receive an offer for a cruise and you can call the casino or CAS and book it if you wish.

If you are a Ceasar's or Harrah's Total Rewards player, you are already entitled to a % discount on any cruise. See below:

Ceasar's and Harrah's are owned by the same company, so it's not a matter of your living near (and playing at) a Harrah's, if that's what you're asking.

We recently picked up an offer for a Mediterranean cruise from Horseshoe Bossier City, via our Total Rewards status. We picked it up hoping we might be able to use it, but unfortunately, the time frame for cruising won't work for us. Darn it!!

It seems that, lately, at least past 2 or 3 years, we get invites from Tropicana Las Vegas to visit and receive our "free" NCL cruise certificates, with the ususal yada yada restrictions & blackouts, for an inside cabin, LOL. But, with the cost of airfares & car rentals from NYC - it's not worth our while but if we do, our host will be glad to set everything else up for us & comp us for our stay (usually 3 or 4 nights) + take care of our meals.
The net out-of-pocket for 2 was priced out to be around $600 then, plus we will have to fly down to MIA for the ships, no thanks.

Last year, we got "free" RCCL cruise offers from Foxwood's other competitor in CT for up to 9 nights, OV or Balcony - good for Caribbean, Bermuda or Europe and working around blackout dates - the port charges/fees/taxes/ etc. w. mandatory insurance still worked out to the around $700 for 2 of us for 5 nights going to Bermuda. The third person add-on is available, but at full rack rate at booking time (and, not the lowest/discounted/sales rate) - subtotaled at $800, not exactly a deal ... But, it's still about 50% over what we've would to pay on our own with homeport at Cape Liberty, NJ. Upgrade to a balcony would cost a small fortune, let alone a suite, ouch.

Nephew's husband got Trump Plaza's "free" cruise offer with Princess line as the partner, and the charges payable is only around $200 for 2 people in a balcony - the catch is that the ship is based in Florida so they need to add cruise-air, airport transfer plus extra $$ for their 3.5 years old - the tab is something like $2,200 after adding it all up - for a mid October sailing.

It pays to really compare prices & get the bottom line figures straight, plus, add on the costs for "playing" in the casino if you expect to be "invited" back again for future casino cruises ... The slot payouts are among the lowest anywhere & the table game pay-tables are just as bad. But, if you are going to play & cruise anyway - the offers are floating out there.

I don't think, for everyone, it is only a matter of comparing prices and getting the bottom line figured straight, which of course is a really good piece of advice. In our case, if we wanted to cruise on any line to and from anywhere we would have to fly. So if we are planning on taking a cruise, saving approx. 50% is a fantastic deal no matter how you slice it.

We have both been Diamond at some point. They tend to send offers to the "highest" player per household. You may not agree, but that is what they do.

And, of course most offers are NOT because you are Diamond, etc. They are based on your average daily play. Some Diamonds get crappy offers because of this.
