So pleased to be following your trip from the start, here. We’re doing this cruise in reverse on 27th Jan 2024 (in 5 weeks!!). Like you we’d booked Millie in 2019 for Feb 2020, to celebrate my 60th birthday. Now it’ll be closer to my retirement!! Back in 2020 we were cancelled 2 days before flying out to HK! It’s been a long wait since!!

Been many times in AQ and never realised you got a complimentary shoe shine service!! I’ll be taking all my shoes next time!!

Well I have to disagree with you there. We have booked future cruises where the OBC was added immediately to our current cruise account. If that wasn’t the case I wouldn’t have said it. So, please don’t confuse the OP!

There is advantage in booking future cruises on board. One perk is that they’ll usually give you some OBC to use on your current cruise. Whatever deal they offer you on the future cruise will be the same as if you booked on-line or through a Celebrity agent back home. You may be able to pay a reduced deposit though. What is good though is that you get a guaranteed lowest price. So if you see that the cruise price comes down before you sail Celebrity will match the new price, which isn’t the same if you booked from home. That includes any sales promotions, so you need to keep checking (as they don’t volunteer any of that info), and get in touch with Celebrity.

We’ve got 3 nights in HK in January 2024 before boarding Solstice. We favoured staying in Kowloon, and the Tsim Sha Tsui area, and got a good deal on the Kowloon Hotel. £130 a night, pay at hotel, and can cancel up-to the day before!

Some wise and logical words from Bruin Steve above. I’ve been following this thread and agree there’s far too much panic from some, leading to anxiety, which is not proving helpful. In fact, some comments are just wild assumptions.

My wife says it’s passable (if you can’t have the real thing)!!

0.0% Gin seems to be growing in the EU and UK. Big brands like Gordon’s and Tanqueray certainly have them. Myself, I’m a drinker, and don’t see the point in them! But having tried some there is a resemblance and what you mix it with has a big say.

The last time I asked on board all they had was an O’Douls lager, which in reality was a 0.5% low alcohol lager (and not a true 0% alcohol free). That was a couple of years back and thought that they might have some 0% gin by now.

Is there an offering of 0% alcohol free drinks like wine and gin at Celebrity bars these days? In particular does the Martini bar stock an alcohol free gin?

We were due to do HK to Singapore in Feb 2020 on Millennium. Before they cancelled this completely they gave us a fair bit of notice that HK was cancelled and we’d start & finish in Singapore. The rest of the itinerary was pretty much the same and still going to a Halong Bay. However, they pulled the whole cruise 2 days before we were due to fly out to Singapore!!

Our Jan 2024 Hong Kong to Singapore on Solstice is also still showing. We’ve had to rebook this several times now, since it first got cancelled in Feb 2020. I will say though, that while China is maintaining this Zero-Covid policy, I can’t see this going and wouldn’t be surprised to see it cancelled. Or, more likely, have an itinerary change where HK is cancelled in favour of joining and leaving in Singapore.
