It doesn't. They get paid a guaranteed wage by RCI regardless. -

They aren't shown that way on the current deck plans, so must be new. Celebrity have offered them separately for quite a while so probably just bringing them in line (and giving them an excuse to charge more money too). -
Gratuities Are Going Up Again, Effective 11.11.2023

Crazy stuff. Onboard service / offering getting worse and they're increasing the salary supplement scheme. Prices getting higher all the time. I've always prepaid (which I know a lot of UK guests don't do), but the time has come I feel where I'd just remove and tip directly onboard to those that deserve it imo. After our NZ cruise in 2025, may genuinely book another line. Even with the D+ drinks, the value is really not great anymore. -

It's crazy they load them into the live booking system and make them bookable too. You'd think in 2023 they'd be able to put them onto the system but make them only visible in the back end / require a promo code to view for internal staff or something. -
Ok... UK person question. What is the difference between 'Cream' and 'Milk' in the USA ? I think I have a very different idea of what 'cream' is and I wouldn't expect it to go into Tea / Coffee! Thanks.

Baggage Trouble at Port Canaveral - RCCL no help!
swoopy2110 replied to FL-momma's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Ridiculous post. It's not the cruise lines fault that someone else picked up your sister's bag. The person who picked it up should be paying for the shipping to send them to where they need to go. -

Liberty Anchored in New York Harbor?

Yeh that's a shame actually didn't think of that. No, casino & shops were all closed. Should be open now but I've not been back inside to look. That will have cost them a few $$$. -

I'm onboard. We're leaving in about an hour and scheduled to arrive Bermuda 845am Tuesday with allaboard 5.45pm. Shame we're missing the overnight but nothing we can do about it and at least we get to go still :) -

OOO that's not right. They should have fixed the names when you called. Hope you get a resolution. -
Royal Upcharging on paid in full cruise?
swoopy2110 replied to RedJessi's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Did you originally input the names as TBA ? October 3rd would be the date you can 'check in' from. The dates on the original reservation still needed to be corrected though. -

UK Customer On-Board Credit Issue
swoopy2110 replied to Londoncruiser23's topic in Royal Caribbean International
T&C here: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/next-cruise-booking-terms-and-conditions.pdf It looks like you should retain the credit (I think). -
That's true. I feel like the UK is very advanced in adopting contactless payments compared to a lot of other places. I myself tend to use my phone everywhere now which doesn't have any payment limit in most places. I have found though in some restaurants they hand you the payment terminal and ask you to 'confirm' the amount before you present the card / device. At that point it asks if you want to add a gratuity on.

London is certainly not the norm for the rest of the UK. I have myself noticed that many restaurants are now adding 10% tip automatically to the bill though (but you can remove it if you wish). I'd usually tip 10% in a restaurant, but I can't think of any other place I tip anyone in the UK.

Odyssey iFly and Northstar extended experience
swoopy2110 replied to Dan83's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Both have an included experience but you need to book onboard and slots fill up fast (when we were on Anthem they only released the following day at a certain time on the current day). I would never pay extra for either. -
Tip if you want. Don't tip if you want.

Royal Changes Next Week b/c of Lee?
swoopy2110 replied to vision14k's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Please know being onboard a ship is one of the safest places because we are faster and can move out of the way of any inclement weather. Quite a statement! -
Enter your reservation info here: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/make-a-payment-forum.html It shows you payment history on the right.
