  1. None of it makes any sense. NCL opened up ALL cruises, regardless of where you are traveling from and/or to, if you are unvaccinated. But yet Royal still has all these exceptions. Maybe the Caribbean islands are staggering allowing unvaccinated people by cruise line so they aren't overwhelmed with amount of unvaccinated coming in....I don't know. If NCL can allow us after their September date they posted, then what is the hold up with other cruise lines? I am very loyal to Royal, but they don't appear to be loyal in return, which is why my first cruise back is with NCL!
  2. It looks like based on the itineraries for these three home ports it is all Mexico cruises with the exception of one that included Belize and Roatan.
  3. Booked our first cruise since the announcement, actually I have it on a 3 day courtesy hold, but when booking, I wasn't taken to the page where you select to add prepaid gratuity to the cruise.....anyone know why? And its' not showing on the breakdown of charges either on the invoice. I think I've had this problem in the past when you take advantage of the "freebies" they include (not really) in your booking it skips the prepaid gratuity option. ANYONE KNOW WHY?
  4. We shouldn't be worried about what other people do or don't do. We all are responsible for OURSELVES. We all have choices and free will. People need to get back to worrying about themselves and not what others around them are doing, if they are wearing a mask, if they are jabberdoo'd, if they wash their hands, if they test.
  5. August 14 is not noted in the top banner under the Healthy Sail Center on their website, just talks about testing updates. So would you be able to provide the link to the page you are getting your info from?
  6. Agreed! Michael Bayley jumped the gun on July 28th with his announcement about welcoming EVERYBODY onboard after August 8 and then went MIA when August 8th came and went with no update on their website. So it seems RCL is still vaccine required.
  7. Didn't address the obvious questions folks are DEFINITELY going to have: 1) Is there a certain % they are going with for the unvaccinated (like 20%) 2) Are exemptions going to be required for the unvaxed?
  8. Does anyone know if you add a THIRD person (I know they wouldn't be free) to the FREE cruise offers they send? I have several waiting to be used but I know my son would not go without his girlfriend, which makes three of us.
  9. I was asking regarding Royal Caribbean, sorry. For some reason I ended up in Celebrity.
  10. So this has changed from 2017 where if one adult purchases the alcohol package all adults must purchase also? And it's always been 2 bottles wine per cabin, not per adult..... so this changed also?
  11. Carnival is following what the Bahamas government issued.....Virgin is slacking on their updates it seems
  12. Do they email everything to you that is required by cruise lines. They are wanting all kinds of info from your test. Sorry for the dumb questions, I have NEVER done a test so it's all Greek to me.
  13. I am aware. I am speaking only of cruises after the 8th. I am booked on a class reunion cruise in November out of Ft.Laud and final payment is due next week. The reunion coordinator who is in touch with the RCCL coordinator is telling everyone NOT to cancel, they are still working out the details with RCCL. And the cruise was allowed to be booked months ago not being vaxed.
  14. I am in Pinellas county. The only issue I have is I'm afraid I will get some overly aggressive tester ramming that Q tip farther then just the nostril area and then getting the results timely with all the documentation the cruise lines want (name of lab, testing date, lab #, etc. etc. etc) One screw up and my cruise will be done before it even gets started.
  15. Well his wife is also a travel agent and gets info directly from the cruise lines.
  16. The vaccine was only made for the sole purpose to prevent SEVERE illness/death and reduce hospitalizations (that is their claim). This was never about immunity, clearly, with the amount of people getting COVID numerous times after being double stuck + multiple boosters. So I think they need to stop calling it a vaccine, because that's not what it is. And changing the definition to fit their narrative doesn't help matters.
  17. That is how I understood it. We'll have to wait and see what happens because this was just announced yesterday. Maybe the cruise lines will work with government officials to see what the final say is. Also Grand Caymen is another one saying testing required.
  18. Yes, that is where the announcement came from....so I look for another announcement to come out about the testing across all cruise lines.
  19. You are aware they changed the definition of vaccine when all this started right? The definition of vaccine on August 8, 2020 on Dictionary.com was this: " any preparation used as a preventive inoculation to confer immunity against a specific disease, usually employing an innocuous form of the disease agent, as killed or weakened bacteria or viruses, to stimulate antibody production."
  20. Also keep in mind VV is only 10% unvaxed so it's a crap game when you book. Still too many what if's right now, and I don't prefer the "word salad" these cruise lines are dishing out. I think they are flying by the seat of their pants now that the CDC doesn't have their say in the matter, it's like the cruise lines are totally lost.
  21. Yea well I actually work for my health insurance company, soooooo there's that. Also RCCL website specifically says: "Supervised telehealth tests are not accepted for unvaccinated guests – only for vaccinated guests." And "Telehealth testing at home is only accepted for vaccinated guests, and only when it is conducted under live video supervision." So we would have to go somewhere and get it done which means we risk not getting results back in time. But maybe they haven't updated their website yet and our cruise isn't until November, so maybe things will change another 10 times before then.
  22. I am understanding it is EVERYONE. I follow a YouTuber that also is a travel agent.
  23. I was asking specifically for UNVAXED people, the tests they require may vary for those.
