  1. We always prepay and ALWAYS leave then a tip at the end, just like a leave good bartenders tips. Good service doesn't go unnoticed with me. We don't know if their employer recognizes their good service or even care, so the least we can do is let them know they are appreciated, especially NOW with after having not been able to work for what a year and a half.
  2. As of 8/24/22 all restrictions are lifted. Effective August 24, 2022, all travelers—vaccinated and unvaccinated—are permitted to enter the Cayman Islands without the need of any additional documents or health-related steps due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Travelers are NOT required to: Apply for a Travel Declaration or Travel Request via Travel Cayman Present a negative COVID-19 test Show proof of vaccination Wear masks
  3. Sounds like THEY didn't give themselves enough time first off. The day before you leave? That's on them. At least they had back up appointments, which is what EVERYONE should be doing if you aren't going to a CVS or Walgreens drive thru service. I have free gov't tests as well as the tests I purchased from Optum that are proctored by eMed and I will be scheduling both, one on the 3rd day with OnPoint and one on the 2nd day with eMed before our set sail date. Not saying OnPoint wasn't in the wrong by rescheduling, but it appears more people have not had an issue than those that do.
  4. With that being said.....what time are the rooms available? I have to sneak away from my travel companions and decorate the room for a 1ST TIME CRUISER. Need to be stealth-like without raising suspicion that I was the one who did it. Any room decor ideas for a 1st timer would be awesome too. I already picked up a banner that I have to personalize to hang in the room.
  5. NCL's website says specifically that the only thing The Bahamas are requiring is tests for the unvaccinated. If you call the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism office ( I called the one in Florida) they will tell you each cruise line has their own protocol and NCL's protocol is a test within 3 days. Royal wither hasn't negotiated terms with the Bahamas or they have chosen to NOT allow unvaxed yet from certain states. Age Vaccinated Unvaccinated < 2 years Nothing Required. Nothing Required. ≥ 2 years Proof of completed series of one-dose or two-dose vaccination regimen at embarkation. Provide proof of one of the following: 1. Negative COVID-19 antigen test within three days of the embarkation date 2. NAAT test (i.e., PCR) within three days of embarkation date 3. COVID-19 Recovery Certificate*
  6. Well we have a cruise in January that stops in The Bahamas on Norwegian, and nowhere in their new protocols does it say on their website we can't get off the ship. This is what it says for the Bahamas, Provide proof of one of the following: Age Vaccinated Unvaccinated < 2 years Nothing Required.
  7. Request security to review the camera footage and see if the bag was picked up, and by who, and see if they headed to the casino (again more cameras EVERYWHERE). This isn't rocket science and even an amateur slueth can figure out how to find out what happened.
  8. The ones from the post office (the gov't ones) are FDA approved, for EAU and there is even a QR code on the side of the box along with an app to download for taking the test.
  9. Yes I read all that, but it this an acceptable method rather than the AbbottBinax Tests you purchase and then go thru EMed ? This is a much cheaper alternative using one of the free tests and then only paying like $16 for the supervised virtual visit. Of course I got a Carnival employee that wanted to just read thru what is on the website and didn't know.
  10. FOR UNVACCINATED: Does anyone know if there is any truth to being able to used the "free" governments COVID Tests and paying for the Certified Teleservice Virtual Appointments thru OnPoint? Carnival says "all unvaccinated guests age 2 and older must provide the negative result of a lab-administered or supervised self-administered PCR or antigen COVID test taken up to 3 days before embarkation. Test Anywhere with a Video Appointment Using Any Over The Counter Approved Home Test and Receive Lab Certified Results! Virtual Appointment with Onpoint Testing Assistant Lab Certified Results Approved For Travel Can be Used With Any At Home Over The Counter Test One Person Per Appointment Anyone have any info on this? TIA
  11. This is how we do it on Royal, but with the three different packages on Carnival I was just curious if we needed just the basic or go higher. Only one of us are going to get it since it's really just for emergency for those left behind. Thank you.

  13. And still need to be vaccinated also....makes ZERO sense. I can cruise out of FL on Carnival and Norwegian without a vaccine TO THE BAHAMAS and only have to take test.
  14. When you've been banned from cruising for 2 YEARS for being punished for personal health choices, darn right. Don't really care if Royal misses it or not.
  15. No prize for third place.....we have already booked Carnival (which I dislike with a passion) and Norwegian. Royal lost out on my $$.
  16. DO they have people in the US because I would definitely have a problem with the language barrier/accent. Had a REALLY HARD understanding this person.
  17. Well it also doesn't say you can't get off the ship in the Bahamas, only in Grand Cayman and Bermuda that I've seen. NCL and Carnival both don't say you can disembark because I have a cruise booked for January that goes to Great Stirrup Cay and there is no disclaimer, and on the email someone posted in this thread from Carnival it also does not list The Bahamas as one you can't disembark to. That's why it's confusing.
  18. I am still VERY confused which is making it difficult to jump into a booking that includes the Bahamas. These cruise lines ( with the exception of RCL because they can't seem to get it together at all) are lifting vaccines but don't mention the vaccine requirement for the Bahamas. This is on the Bahamas.com website: Please note: All cruise ship passengers ages 12 and older must be fully vaccinated to enter a port in The Bahamas, including a cruise line’s private island. Any person who is ineligible for the COVID-19 vaccination due to medical contraindications is exempt from this requirement. If Carnival can sail to The Bahamas with unvaccinated, why can Royal Caribbean not?
  19. I usually call thru Casino Royale and get right thru, but when I have had to call the regular customer service line this past week, it's been at least an hour wait. Sometimes they give the option to get a call back and sometimes they don't. I've also called NCL a few times and had less than a 5-minute wait.
  20. Went everywhere without a mask, didn't get sick. We live with viruses in our body DAILY, but if people want to avoid them like the plague, like it or not your immune system doesn't know how to respond when you do get a serious one. I think the facial coverings really hurt a lot of people instead of helping them and unfortunately the fear is what keeps people wearing them.
  21. Well for right now, we are only traveling to the Bahamas and Key West, neither of which require vaccines. I found the below on the bahamas.com website with nothing specifying anything different between air/cruise ships. Effective 19 June 2022, all unvaccinated travellers ages 2 and older will be required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test — either a negative RT-PCR test or a Rapid Antigen test — taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to travel and present the negative test results at check-in before travel to The Bahamas.
