Cruise line recommendations for an Aruban Vacation......

To start with, (depending on when you want to cruise), RCI's Jewel of the Seas and Adventure of the Seas both offer southern Caribbean itineraries that depart from San Juan and sail to St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Aruba, and Curacao. You will also find cruises on other lines such as Carnival, Holland America, Princess, Norwegian, etc. that stop at Aruba. Our first cruise departed from San Juan and included St. Thomas, Tortola, Aruba, and Curacao- loved the itinerary!

RCI Adventure has a southern caribbean that includes Aruba we have done this itinerary on RCI Jewel last October and will be doing it again in May 2016 on the Adventure...it's a great itinerary.

We were supposed to stop in Aruba last month but couldn't. The seas were too rough, waves too tall. The harbor pilot couldn't get on board. We saw the pilot boat and it tried to get close enough but just couldn't put the pilot aboard. This is not a tender port. Yes that happens in tender ports but with close to 100 cruises we have never seen it where the harbor pilot could not get on board. (The harbor pilot brings the ship into the ports and all ports use them.)

If you want an "Aruban Vacation" then we suggest you spend several days to a week on the island of Aruba. A cruise is only going to give you a day (at most) which is not really enough time on that wonderful island. There are plenty of decent resorts and all-inclusives on the island and there are also some pretty decent restaurants and night life.

I agree with Hank, spend a few days in Aruba to see the island. But, if you really do want to cruise, RCCL,s Spanish line Pullmantur boards passengers in Aruba on the Monarch virtually year round for 7 night cruises.
