We didn't have one in our cabin on our recently completed Legend cruise and we didn't ask for one.
Thanks, I'll be on Legend so I guess I'll add another item to the packing list. I suppose it maybe nice for me to keep items cold if going to a beach as well.
Thanks for the other responses as well, can't figure out multi-quotes for some reason...

I see lots of people mention bringing coolers, are there not ice buckets in the room?

Just to update, I was able to use the offer again (though technically I think it's a new offer because of new expiration) with Citi. I had the new offer on both my Citi cards, so I did use it on the other Citi card this time.
After one week, it showed as redeemed on the offers page (the amount saved/earned updated with the $250, didn't see it as redeemed unless you clicked on the redeemed page). It took 2 days after that for the credit to appear on my statement, so it was about 9 days to know the offer worked. I started getting nervous about it because I decided to throw the PVP a bone and booked the cruise over the phone. The charged showed as being over the phone, but the offer does explicitly say it's for online. (Though Amex offer is online or over phone)

You can buy it when onboard, it cost a little more than pre cruise but good way to use the obc it you don't have other purchases.

If you can't find it, you can try clearing the apps cache.

Used my phone, no issues with time out. Only con is that it would switch from front to rear camera at times.

It really depends. If an itinerary is changed or a port is missed for say weather, Carnival will take care of those cancellations. You may not have as much ease with getting refunded from say a private 3rd party.
Other observations, not strictly on Carnival cruise though. If it's a tender port, those with sponsored excursions can usually get off first or have some kind of priority.
Some places it very difficult to get to a private excursion, I want to say it is Costa Maya that all the excursions in the immediate port area are the same price as the ships. You have to walk quite a ways out or take the tram to get outside of the immediate port area to get to private excursions.
I've gone on private excursions and see the cruise ship excursion people at the same places, getting the same experience.

Reading about the kits and possibility of drama etc. makes me nervous about the Covid testing procedure and yet everyone on board currently must have tested somewhere/somehow. I have actually booked us for testing on Friday the day after Thanksgiving at a CVS and trusting works.
I think many have bought the home test kits as backup to the traditional testing being cancelled or results not arriving in time. I would buy a pair if the expiration dates were longer on them. Not sure why the proctored kits have such short expiration when the non-proctored kits are good for several months longer.
-
They recommend having 2 kits per person, just in case there are issues. After hearing all the issues on no fluid, I would say least get the 3 pack to have a spare. Each kit is individual and not tied to any one person.

Where did you have that done? I got extra pages in my passport that need some stamps!

It’s always been that way for cruises to Mexico.
Isn't that the case for all closed loop cruises?

I think it is both parties best interest that you carry it on to avoid potential damage from being tossed around with all the luggage. If the luggage were lost or delayed, you would have your machine to get a good night's sleep.

I got this after I inquired about what they mean reduced rate:
"Reduced rates are promotions that are found under your VIFP number. These promotions offer exclusive savings that is not available to the general public. Therefore the Shareholder Benefit is not combinable with the promotion you are booked with."
If they apply that uniformly, I guess that is ok. Obviously some VIFP offers are better than others, but this at least lets me compare offers BEFOREHAND... If my vifp over only saves $10, get the shareholder obc. If $50, it's a bit of wash...

Anyone take advantage of the Citi Carnival offer more than once? I already got a credit for the offer that expired on 10/31, but there is now what seems to be a new offer with expiration 12/31 and it's on 2 different Citi cards that I have. Might book another cruise if I can get the days off from work.
Amex also has one for worlds best cruise brands that is 400 credit on 1500. I should of probably used that for my first booking, bit didn't see it at the time.

Apologies if this is hijacking the thread (it is), but I've always been curious what happens with pay-as-you-go phones (x-minutes per month/unlimited monthly) if they're not put in airplane mode on ships?
Probably nothing but a lot of battery drain trying to find signal. The pay as you go plans, typically don't have roaming.

That more depends on your model of phone, have you tried downloading their hub app already?

This was an actual room you were in? They should be ashamed of themselves. This is awful.
I stayed in a 1A a long time ago on Carnival Splendor, it had a tiny porthole window. There was a twin bed, but also a couch that converted into a bed too. I had it once as a solo and another time traveling with my sibling.

I did it on my cell phone, but it was annoying that the camera flipped from the front camera to the back camera at times. I also had to prop up my cell phone to keep it aimed at the test. I would do a laptop if possible.

The outside musters are the worst, remember on my first cruise that it wasn't really that cold, but it was just so windy where the boat was docked that we froze out there.

Just curious about the trial, isn't it a blind study with a one group being a control and given just placebo?

And one last thing: If cruise passenger have to be vaccinated and show proof, why make them get tested 2 days before sailing. No other form of transportation or lodging has this requirement. I know the CDC is mandating this order, but the Florida lawsuit (which still applies) was very clear that the CDC can not treat Cruises differently than airplanes, trains, hotels ....
International flights do, not that I enjoy the testing. It's a bit stressful ensuring the results will meet the requested time frame, hopefully conditions will allow in the future for this to no longer be necessary.

This can occur if a pax receives confirmation of OBC, then they sell their shares prior to boarding. Cunard do check actual holdings. It’s a shareholder benefit.
I can't validate that, it sounded like they still held the stock as they also mentioned making plans to sell it once it was back over $30...
Like someone else said, really poopy of them to give it and take it away. It does seem like more recent requests have been declined. I guess I would feel better if the denials are more uniform or if they announced they are changing their policies on the shareholder benefit (temporarily or permanently, couldn't blame them)
While I agree the reduced-rate verbiage has always been there, it is too broad of a term as I always took it to mean casino offers where the cruise is practically free. Otherwise you are always booking some kind of reduced rate as it is there is no option for completely full fare. The highest rate for my booking is fun select and it still indicates you're getting "free room location upgrade".

It probably depends if the room has those beds in the wall/ceiling. Not every single room has those.
