we love celebrity and are currently booked on the "connie" but when we looked for an 8 or 9 day cruise back to the abc's we spotted an 8 day on the rccl explorer and wound up booking it for oct of 22" for a midship balcony for $600 plus pre paid grats and $250 in obc.....I like to be loyal to celebrity but that is a heck of a deal for a nice cruise....Sometimes one has to look at his options....just sayin'

covid quarantine cabins on deck 7 on the "connie".
retired dude replied to retired dude's topic in Celebrity Cruises
i got my answer today directly from the ship through the efforts of a rep at celebrity...life is good -
Had to switch from our deck 7 balcony cabin to another cabin on our last cruise on the "connie" and evidently that is still the case....Any idea how much longer they will continue to use those cabins for that and what cabins are they using to replace them for those of us that have them booked.....Findling out on the day of cruise that our cabin is being changed is not the best way to handle that but evidently celebrity could care less. thanks for any positive feedback.

for those of us that contracted covid onboard the ship, that philosophy does not hold h2o...The captain begged folks to don their masks and we had to sit there and watch hundreds of folks laughing and making jokes about the captain's wishes ......Got very very sick and i dont things are "back to normal" unless you condone watching people suffer like we did.....

wear a friggin mask or stay home!!!!!!!!!

we give the waiter nd assit waiter a tip every night. it isn't much probably $5 each, but i do admit that the service is better than if you don't...kinda like the old days in vegas, you tip , you get taken care of, you don't you don't.....life is good

wonder if the "bums" that i see in the mdr on chic night would wear flips and shorts to jeff ruby's....just sayin'.....used to work in mt adams, and appreciate your "class" ...It is a rare commodity on most of the cruises that we go on.

Recent Explorer Cruisers-Questions
retired dude replied to GWP-OKC's topic in Royal Caribbean International
my "big box TA" just called me and said that according to her contact at rccl that the explorer will still stop at bonaire for our oct sailing ......I told her that i would check back with her in sept 22' because i know that rccl can speak with a forked tongue on many occasions....I have no desire to go to gr caiman for the 10th time and i sure dont want to cut my time in curacao in half......i guess patience is a virtue. we just could not pass up the deal that we got on this cruise, it was unreal......take care everybody...B&B in clearwater. -
Recent Explorer Cruisers-Questions
retired dude replied to GWP-OKC's topic in Royal Caribbean International
we are booked on the explorer in oct of 22' and we cant find out if the explorer is going to stop in bonaire or do like it did in may and take us to grand cayman and a half a day in curacao. We asked the TA if the ship was going to do bonaire and she said that rccl told her that they had not cancelled that port....I dont know whether to believe rccl or not.... -

The CATS holy wars thread...

allergic to the four legged variety and ditto for this so called musical. -
my reflection on this topic: we are happy that you served in the armed forces and we are glad that you have a favorite ball club, but please dont be rude and wear the hats in the dining room..Leave them in the room or wear them outdoors but not in the dining areas.....It is just a matter of having some class..just sayin"

Thanksgiving capacity prior to covid?
retired dude replied to DrSea's topic in Royal Caribbean International
and they wonder why the covid still sickens us....... -
thanks to all for the positive comments, they are appreciated......Our final payment is tomorrow and my DW will try again to get this done....we have several cruises booked with both lines in the future, but i have to admit that we have gotten to like celeb more than rccl..I just wish my checkbook felt the same way....have a great day everybody and thanks again.....B&B in clearwater.

we will try again as our final payment is due next week....I just dont want to wait until in get on the ship to go through going past hundreds of folks that are in line and checking in with the host and doing the right thing to get to our table and having to listen to the people in line make nasty comments about the couple that checked up in line, even though we were doing the right thing. On our last cruise the host that handled the seating for everyone finally just told us to go directly to our assigned table and avoid the nastiness that we had to listen to from the folks in line...thanks again for your help.
