  1. @jimgev Thank you for checking in. Prayers for all around you in FL. @Vict0riannThat caterpillar is probably a brown variant of the Swallowtail butterfly. The eyes are a deterrent to stop birds from eating them. I think when you moved it it may have upset it forming its' cocoon - I would like to hear what the butterfly center has to say. It seems the more spectacular the caterpillar the better the end product. Cecrophia moth caterpillar and the moth @grapau27That is me during Ravens games or a big horse race. Thank you for the beautiful photos of Toulon and environs! Prayers for everyone in Florida devastated by Ian. 🙏
  2. Good morning! I am enjoying my coffee and giving thanks my elderly friend, Frank at age 97, is still progressing. Today is also home made cookies day which would go wonderful with a cup of coffee. I am so glad I found a decaf that tastes just like regular. An interesting quote, so few people read in order to live. So little attention is paid to history and science these IMO too much popular culture etc. Thank you for the Daily Reports and the celebrations. So happy to see many getting ready to step aboard a ship. The steak looks tasty, the rum cocktail looks like a good happy hour drink on a BHB and the wine looks tasty too. Thanks for all the time to pull these together each day. @kazuthank you for the tip on foliage needing to go into the bags for pick up. Dry is always easier to deal unless it is windy. I have cut back the lush foliage on my Canna lilies but we need more cold weather for me to be able to dig them. I have so many that I am going to give some to a gardening friend. She grows Dahlias so she knows the drill for winter storage. Today is polishing furniture, dusting and vacuuming and cleaning 2 bathrooms. A good project while I wait for it to warm up a bit outside. Prayers for all that have suffered the wrath of Ian and Fiona and for the people of Ukraine. 🙏 Have a wonderful Saturday!
  3. +1 🍾🪰Meant to add a cruise ship. ⛴️Hope your Celebrity cruise doesn't have flies. Can't delete that emoji. 🤪 Roy thanks for confirming that we figured right. We will miss a great game. Former weather guy Justin Berk has a great weather website and he had a good prediction. Glad you got your booster. I guess lack of interest here DF was able to walk in with me and get his with no appointment.
  4. Happy Friday! Almost the weekend with non-stop football and a Saturday full of horse racing too. We got back from New Buffalo and enjoyed broasted chicken and then got to work outside. John mowed the lawn and I pulled and cut back Virginia Creeper and Wisteria that we coming up where they aren't wanted. Then I treated the stubs with poison ivy killer. Tomorrow I can finish my fall cut back and finally get the Wet & Forget sprayed. Prayers for all who have had to deal with the horror of Ian. We have friends we know from the next lake up from us in the UP and they live on Pine Island. Weather Channel was showing the damage there this morning, so many of the homes were trailers. I am sure they evacuated. Prayers for all in SC and NC as you have to deal with Ian. It appears we made the right decision to cancel our road trip to Baltimore for the Ravens game. Prayers for all on our care list and the people of Ukraine. Thank you for the prayers for my friend Frank. He sent a couple of texts today complaining about the rehab nursing home he is in and also that he will probably be released to home next week. Thank you for the Daily Reports! I'll take the cocktail and champagne but pass on the fish. A local restaurant makes a similar dish. Thanks for the photos of today's port in Greece. @StLouisCruisersthank you for the picture of those charming pups, pretty enough to brighten everyone's day. Our drive back home was beautiful as we mainly take back roads and there had been a frost and the Maples are beginning to show some color. Have a great weekend!! February 22, 2022.
  5. We were on the NS in a Neptune last February-March. We used the card and got everything that we asked for including bagel and lox. We did order many of our dinners for dining on our balcony and we asked for a lot for our dinners (double entrees and a couple from CO) and tipped our waiter accordingly. Perhaps that is why we got a bespoke breakfast.
  6. @dfishDebbie, congratulations on you new home! I love the ceiling height and the layout of the kitchen and you have a nice yard too! Congratulations!! @StLouisCruisersthanks you for the photos of Nha Trang it looked like a nice port with a lot of history. Your DDs Halloween tree is so cute, the candy corn ornaments are sweet!
  7. Good morning! We called an audible yesterday after cancelling our trip to Baltimore we decided to head southwest to New Buffalo MI. We have a couple more cool days so it was a good chance to have fun before getting back home to try to get a summer's worth of yard work caught up. So we left after my rheumatologist appointment and took to the highway. Thank you for the Daily Reports!! All of us on CC probably all should celebrate Maritime Day just thinking about a cruise. Haven't been to a Broadway road show in years. Whenever we went to NYC I would rather have a wonderful dinner than a show. @dfish thank you for the pork carnitas recipes, the photos all looked yummy. @cat shepard Thanks for researching the German Pinot Noir. We had a few of those in Germany and they are getting better and better. @Quartzsite Cruiser thank you for the photos of the Marshall Islands. While in New Buffalo we will have lunch at the marina and go to a massive outlet mall. I need new running shoes ( I just walk ) and finding a good pair for over pronators online has been tough. I may need to change brands from my beloved Saucony. Prayers for all in Ian's path. The videos of the destruction on the west coast of FL are very sad. Have a wonderful day!
