  1. If you need to do it, it can be done. Earliest flight I have caught from Sydney Domestic after walking off in the first batch from a cruise was 10:00am. You would need to add at least another hour to that for International.
  2. That depends on whether the ship is doing one last NZ cruise before heading across the Pacific. If that's the case then the NZ stops are rolled into the TransPacific. It's been known in both directions. It's more usual to make stops only in Auckland and maybe Bay of Islands in NZ, but the other cruises with more NZ ports do exist.
  3. At the Sydney end, March is definitely warmer than October. Across the Pacific there isn't really enough difference to matter. October is maybe a little drier in the South Pacific. The ocean is probably a little warmer in March.
  4. It was really free time limited internet. It was a real pain to have to count those login minutes and be very careful to logout properly. Even when you logged out properly, the system sometimes didn't recognize it and then you'd have to argue with the Internet Cafe guy over getting those minutes back. 😠 Give me 50% off unlimited internet any day of the week.
  5. Since there is no way to know how much of the money actually goes to wages, the cruise lines should just call it a service charge.
  6. You can also download Google maps for off-line use.
  7. Celebrity Eclipse is supposed to call there in October on its TransPacific to Sydney, but I've no idea if it will actually happen.
  8. From January 1st, 2022 Bora Bora is restricted to ships carrying less than 1500 passengers. Tahiti, Raiatea and Moorea will allow ships with between 1500 and 3500 passengers to visit. It seems likely more big ship cruises will include Raiatea as a stop in the future.
  9. I would presume that you'd just test yourself again within the testing window and report that result.
  10. I'm still trying to get my head around cruise insurance during covid. If I'm traveling on Princess and test positive to covid before I get onboard, I can't go, but Princess will give me the fare back as Future Cruise Credits. If I catch covid onboard, I will be quarantined, but all onboard covid related medical expenses will be covered by Princess. Plus I'll be given FCC for each day in quarantine. So if I'm OK with getting FCCs, then essentially Princess is covering covid for my cruise and I don't need any covid cover from a third party insurance provider? So is there any point to looking for covid insurance coverage?
  11. 1 was a prime number when I went to school. Did something change? 🤔
  12. Looks like Coral might be bunkering at Taboguilla Island.
  13. I had $1 on a couple of P&O cruises. I let them go after the Coral cruises became available. Now that they are gone, I can't get back into the Dashboard to refresh my memory. I can only remember a drop down box with a list of available cabins in the class that I booked.
  14. You can't choose a cabin before booking, but you can in the P&O Dashboard after booking.
  15. Teddy Roosevelt. 😁
  16. I don't want to throw a spoke into your plans, but you could do your cruise from Sydney to Port Douglas and back. Then either spend several days in Sydney or a quick trip to Uluru. Then cruising to NZ from Sydney one way. Hiring a vehicle in Auckland and doing the North Island by land for a few days. Then flying home from Auckland. You should be able to find a one way NZ cruise from Sydney that goes via Melbourne and Hobart. This saves you from having to do the Tasman Sea crossing from Auckland to Sydney, which is probably time better spent elsewhere. Of course this option works just as well in the opposite direction.
  17. True. The OP mentioned smaller ships vs Majestic, which turned the conversation to Coral. Although Island Princess is sailing Alaska.
  18. You don't have to be, but if you aren't you will be coming home to a mountain of debt. ☚ī¸
