JennyMominRI Posted April 1, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2008 Is there a Sushi Bar? How is the food in the dining room, buffet, supper club? I've only sailed on the Spirit. Does this ship feel crowded? How is the Kids club for the 12-14 age range?
mangoman14 Posted April 1, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted April 1, 2008 Yes there is a sushi bar. I never had a bad experience while dining. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I give the food five stars. My favorite place to eat on the Valor was the supper club. There steak was mouth watering and cooked to perfection. I have a 13 year old son and he had a great time. He left around 10:00 in the morning and came back at 11:00 at night. He loved it. He met many other kids and was never bored. It depends what time you go. If you go on spring break or around the holidays, chances are it might be a little crowded. But the Valor is a huge ship. It's not like everyone is going to be in the same area. I loved the Valor and I know you would too. It is a great ship and you will never be bored. 4gvn Posted April 1, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 1, 2008 Is there a Sushi Bar?How is the food in the dining room, buffet, supper club? I've only sailed on the Spirit. Does this ship feel crowded? How is the Kids club for the 12-14 age range? I guess there really is some truth to "dif'rent strokes" b/c the food in the supper club was subpar to me. The steaks were beautiful but they kinda tasted like water. (ie: lacking flavor) I had the ribeye and even with the fat it didn't taste mouth watering or anything. The dining room food was "just ok" I loved the Valor though and I'd sail on her again in a heartbeat...bad food or not. :D (by the way, the ship never felt crowded to me the entire time I was on board)
Wennfred Posted April 1, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 1, 2008 Is there a Sushi Bar? Sushi Bar is located on Deck 5 close to the Java Cafe. The food is great in the dining room and also in the buffet. Scarletts is Supper Club and the food there was amazing. The Valor is alot bigger so it won't feel as crowded. Below is links to alot of Valor activites including Camp Carnival. 4gvn Posted April 1, 2008 #10 Share Posted April 1, 2008 Where's the beef? They look awlfully small!!! It HAS to be the camera angle. Those steaks were HUGE! (well except the filet mignon, but that's a given)
Vyhanek Posted April 1, 2008 #11 Share Posted April 1, 2008 Your steaks look amazing! Was the Supper Club difficult to make a reservation for? I know you can make reservations ahead of the cruise if you want to but I can't plan out the week that far in advance. I'm wondering if I want to make a reservation say the day before is it possible to get in or do I need to book well in advance?

mangoman14 Posted April 1, 2008 Author #13 Share Posted April 1, 2008 I'm sailing in 88 days and we already made our reservations! Main seating at 6:15.
Wennfred Posted April 1, 2008 #14 Share Posted April 1, 2008 No problems making reservations, you can do 3 things, 1. When you board, they have a table set up right next to the pursers desk. 2. Walk up to Supper Club which is one deck above Lido Deck and look for the floating clear stair way that takes you up there. 3. Call from your cabin, there is usually a card with a number there. angelsx4 Posted April 2, 2008 #16 Share Posted April 2, 2008 I just want clarification. I'm still seeing posts that yes there is mini-golf, but I've also read others say they couldn't find it, and I can't seem to find pictures. So? Is it really there? And the showers? Doors or shower curtains? Thanks!!!!!!
JoeU Posted April 2, 2008 #17 Share Posted April 2, 2008 I get on the Valor next Sunday. You guys between now and then, don't mess up my boat!:D I have a question about the poker in the casino. Do you know what limits and games they were spreading? When I was on the Miracle last May, they had a 2-4 limit hold'em game the first day, and that went to 3-6 the rest of the cruise. Are they spreading limit, no limit, some other form of poker, maybe some tournaments????? Just curious and excited to get to vacationing! Hope this helps!

lakedad Posted April 2, 2008 #24 Share Posted April 2, 2008 amgelsx4: You do get the clubs for mini golf from the towel attendants by the pool. It is on what they call the F deck (funnel). It surrounds the big funnel. you need to go through the basketball and volley ball courts and up the stairs. My 12 and 14 year old girls had the best time ever in the Circle C program. MzOhioLady Posted April 2, 2008 #25 Share Posted April 2, 2008 I'm going on the Valor on September 14th, doing the Western Route along with another couple. Here's my question: Can we make a flight out of Miami at 11:45am or should I look for a later flight?