  8. Debbie, thank you for all the wonderful chicken skillet recipes. I love the last one with the beans and thighs. I had a hard time finding skin on thighs at Costco last week. I hope your offer is accepted today! Continued prayers for all in the path of Ian. @Cruising-alongHappy Anniversary!!! 🍾 @Horizon chaser 1957 Bon Voyage!! Have a wonderful cruise! ⛴️🍾 @Sharon in AZ I hope that you can get the medication that you need. My sister is always having to fight the insurance company to get her biologic Enbrel for RA. I was fortunate to start Enbrel in 1999 and the insurance company seems to leave me alone except for an annual prior auth. I had one spot of psoriasis show up about 5 years ago. I treated it with topical steroid and being already on Enbrel it never spread. Last year around Christmas it just waned away. My migraines seem to be taking a holiday. I don't think I have had 6 since we went to the cabin in May. Fingers crossed. We decided to cancel our trip to Baltimore. I looked at a weather website from a former weather guy in Baltimore and he had all the models and I just made a decision to cancel. I just listed my Bills tickets at face price because I think a lot of tickets will be unloaded on the exchange in the next couple of days. Better to get them sold. All my friends and family understand and we have next year to try again.
  9. Good morning! First off prayers for safety for all of our friends and family in FL. This one looks to be one to cause a lot of flooding and damage. Please stay safe! DF just called his brother in Lakeland who is probably going to sit tight in his east facing second floor condo. I just shot off an email to all my friends in family in Baltimore for an update on what the sensationalist weather people are calling for Sunday's Ravens game. My Accuweather shows Ian as a flag. It says Sunday off and on rain during the game but pretty solid while we do the two mile walkover from our parking garage in downtown. Winds sustained at 12 with gusts to 20 and 62 degrees. I will have to make a decision to list my tickets and stay home or hit the road and hope for the best later today. I have lived through enough hurricane remnants in Baltimore County to know that there can be a lot of rain but then some of the times they are completely wrong. Rich, thank you for the Daily Reports! I cannot wrap my brain around that quote. The chicken dish will probably be great, I think I will pass on the drink but the German wine looks great. Thanks to everyone who provides this content! Thanks to all who prayed for my friend Frank. He is complaining about the food and lack of a priest to give him communion so he is still feisty. He probably will be kicked out to a rehab today. Prayers for all on our care list, the people of FL and GA in Ian's path and the people of Ukraine. 🙏
  10. @Vict0riannI am sorry to hear about your Covid experience on your cruise. I hope your husband gets back on his feet. Both of you take it easy.
  11. Good Monday morning! It is 50 degrees here and will be jacket weather when we head to Grand Rapids Costco for DF's eye appointment. Too cool and possibly wet this AM to work outside. Thank you for all the work to pull the Daily Reports together. I love Gandhi's quote. Pass on the drink, waiting on the cocktail. The Grand Courtege Brut is often featured on BHB's wine list if I recall. I have not been to today's port but look forward to beautiful photos of Grecian seas. Asking for a quick single time prayer for my dear friend from the lake. This is the first year he didn't come up and since has moved to TN. He called yesterday to tell me he broke his hip. Please say a single prayer for my friend Frank age 97 for healing No need for him to be on our list. . I texted with him last night after the Packers game and he sounded in good spirits. Photo from 2020 our last dinner together for the season at our local tavern.
  12. Happy Rosh Hashanah! Thank you for the Daily Reports. I love the quote by Einstein. I always hated when I took piano lessons that I had to memorize pieces. Why when the notes are right there. @0106Thank you for the recipes! I loved the look of the Saltimbocca! Pass on the cocktail but the vino looks wonderful. I look forward to the Monterey photos. We never made it there because our trips would always veer north to Napa and Sonoma. Debbie, I am happy you found a house up in Midland. Praying that your offer is accepted and NO issues! @marshhawk We loved the DR coffee also. I brought back a pound for my sister for watering my plants when we were gone, among other things. I am afraid I won't be enjoying it in the future because decaf isn't a popular thing. BTW anyone interested in a tasty decaf the Kirkland in the three pound can. I really can't tell the difference. Prayers for those in the Canadian Maritimes. @kazuI am glad that it wasn't a direct hit for you. Wow making 100+ name tags for your roll call is a lot. We have 87 signed up for ours in January. Prayers for all on our care list. Thanks Roy for compiling this list for us. Prayers for the people in FL facing down Ian. Prayers for the people of Ukraine and PR. Today is another lousy day. It is always good to have a crummy day for football so I don't feel guilty not tending my yard. Go Ravens! Instead of 9 hours of football I think I will switch to the Yankees RedSox game at 7pm to see if Aaron Judge gets his homer for history. In 2020 we stayed at our cabin late into September to avoid Covid. We usually don't get this view while we are at the cabin. Colors should be changing quickly as they had their first frost at the fall equinox. Have a wonderful Sunday!
