  1. Same here! As for using the tub on the RS balcony, we have used it a token one time on each of our RS stays. As it's just a glorified bath tub, I much prefer the one in the bathroom. Most of our RS sailings have been in warm climates. Perhaps if we were in Alaska, we might use it more but a true hot tub keeps the heat of the water constant...
  2. Which would mean they would lose their deposit on the cancelled booking, right?
  3. Speaking of lobster rolls, I found they had far too much mayo for my liking. I also had the burger and it was great!
  4. Indeed it was the same way on our Labor Day sailing. Will definitely have water shoes next time.
  5. Dang it!! I had no idea! The porta potty was "nice" though...far better than concert or construction site quality.
  6. My experience has been that the OBC is automatically added to your ship account and as you spend, the amount is deducted from that OBC amount and once it runs out, it reverts to charges that will be paid by the credit card you linked to your account. If you are in the casino you can use your cruise card to add funds to your players account at one of the slot machines. Again, this comes from either your linked credit card or your OBC. My understanding is that the OBC portion of the account is used first. If you want to use OBC specifically for grats, you may have to speak with someone in guest services to have it applied. This was my experience on Seashore. Others with more MSC experience may be able to further clarify.
  7. Hard to know which chart is the most recent as I didn't see a date (not that I looked terribly hard). Good to know, though! While I like to have a few sailings on the books, I rarely book that far out so probably won't ever apply to me. I tend to be 6 months out or less kinda girl. The covid shut down didn't help with this thought train because like so many, we had several cruises cancelled, moved, shifted, lifted, you name it! 🙂
  8. I was just reading through the tiers and benefits and noticed that beginning with the Gold level one is entitled to $50 OBC. We status matched to Gold and our first cruise with MSC was a few weeks ago. We didn't get a $50 OBC. We have a quick 4 nighter booked for November and again, I don't see $50 OBC in my account. Is this something you have to ask for or am I just reading the chart all wrong? Or perhaps my sailing wasn't a "Select Departure"...
  9. We were told that we could have a regular sized bottle of liquor or a bottle of wine. By regular size, I mean the size between the airplane size and standard size. Would that be a fifth? Sorry, don't really know my liquor sizing like I do wine 🙂. Sounds like OP was in a Royal Suite so perhaps they get two?
  10. You can pay the difference to upgrade but I recommend you check to see if the things you want on the Premium package are even available before doing so. I've read several reviews of late that indicated that due to supply issues, many of the Premium wines and spirits were not available or had run out. I believe you can upgrade once on board and you can do so up to 2 days after departure...giving you time to see what's available.
  11. Our covid test results have always had a time stamp on them that indicate when the test was conducted. I think they put the requirement in hours instead of days because for some, it will actually come down to literal hours to be within the window. I'm not sure how closely this is monitored. I noticed people looking at the date more than the time the test was conducted. I haven't cruised over seas since the restart so others can probably better guide you here. PS...Go Dawgs!
  12. Absolutely not true. YC deposits are non-refundable. You can do a one-time courtesy change to another cruise if necessary, but you cannot cancel and get a refund minus $50. If this is coming from the same lady who jerked you around with the paperwork, then yes, she should be fired because she is clearly incompetent.
  13. Covid rules are more relaxed now. You show your docs when checking in along with everything else. You will indicate if you are vaccinated or nonvaccinated in the on board check in. After your check in is complete your cruise packet will be emailed to you and it will contain an additional health questionnaire which you will present at check in as well. I’m not aware of a specific Covid dependent check in time. can’t help you with the room service question but the private island is by far my favorite of all the cruise lines. Very nicely laid out with several places to set up for the day. Never felt crowded.
  14. I really wish I understood all the comments. I guess I need to study roulette. I’m generally a slot girl but looking to expand before my next cruise.
  15. Bo, I’ve been gone for a while but since my return I noticed that I didn’t see your presence. So glad to see you chiming in! There’s something comforting in the familiar.
  16. Here’s another link that might help: https://top10best.how/portable-car-seat?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Search&t_source=64&utm_campaign=6058&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7rDZ6OWf-gIVw_hRCh0IWwmSEAAYAiAAEgLy9PD_BwE
  17. My guess is that it will depend on current rules and regulations regarding toddlers and car seats in the state of Florida. In my state car seats are required to age 4 and recommend to age 7. Here you go: https://bernsteininjurylaw.com/blog/florida-car-seat-laws/#:~:text=In Florida%2C the rules are, that's integrated with the vehicle.
  18. Yes, I think I misunderstood the part of my message that the poster was responding to. I offer my sincere apologies. I usually quote any portion of a response that I’m commenting on to avoid confusion but I should have realized.
  19. Please accept my apologies. When you said “not true” I thought you were responding to my comment, “a huge mistake, if true”. Meaning it wasn’t a huge mistake. What we have here is a classic case of a message being lost in translation. Again, my apologies. 😊😊
  20. Says you. Cruises appeal to a wide variety of people for a wide variety of reasons. Cheers!
  21. We aren't huge gamblers but we do enjoy the casino in the evening after dinner or before a show. I read this headline to DH and his response was, "If that's the case, then cancel our March cruise and book on a different line." I feel like that would be the sentiment of many passengers. A huge mistake on the part of Celebrity if true.
  22. I like to chill in bed at the end of the day/night with a little Netflix before I go to sleep. DH has other ideas 😁 but to each his own.
  23. Anybody on board currently who can attest to new hours of operation? I just can't imagine that Celebrity would close themselves out of a casino donation from passengers after 8 PM.
