  1. If olives are a normal part of a "lobster cake", I wonder if Princess has any liability for your accident. There is a general rule that natural food particles might be in prepared food, and it is kind of an "eaters beware" variation on "buyers beware." "Courts have found that foreign objects in food are considered those that are not reasonably expected upon consumption. For example, stones, rocks or small pebbles may wind up in food. Glass, paper and plastic may also make their way into food. ... However, courts have been reluctant to provide recovery simply because any type of foreign object has been found in food. For example, claims have failed for items that can reasonably be anticipated in food, such as fish bones in soup or cherry pits in cherries " I hope your dental procedures go well.
  2. Many ships are in Cabo only from 6:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or some other absurd window. Because Cabo is a tender port, that doesn't leave much time for excursions. If your ship's schedule allows it, I would select Cabo over PV for whale watching.
  3. Unfortunately, the "triple zero" wheel really is a thing. I've never played one, but I have seen them in Vegas.
  4. We stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront, directly across the street from the cruise terminal. Wonderful hotel, amazing staff! The bellman told us that as long as our luggage was picked up by 11:00 a.m., it would be on the ship in our cabin without our doing anything. So I called for a bellman at 10:00 a.m. and all I did was hand over a generous tip. All I carried to the ship was my laptop and a carry-on bag with our medicines and my wife's jewelry.
  5. I wonder which results in larger losses, (1) people claiming falsely that beverage charges on their account were not theirs, or (2) people giving someone else's cabin number for beverage charges. I preferred the old days when I had to sign and was given a copy of each drink charge slip.
  6. My understanding is that it is up to each captain and that there is no rule. I’ve only overnighted in Cabo on Princess, and the tender service stopped from about 11 pm until 7:00 am.
  7. I assume that if I am being charged for a drink that we did not order, the person who ordered, received and drank that beverage did not get charged. So for every erroneous charge, there is an error in some other guest’s favor.
  8. It is walkable, but I’d probably take a pulmonia. It isn’t really worthwhile, but it is safe.
  9. I am happy that they have options that suit many (most?) of us! And thanks to info from Cruise Critic, on my last princess cruise, I for the first time went to the I, C, during breakfast hours to try a doughnut. I had never known that the IC served donuts in the morning.
  10. I enjoy being seated at a table with linens and nice flatware and glassware. But breakfast in the MDR is a once-a-cruise experience for me. As a tea drinker, I hate that I will be offered coffee multiple times before lukewarm water is brought. I usually find the pancakes cold and the butter frozen. The eggs are often poorly cooked and cold. In the buffet, I pour hot water into two tea cups immediately and let it steep while I get OJ and food. The pancakes are still cold, but my eggs are warm and properly cooked. My muffin or bagel comes right out of the toaster, so it is hot. Instead of “wasting” 90 minutes in the MDR, my buffet breakfast takes about 40 minutes.
  11. I’ve never sought to do this, but a sea lion jumped into our boost once! Just up on the transom, not into the cockpit.
  12. Depending on what generation you are, Haight-Ashbury for nostalgia. Fisherman's Wharf (and Boudin's Bread), the Buena Vista for lunch, Ghiridelli's Sq (I am not looking up the spelling). Lots of things to see and do in this area, far too much for one day! Alcatraz? Ferry to Sausalito for lunch?
  13. I want printouts of everything! My luggage is tagged before I leave my home. I did buy luggage tag holders, but I did not realize they came in multiple sizes, and the ones I bought before my last cruise were too narrow for my tags. I usually use plastic shipping tape to coat the luggage tags to give them incredible strength. Why would I want to waste time and energy at the baggage check area, possibly being sent to a different line? Baggage check-in is enough of a madhouse without making it worse! Tag the bags at home, unless you don't know your cabin assignment!
  14. For several years, I have been unwilling to use the made-an-omelette station because somehow ham was added to my omelette. I just won’t risk another screw-up.
  15. Warren, if you can't find the Luggage Tags and Summary, don't be surprised! There is a pull down tab on the upper right hand side (more like the middle) of a screen, kind of discretely hidden, on the Princess website. Not in the app. I would never have found it if not for the helpful Cruise Critic members, because the eyes are drawn elsewhere.
  16. So you saws the porter we got on our last cruise!!
  17. Steelers, thanks for the review. One of my local land-based casinos offered me a voucher for a free NCL cruise, Seven day interior cabin. After checking the cost to upgrade, we decided to pass on a free cruise. Your review confirms the wisdom of our choice!
  18. You do realize that 18 days is MORE THAN two weeks, right? So you are fretting BEFORE they are even supposed to be shipped.
  19. I think Echo is correct. If you have $600 free play, and stop playing once you have played the free play, you probably did not earn any points. But most of us continue to play with the winnings from the first $600 free play. That additional play does earn points.
  20. Guys, thanks for the education! I'm like an overburdened pack mule when we board, with all of my wife's carry-ons, so I'll keep on going to the cabin first to drop off our junk! I don't have an escort to get me a drink, but I can usually find a trough of cold water once I have my SeaPass.
  21. I don't know about Da Kahuna's experience of getting his first drink before he got his SeaPass card, but I had to get my SeaPass card before getting a drink -- the SeaPass card id'd me to the bartender. No card, no drink! That is a darn good reason to go to get your SeaPass card first thing! As Quilter notes, going to grab the Card also lets you put valuables in the safe, so you don't have to drag them around.
  22. I thought it was another thread about food quality and food poisoning.
  23. Generally, there is a short line of passengers waiting to check-in at their muster station. There are NO safety instructions, no lecture, no briefing at the muster station. You just check-in to show that you have found it. Celebrity does NOT want you to bring your life jacket. You can watch the lecture on your phone or in the cabin TV. You can watch it on your phone any time on embarkation day, before the ship sails. Including while you are waiting to board the ship. I usually watch it while unpacking my things, after which I turn the TV off for the rest of the cruise.
  24. It is Mexico! You will be approached by tour salesmen as you leave the ship! Even before you get to the “duty free shops.” I don’t know if they have snorkeling. Snorkeling in the Mex Riv is NOT as good as snorkeling in the Caribbean.
