Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Sailing at full capacity is good news for the cruise companies. I'm now looking at land holidays for my bargain hunt but it looks like all holidays have gone up in price again.
  2. I was having a look for a late deal for June and it looks like those days are over 😪. 1 week in a balcony on Azura is £1400 in June. I remember Paul Ludlow this would be the case as he wants the best deals to be on launch. I suppose it will satisfy the passengers who buy at launch and then find others have got the same holiday at a bargain price.
  3. I love this. Window seats in all outside cabins like Iona The cocktail bar on Oceana Good TVs (they aren't the same across the fleet) with a good selection of films and box sets, and broadcasting the speakers Can I go off on a tangent and mention the cocktails in the Emerald Bar on Iona?
  4. Hi Andy So sorry to hear about your fellow traveller and I hope you all enjoy the cruise nevertheless. If there is a naughty queue outside can you let me know if it is busy inside the terminal with losts of people waiting please? thanks
  5. We had 6 formals last year on Arcadia for a 3 week cruise, but only 3 had "special" meals. There were lots complaints at the lack of special meals, which P&O could interpret as lack of support for formals and reduce the number.
  6. We sail with P&O for the value they offer, and we know what to expect. I admit to moaning about the food if it's sub par, and it is noticebly not of the same standard across the fleet. If there is a good late deal to be had we might book it. We only go with other lines of they are sailing somewhere we want to go anad P&O don't go there.
  7. New Place in Shedfield, Botleigh Grange in Hedge End, both do a park and stay deal, I think
  8. What a pain, but necessary I suppose
  9. Yes the the push to upgrade is annoying. I am sure the speciality dining would be full if they dropped the price. The basic wifi is exactly that, but we could access it anywhere on the ship quite easily. As it was our first Celebrity cruise we had no loyaty status. It is over a year since I was last on Princess. IMHO the MDR on Millenium is better than Princess but I prefer the Princess drinks package. I would happily cruise wth either at the right price. Next year we are on Holland America, so it will be interesting to see how that compares.
  10. There are a few Arcadia cruises to Norwegain ports that interest me, and Aurora to Istanbul. I was hoping Azura could nip over to Istanbul too. I am not sure that we will book as we are concentrating on long haul holidays for the next few years, but I can always fit in a late deal.
  11. They aren't as dressy as P&O but most people were smart. A few men had DJs but most were smart casual. I did not see anyone scruffy in the evenings. For evening chic I usaully wore a cocktail dress, or sequined top and black trousers. I hope you have a good time
  12. I agree wholeheartedly. I had forgotten you could watch the muster drill online before hand, and just scan your card at the Muster point. It is shame P&O don't do more indepth voyages across the world. I am not keen to try a world cruise or a segment, too many sea days for us.
  13. Sorry I should have said we were on Millenium. The drinks are priced in so that you ugrade to the premium package, so no martinis for us either. FYI Campari was $17!
  14. Sorry for the confusion I have severe jet lag. The Princess cruise was a partial Panama transit.
  15. Yes you are right. I only chose Iona and Apex as comparisons are they are both doing similar itineraries at th same time. I haven't done the Maths but I think Millenium prices are about the same as Arcadia. I was on Arcadia last year and I would choose Millenium over Arcadia at present
