  1. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ง I had trouble focusing on the rest of your post, 'cause ... WOW. Just not okay ๐Ÿ˜  Granted, if I had my way, nobody would wear Speedos in public, even if they look like Chippendale dancers. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But telling people what they can and can't wear because they're too fat/thin/tall/short/hairy/pale whatever ... that needs to stop, period, and when it's coming from someone whose job it is to help you enjoy your cruise ... well, let's just say that I'm glad there's a survey at the end of every cruise. ๐Ÿ˜‘ P.S. Not that my opinion should matter in the slightest, but I think you are rockin' that swimsuit.
  2. I would recommend looking at the deck plans and getting a feel of which features of the ship you expect to visit the most, and let that guide your decision. If you plan to spend most of your time on the pool deck, for example, it's very convenient to have an upper deck cabin so you can just use the stairs (although, full disclosure, some people avoid being directly below the pool/Windjammer deck due to the risk of noise issues from above). If you expect to spend more time on the Boardwalk or in Central Park, decks 6-8 would make more sense. There are elevators, of course, but on the larger ships they can sometimes involve some waiting. The more you can skip them by taking a flight or two of stairs, the better. ๐Ÿ™‚
  3. I agree on both counts. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But good on him for trying! And hearty congratulations on your tenure news!! I know how huge that is. ๐Ÿฅณ Looking forward to following along!
  4. Agreed. OP, I think there may have been a misunderstanding/miscommunication. The C&A discount is sometimes not combinable with special offers, but to the best of my knowledge, double points for suites are set in stone.
  5. Well, nothing will prevent you from asking. ๐Ÿ™‚ But like it or not, the entire cruise industry is short staffed right now. They may or may not be able to accommodate your request, but if so, it may mean you're kept waiting quite a bit longer. Bottom line, this is probably not the best time to be cruising for passengers with a lower threshold for adapting, rolling with the punches and going with the flow.
  6. Yes, buying the packages ahead of time always saves you some money, but how much can vary quite a lot. This close to your sail date, you'll have to pull the trigger quickly if you want to do it, so you'd have to accept whatever whatever the current sale is--which might be a really good one, or might not. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We always buy a package so we book it when the sales are best. They do offer specials onboard as well, so if you keep a close watch on the daily Cruise Compass, you might find something that would interest you. Bottom line: yes, you will pay more onboard, but if you're not sure you actually want them, that's a pretty significant amount of money to pay just in case.
  7. Well, I have good news and bad news: the good news is that there is more than just sandwiches and pizza, but the bad news is that there isn't really a fixed menu and the selections vary from day to day. In all likelihood, you would see 2-3 varieties of pizza and 2-3 different sandwiches, along with some sides such as grilled veggies, fruit etc. Plus a couple of desserts.
  8. Unfortunately Odyssey did not, at least in our OVB. ๐Ÿ™
  9. That is fantastic news! DH and I are both big fans of herbal tea, but we don't drink it around the clock in the Caribbean. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Alaska, on the other hand, is made for cozy cups of tea. Fingers crossed that they make this permanent!
  10. Thank you so much for doing this! These lives are getting me pretty pumped even though our Ovation cruise is over a year away. ๐Ÿ˜‰ If anyone onboard gets a chance to check: could you verify that you're able to access the cabin area of deck 13 from the lower level of the Solarium, through the "hidden" hallway? I read somewhere that not all Quantum ships do that, but I'm not sure I trust the source. ๐Ÿคจ Thank you and have a wonderful time!!
  11. I've done Junior Suites on the Mariner a couple of times, and I've also done full suites on X ... and yes, they are absolutely apples to oranges. That being said, if the price difference is negligible I would definitely go for it! The perks don't compare, it's true, but they aren't nonexistent either. For me, having the tub, the extra closet space and the larger room & balcony are worth it.
  12. I believe it depends on the port, and possibly other factors. On our last cruise (2/22), there was a separate boarding for D/D+ following suite & Pinnacle. Not sure what happened after that. ๐Ÿ™‚
  13. Me three. ๐Ÿ™‚ I've encountered some degree of pretentious behavior on every line I've tried--even once on Carnival, because "Excuse me, I'M in a SUITE!!" ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜ But in my experience, Celebrity pax aren't any worse than their RCI counterparts.
  14. I will say that as a part-time user of mobility devices, I've had pretty good luck with RCI in that regard. I'm sorry that your experience was less successful. Hopefully it was a bit of a fluke, and I'm very glad that your daughter didn't let it ruin her trip!
  15. Full disclosure, I haven't yet sailed on Wonder, but I would definitely vote Odyssey unless the boys are really into slides. Odyssey's Seaplex is the best in the class, and the teen areas had me quite envious!
