So I gather it will be hot no matter when you go?   I want to do a big 14 day cruise for my 60th birthday.  I was thinking maybe a panama cruise too, but in February.  Good luck and have fun on whichever cruise you choose!!

My next booked cruise is in May 2021 on the Empress to Bermuda.

The Cruise I have booked that I think will sail is in September 2021 on Sapphire Princess to Alaska.

The cruise that will disappoint me if it doesn’t sail is my May 2021 Bermuda cruise because Bermuda is on my bucket list.  I’m watching the empress of the seas thread because there are rumors that she has sold, she is getting scrapped, she is still in the RCI fleet. No one knows 🤷‍♀️

I wonder if the cruise lines notify the godmothers/godfathers of ships when they are scrapped.

I’m in high risk group and I have a Sapphire Princess Alaska Cruise planned for September 2021.  I will wear a mask 😷 I will get the vaccine if one is available.  I will be hopeful!

This thread started July 30th and now it is a month later and we still don’t know the Empresses fate.  Is she sold? Is she gonna be scrapped?  Is she gonna sail next year?  I know RC continues to deny she is sold.  

It will be interesting to see what “wave season” looks like starting in November, if there will be any really goods deals.  From what I’m reading on the boards, cruising is going to get more expensive.

Like @queenkathryn  I too just booked on the Freedom out of Ft. Lauderdale but for February 2022.  8 night Southern Caribbean.  Birthday cruise!  

Well, I will let you know if I get a cancellation email from RC saying my May 2021 Bermuda cruise on the Empress has been cancelled

I have some girlfriends that wanted to try a 3 or 4 day for their first time to see if they liked it.  May not be in the cards now.

 

Carnival is selling 3-4 day cruises on the Radiance out of Long Beach starting May 2022

Wow.  I sailed her in June 2019 and she did not look like that.

Carnival should put its most beautiful vessel, the Carnival Liberty on the 7 day SJ route.

Carnival did have the Liberty in SJPR in 2015.  That was the first time I sailed this itinerary was on the Liberty April 2015.  One of my most favorite cruises I have ever taken.  We had so much fun!!  The best memories ever.

The whole cruise industry right now is a giant hole.

Man, it sounds like it is a pain in the ass to sail out of Galveston!!  Unless I find an amazing fanatic cruise out of there,  I’m crossing Galveston off my deport port list.  Thanks for all the info.

@ontheweb    I took this same cruise 5 yrs ago on the Liberty and we did not leave SJPR until 10pm, so we spent the day in old San Juan .  It was a Sunday and after church, all the locals go to old San Juan and dance in the streets to all the local bands.  It was so fun to watch all the people dance and have such a good time.  And it was ALL age groups out dancing.  Then 2 older couples made us go and dance. It was a fun day. 

Also, with carnival abandoning the fascination, that mirrors them also abandoning sailing out of the port of San Juan Puerto Rico too.  That makes me even more sad because that was my favorite Caribbean cruise route.

I agree.  I’m gonna be real sad when the fascination goes, I sailed her last June 2019 for my niece’s college graduation celebration cruise.  We had a blast on that cruise.