  13. Good morning! We have already been out today and back home. I got an Onstar email yesterday that I had battery problems with my truck. Thankfully it started after my hair appointment and I took it up to the dealership for a diagnosis. A bad cell so I needed a new battery. We left it overnight and got it this morning. I am glad they were able to get us in. When we pulled in prior to 8:30 there were six vehicles lined up in front of the service door. Then Tractor Supply for 40 pounds on sunflower seeds and a big bag of potting mix. I have to divide and repot a massive Philodendron soon. @HeartgroveThank you for the view of the Volendam in Trieste. We are at 96 days before boarding her. @kazuI am glad that you are weathering the storm. I hope that the storm heading for FL makes a a soft landing and heads out to sea. Thank you Rich for the Daily Reports! Another meal making me think heading to a Mexican restaurant. Our time share that I owned in Cancun for 28 years had a wonderful buffet breakfast and their chilaquiles were the best, especially along with an omelet and their great salsa. I think I will pass on the cocktail and wine today and am looking forward to pictures of Oman. Debbie, I hope your house hunting is successful! Prayers for all on our care list! In honor of fishing day results from a deep sea fishing trip in Cancun. It was very rough that day, so much so that we could see other boats propellers coming out of the water with each big wave. Amberjack.
  14. Thank you for your wonderful review of everything happening on your extended cruise. We are looking forward to hear what happens with COVID testing when you begin your South Pacific leg of your cruise. We are sailing on the Volendam December 27 and are doing a 7 day holiday cruise before carrying on our 74 day Grand SA. Will they test you onboard for the extended cruise a few days before taking on new passengers and departing San Diego. It will be a pain for us to have to get off and do a proctored test in FL or make it to Walgreen's for our test. Many thanks!
  15. Happy Friday! @aliaschiefThank goodness you caught yourself on your fall. Broken bones, broken teeth etc. So glad you made it through. Thank you for the Daily Reports. The quote is funny, we often think ourselves funny but are probably saying something stupid. Sardines are available at Costco from time to time and they are the nice big ones like in today's recipes. Pass on the cocktail but the cab sounds great. Looking forward to more great photos of Greenland. Prayers for all on our care list and for the people in the past and future path of Fiona. Prayers for the people and fighters in Ukraine. I am off to get my hair done at noon. Nothing like cutting the day right in half but it was the earliest I could get. Last haircut was in May and I am pretty shaggy. Have a wonderful day!! Here is the picture of the Rover I talked about last night. I am sitting by the Moselle River behind Weingut Heribert Kerrpen. Proabably 2002.
  16. Good evening. I am getting caught up with a lot going on today. My bivalent vaccination went well today. All I have is a sore arm and a dreadful need for a nap post supper. @dfishsafe travels to Michigan tomorrow. I know there will be a perfect home waiting for you. I am sorry the ongoing problems with windows and your basement. @*Miss G* Sincere condolences on your family's loss. That on top of your flight nightmares. I hope that you can work it out and get your refund from KLM. All the discussion on standard shifts in British cars we had an interesting automatic in Germany. I never learned to drive a standard so when we were driving to Alsace from Frankfurt I wanted to drive on the Autobahn, just something I always wanted to do. We picked up our requested automatic and lo and behold it was a beautiful blue Rover sedan. I loved driving that beautiful car down the Autobahn much faster than we could in the States. As usual we had our rental car misadventures. We opened the sunroof but when we reached our hotel in Riquevir we couldn't figure out how to close it. Then the owner's manual was in French 🙄. I may have been able to decipher German. As usual we had to rely on the kindness of strangers. I will try to see if I have a pic tomorrow. Rover story continues. We were staying in a castle lodging on the Rhine River. I looked out our window and saw a small commotion around our car. A lady backed into it and reported it to the front desk, very honest TY. We had to go to Bacharach and visit the police station for a report for the rental car company. Thankfully we had time and also spent some time there and bought a charming cuckoo clock. NFL Amazon Prime was a major fail tonight. Thankfully the Yankees Red Sox game is on. Hoping to see Judge hit 61.
