  1. I think it's all just optics at this point. They want to be done with it I'm sure. I mean look at all the people freaking out because they are allowing the unvaxed to sail now, can you imagine the uproar when they say NO MORE TESTING for anyone. I know they shouldn't care what one group of people says over another...maybe it's about how the media portrays them and reports it. I mean they never wanted to shut down in the first place, they were just taking orders from those that abused that power to shut them down and keep them shut down for so long. Seems like maybe they forgot to handle their own businesses because they were told for so long what to do and how to do.
  2. Try this page and pick where you are sailing FROM in the drop down box. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/the-healthy-sail-center/getting-ready-to-cruise and here: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/will-i-have-to-take-a-test-before-i-cruise#united-states
  3. And THOSE are the type of people that will ruin this for everybody else. If the cruise lines hear that enough times, and they do have people that troll these boards I'm sure, they will put an end to the unsupervised testing. Kinda like how the drink packages work now, if one purchases a package you ALL have to purchase one. Thank The "Sharer's" for that!
  4. If I were cruising next week, I would be taking one of the proctored tests until enough people are reporting the process has no glitches. Our Royal cruise is in November so I think enough time will have passed where there would be no issues. Still taking a test or two with me in my carry-on JUST IN CASE!!!!
  5. The test might be the same but the process is different because it is supervised. Same steps, just the fact that someone is watching YOU take the test, not your dog.
  6. Yes sorry, I should have put that in the title. UNVAXED folks that are opting for the Unsupervised test. Just want to see if they are encountering problems.
  7. Now that we've reached the date where unsupervised testing is accepted to board RCCL, it would be nice to get actual feedback on how the process is going so that others don't make the same mistakes, if there were any. Did the employees at check in know what they were doing? Anyone just bring in your negative test, or take a photo and show it? Should people be doing a "BACK-UP" supervised test? Please add your experience with your embarkation port.
  8. Now that we've reached the date where unsupervised testing is accepted to board, it would be nice to get actual feedback on how the process is going so that others don't make the same mistakes, if there were any. Did the employees at check in know what they were doing? Anyone use the name, date and negative test result on a piece of paper option with a photo? Please add your experience with your embarkation port.
  9. No 15 is way beyond what I could ever drink, but if I'm gambling and have some fru fru drinks, I can knock back about 5 of those, especially if they are not too sweet. I'm gonna have to see if they have Jack Daniels Honey Whiskey. I LOVE the Honey Lemonade on NCL, those can sneak up on you.
  10. All depends on where you are from. Floridians might find it "crisp" to " a little chilly", especially at night. Northerners will say it's like a heat wave. Water temps are a different story....little too chilly for us native Floridians.
  11. We will need a new thread when the new protocol goes into effect and see how the experience went at the port for check in with the unsupervised tests. Personally, I will be doing both (supervised and unsupervised), as well as bringing more tests with me just in case someone at check in doesn't know what is going on.
  12. I have that for my cruise coming up, but I also have the drink package. How does that work when I am in the casino gambling? Do they take it out of my 15 drink limit for the my drink package or is it not counted? And do you have to go up to the bar and get your own drink?
  13. The ONLY thing we ever do in Cozumel is the Bar Hop and WE LOVE IT! We just booked a cruise to go to Cozumel and back just to hop. Don't let the name fool you, you don't have to be a drinker. I am not a drinker, you get 1 shot at each stop and the rest is up to you if you want to purchase anything else. We get food at each stop too, just one small thing. Like chips and guac, or coconut shrimp. The peanut butter tequila shot is the best!
  14. So curious to know why you can purchase liquor thru the fun shop for your cabin and have it there in your stateroom when you board to consume throughout the cruise, but liquor purchased from the shops onboard can't be delivered until the night before your cruise ends. ANYONE KNOW what the difference is in this. I know the bottles you purchase thru the Fun Shop have to stay in the room.
  15. If you took a photo, Google search the image to see if they come up online, like maybe Wayfair or an actual company. They are most likely mass produced for huge clients, like cruise ships, but some companies might "tweak" the design to sell to the individual customer base.
  16. Just bring your own. That's what we do. I always carry a little crossbody bag around the ship anyway, just thrown a few in there. The last couple of cruises I went on I had to literally ask for a straw every time. And then they want to give you one of those skinny stirring straws. Just bring your own.
  17. Please post your experience. They are getting a somewhat bad rap because of 2 YouTubers review calling them out as being a scam because they didn't get a refund for missing their rescheduled appointment. I've seen a lot of good reviews but for some reason people will take one persons experience(or two people in this case) as gospel.
  18. Check out their updated testing protocols, they don't need to be supervised any longer if I am reading it correctly. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/the-healthy-sail-center?icid=hlthys_wrnssn_hlt_nbrdxp_pghdr_3467 We will begin accepting results from self-administered home tests. See full testing details https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-tests-are-accepted-where-to-submit-the-results
  19. Their website: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/the-healthy-sail-center?icid=hlthys_wrnssn_hlt_nbrdxp_pghdr_3467 And their testing requirements! Accepted Tests for U.S. Cruises Departing on or After September 5, 2022; with No Stops in Canada or Bermuda The test you take can be professionally administered by a health professional, such as a doctor or pharmacist, or you can use a home test kit. Home test kits for these sailings are not required to be administered under live video supervision. You will present the negative test result at the time of boarding. You can show it in the form of a printout, an email, or an app screen from the test provider. Or you can show a picture of your negative home test on your phone, or present the actual negative test itself.   If you get a positive test result on your pre-cruise test, please call us at 1-800-256-6649 so we can rework your cruise plans.
  20. I doubt that also but at least we can cruise now. We have a Royal cruise in December that goes to the Bahamas only and we have to pay in full by Sunday.....so we've been waiting to see what Royal does. If they don't lift the shot requirement with all the other islands lifting them, then we will know its a Royal decision and no longer a Caribbean thing.
  21. Why still the holdout? https://thenassauguardian.com/govt-to-change-covid-19-entry-requirements-for-cruise-passengers/
  22. Well The Bahamas made their announcement and with Grand Cayman and St. Kitts also on board there should be ZERO reasons left the Royal is holding out!!! https://thenassauguardian.com/govt-to-change-covid-19-entry-requirements-for-cruise-passengers/
  23. It wasn't a "scam", their test was rescheduled and they missed their new time. They also scheduled their test the day before they were leaving (not enough time in case of problems), however they had a backup test already scheduled with another service, WHICH IS WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD DO if we have to rely on a test to get onboard. As far as being refunded, only about $16.00, maybe they need to give it some more time for the refund process/complaint to be escalated.
