  1. Anyone know what the deposit will be for a cruisetour? Or if it will be refundable or not?
  2. According to this, suite guests have early cabin access. The only FTTF benefits for suite guests would be priority line at guest services and dedicated guest services phone number Suite Amenities and Perks (goccl.com)
  3. Interestingly, the details page for FTTF does not list how many tickets are left (unlike other excursions, which will say the number of tickets or more than 10).
  4. Please keep us updated. We have a suite booked for our 8 day horizon cruise, so we wouldn't get it for that (though I checked price out of curiosity and it's $129.95) But for our August Glory 7 day cruise we are interested. But, with 3 cabins, $390 is a lot! Though with kids, an 82 year old, and medical equipment, we'd still consider it if it did a lot to make boarding day much easier.
  5. When is your cruise? Wondering if you will get 17 or more days also?
  6. If FTTF had to stick to the arrival time, then getting on board early isn't really one of the perks. Ds and Ps also have to stick to their times, but they can check in online 2 days early, which generally translates to being able to board early. Apparently, 16 day check in is not a FTTF perk.
  7. I don't have any info for you, but anything can change between now and August. Not sure how helpful recent updates would actually be. Hopefully, anything not running yet will be by then.
  8. If anyone purchases soon, it'd be interesting to see if their online check in date changes from 14 to 16 days. Hopefully we'll get reports one way or the other!
  9. Come to think of it, allowing FTTF the 16 day check in, but make them still adhere to the check in window, could lead to a lot of abuse. Buy FTTF. Check in at 16 days. 3 days later, cancel FTTF for a full refund, and you get to keep the major benefit of it anyway.
  10. I'd actually prefer if the crew served at the buffet. The line would move more quickly (assuming enough staffing), it'd be less messy, and it'd be easier for parents to manage their kids getting food.
  11. If FTTF port arrival is still tied to the check in time, then the benefits of FTTF are completely watered down, to the point where it really isn't worth that much. Early boarding was probably the biggest selling point, by far. Maybe FTTF gets the 16 day check in window? Would make sense, but that is not listed as a benefit.
  12. Thanks. I think that's too much of a bus ride for us (with kids) for such a short time at the stops. I looked into the beach days, but with 5 of us, they are a bit pricy for the relatively short amount of time we'd get given the port schedule. With only about 3.5 hours at the beach after transit time, AI is really a waste of money, as we'd only want a light snack and a drink. We have busy days planned at the other 3 ports, so I think we'd be OK with staying on the ship.
  13. But doesn't FTTF include priority check in line and priority boarding? If you get a late check in time, FTTF world be very useful.
  14. Let's see... Priority tender Be among first to board Priority disembarkation Access to stateroom to drop off carry on I think almost everyone would be interested in buying it (except Ds, Ps, and suites)... if the price is low enough. But is it worth the (as yet) unknown cost? We'll see.
  15. We're taking the same cruise, but in July. Also with a cove balcony, but in a family harbor suite, so hopefully they fix the plumbing issues by then! Love the balcony pic you posted. We're looking forward to sitting right on the water. For Romana, we're considering the monkey and flavors excursion, also. How long of a bus ride was it each way, and between the two stops as well? How much time did you spend at the two stops? Was there anything else you were considering for Romana? We have the other ports planned out, but Romana is proving difficult.
  16. Thanks. I wouldn't be surprised to have more appear closer to the date, but I was surprised to have so many disappear so far from the cruise date, as they obviously aren't all booked, and it's far too early to decide they are too underbooked to run.
  17. Recently I noticed almost half of the ship sponsored excursions are gone from the excursions page. This is for a Carnival sailing next August (on the Glory). Any idea what's up?
  18. I agree with most of this.... except we did encounter chair hogs on our disney cruise. Another plus (for us): no casino and no casino smoke. However, Disney has a lot less variety of activities than Carnival. We got great use of our unlimited photo package because we had the time to stand in a bunch of lines to get pictures with characters. Carnival Our kids like camp ocean much more than the Disney kids club, such was more high tech playground than day camp. So, yes... if you cruse for food and relaxation, Disney may be worth the additional cost. To bring this back on topic... Carnival could spend money to bring up the level of service (which would require higher fares). Disney clearly proves this to be true. However, there is one other huge difference. Carnival has a ton of more cabins to fill. To sell all those cabins they need a lower price point. I don't think disney could fill 24 ships at their price. Carnivals decision to focus on their strengths... activities... and save money on food, is probably the right decision. Like everything, though, there has to be a balance. If they cut and skimp too much, we'll move on as well, as well many others.
  19. What would they do at that point if they weren't vaccinated? Make them stay in grand turk, where vaccines are required, or let them back in the ship, where vaccines are not required?
  20. Interesting. According to carnival.com: * Proof of vaccination is required for cruises that visit Grand Turk and Cartagena, Colombia
