  1. I couldn't tell you what status we are. I just book cruises when and where I want to go. (mostly on Carnival though) The port is easy for us to drive to. We did get free drinks and free water on our embarkation day on the last cruise we went on and it was a surprise to us, making our embarkation day just a bit special.
  2. Ensenada Map.pdf This is the one with my scribbling.
  3. Here is a map without my notes. I'll try to post the one with notes also, but not sure it it will take it.
  4. We just did this excursion in Cabo and it was fun and filling. We did 6 salsas. They are related to the other locations. We had cheese Quesadillas and I think it was potato taquitos, and margaritas.
  5. I wish I had it. In fact we just got off the Firenze today and I know I took my copy with me, but I can't find it at the moment. The Ultimate Local Food Teller tour did not go to the places we had been to before on our own (or that someone had posted on their tour). I guess they may change them around a bit. It was a really good tour though and we ate some good food. We stopped for a shrimp taco, then a candy store, then tequila/Mezcal tasting and upstairs they had us try some smoked marlin with some chips and a small ceviche tostada. We also stopped for a fish taco, then a churro place, and then another tequila tasting. All were good. After the tour was over, we went back to the ship on our own and stopped at El Guero for a seafood tostada right before you get back into the port area. That was delicious! $235 pesos and it filled a whole plate.
  6. You bet! Just off the Firenze and had to use my packet twice. Once at the port of Ensenada and believe it or not, once on the ship!
  7. Or go to Insuremytrip.com for comparisons also. I've always used them for other vacations. I usually just book through the cruise line at booking time for our cruises.
  8. We usually go to Baja Brewing (up on the hill) by taxi ,and have some beers and the view of the ship and arches is amazing from there! Makes great pictures. Then we walk over to The Office and have shrimp tacos and margaritas, then water taxi back to the port.
  9. We did our own walking tour in Ensenada last November and hit mostly taco stands. I printed out a map and we researched and mapped out recommendations from YouTube. We like breweries and most of them don't open until later in the day. We had El Corralito on our list even though we heard it was real touristy, but we really enjoyed it. Don't sit outside, sit inside at the bar. Great margarita's! Really nice people. Yeah...avoid Papas and Beer. Hussong's is empty during the day, but it's nice to visit just because it's famous. (the bathrooms were disgusting though, glad I took toilet paper!) 😁 We have a stop in Ensenada in August and decided to book a food tour through the ship this time. I believe El Corralito is one of the stops on the tour. It's called Ultimate Local Food Teller. The other beer and tequila tasting tour we tried to book last time was cancelled and we weren't notified until the night before. They said not enough people booked it.
  10. Personally, we don't do resorts, but if I had to it would be in Cabo. There is so much more to do and see locally in Mazatlan. Cabo marina area just reminds me of Long Beach with more people selling drugs on the beach. 🙂
  11. 2006 Carnival Pride out of Long Beach. Loved it!
  12. We were on the Miracle last Thanksgiving and had a great time. Perfect size ship for us! Still in great shape.
  13. Enjoying your trip. That excursion looks like something we need to do on our next trip!
  14. That's what I'm worried about for our Firenze cruise coming up in August. Hopefully they'll get something worked out beforehand.
  15. I would agree with Mike. Skip going to the terminal parking structure. What a waste of time. We had this happen to us on the Miracle when we went last November. They sent us to 3 separate parking structures. We also had a 10-10:30 check in time and didn't get there until 11:30. Sure makes you start your cruise off in a bad mood.
  16. I saw a YouTube video someone posted saying the dining room Deck 3 Aft had a secret buffet on embarkation day that no one knew about. I was wondering about that. It may be less crowed than the Lido that day. Thanks Weezal for posting that!
  17. Just wanted to chime in and say I am so thankful for you putting your report in purple font! I'm on limited time and it's so easy to scroll to find your installments. I think I'm putting the Zoo on our "next trip" list.
  18. Also note in some parts of Mexico ATM's only take a 4 digit pin. Mine was 6 and didn't work. Jim's was 4 and had no problem. (I found out the hard way) Lol...
  19. Did pretty much the same places a few weeks ago. Walked from the port to Tacos Fenix, across the street to Taco Coronas, then around the corner to Tacos Castillos. Walked to the other side of the city and stopped for a Margarita at El Corralito. Excellent! Touristy spot. Can't miss it. Pink building. The down the street to the La Guerrerense stand. Really good. Stuffed and went back to the ship. A really good day. In July we tried to go brewery hopping but found most of them were closed or opened later.
  20. Just another note. After the cruise, the shuttle (which was a big bus) just dropped us off at the second parking structure and we had to lug all our luggage up the street to the 3rd structure. They also had us pay when we first parked at the 3rd spot ($100) and we were hoping our car would be there when we returned as it was not in a covered spot and just off the main street.
  21. I thought the same thing. Here's what happened with us. Wasn't fun. We'll just an update to my question, they didn't let us park in the terminal and we were sent to an offsite structure with bad directions and we got lost, finally got to where they directed us too and they turned us away saying it was full, sent us to another structure that had a long line waiting to get into it, and cut off it right after the car in front of us. Sent us to a 3rd location up the street and then we had to walk back to the structure to get on the shuttle bus to the port. We arrived to the port finally an hour after our check in time. My husband was so mad! (along with many other people) Very frustrating way to start a cruise off. That being said, we had a nice time on the cruise and the Miracle was in very good shape.

  23. We are on the MIracle next week. (21st) Do you think we can park in the structure instead of offsite since Panorama won't be there? I just got an email update to our sailing, but it still shows the notice on it that parking for Miracle is offsite.