  17. Good morning! A cool and windy day due here today. I hope to get all my plant cutback done out front today. Too many stops helping DF deal with the bagger system on our new, used lawn tractor. I did get a lot done though. Today I hope to get my bivalent Pfizer booster at my local Meijer store. When I signed up they only showed the regular booster but my local health department told me they had it. I will show up at 2:30 hoping for the best. With bad asthma and on Enbrel for RA I get every booster as early as I can when offered. Then dinner out someplace. Last night my sister brought some beautiful green beans which were wonderful with dinner. Rich, thank you for the Daily Reports, another great quote from JKR. Today's recipes almost all look like winners, especially the last stuffed recipe. @dfish I am sorry your Midland house deal fell through but happy that your inspection was not too painful. Thank you for taking the time to do al the recipes. A great way to start our day. I like Rye whiskey so I think the cocktail will be good, pass on the Prosecco. I have been to Anchorage on the way back from Denali. We spent the night before taking our red eye flight back to the mainland. Next time we go to Alaska we will do a round trip or B2B from Vancouver or Seattle. The airport was full of young people heading home after leaving their summer jobs. The biggest thing I remember is how fast people drove through the wide city streets, cross at your own risk. Prayers for those in the path of Fiona. Prayers for the people of Ukraine and all those on our care list. Have a great day!
  18. Happy Hump Day! We are having one more warm day before fall weather sets in. I plan on cutting back my front perennial garden and then behind that I will have to spray Wet & Forget on the siding. We had a damp summer and my large plants hold the humidity in that area. All is set for our trip to Baltimore. Lunch with a former employee now friend next Friday then dinner with my old neighbor at a favorite Italian restaurant. Next day is an afternoon late lunch with my late DH's son and DDIL. Sunday the big game then meeting dear friends for Sushi after the game. Finally on Monday I will have lunch with my Master Gardener friends for Indian food. DF doesn't care for Indian so I think this will be my first Indian since I left Baltimore County in 2016. @richwmnthank you for the Daily Reports and the ship's position. So happy to see the Volendam getting closer to passengers on board. The quote is a great on by JL. @dfishthe Carnitas look great and are having me thinking Mexican restaurant again but it will be broiled Cod for us. I am glad your foundation work kept your basement dry! The Iron Horse sparkler sounds wonderful. We visited there on our final Sonoma trip in 2013 with my DH. It was a lovely late fall afternoon tasting wine under their massive palm trees. @rafinmdthank you for the updates for us! Prayers for those in Puerto Rico, DR and Turks & Caicos. Prayers for all in Ukraine as Putin is saber rattling again. Wishes of good health for everyone. @Crazy For Cats You are great to remember the exact birthdates of your kitties. Happy Birthday to them! 🎂😽
  19. We made it to Costco and got it all unloaded. For the rest of get ready day I am going to send DF a YouTube of the Zaandam in the Antarctic. While we were in Costco we discussed luggage and said I would need to borrow one for my sister. We have FedEx forwarding. He said with the laundry service we won't need any more clothes that we had on our 21 day Caribbean cruise. 🤣 Thank you for the Trieste photos and gratefully today is a quiet day with no misadventures for anyone. Have a great rest of today! Nancy
  20. Good morning! I am sitting at the Chevy dealership waiting on an oil change. Then off to Costco. Someone just came in to check out and her perfume caused a coughing fit. It has been a long time since that has happened, sitting behind Russian women at voir dire at our courthouse. Just after getting over the flu to boot. Oh no she came and sat next to me. I am now sitting in an empty showroom. Rich thank you for the Daily Reports. A great quote by the DL. I'll pass on the cocktail and the recipe but the wine looks very good. Looking forward to today's port photos. Prayers for the people of Puerto Rico, DR and Turks and Caicos. Our trip is set for Baltimore, many meals with family and friends. Praying for a dry day in Baltimore October 2. Probably should start praying for a win after the Buffalo Bills spanked the Titans yesterday. Looks like my truck is done. 😄
  21. Good Monday morning. I woke early enough to see the full service for the Queen, a wonderful program with beautiful hymns. I loved the Queen's Piper final salute to her from the balcony. I understand he played that song for her every morning that she was in residence at Balmoral. A sad day for the people of the UK and the world. Thank you for the Daily Reports. Albom's quote is a good one. @dfishI hope things get done for your Midland home purchase, I am sure you are so tired of it dragging along like this. Thank you for the Salsa Roja recipes, I would be thinking Mexican today but DF John woke up this morning and announced he is back on Keto, nothing very Keto at Mexican. Pass on the banana daiquiri. The Pinot sounds nice! @StLouisCruisersthank you for the beautiful photos of Iceland to start our week! @mamaofamiHappy 63rd Anniversary!! 🍾 Today will be wrapping up repotting the last of the small potted perennials into bigger pots and then putting that area to rest for the winter. We are planning a road trip to Baltimore for the Ravens Bills game and plotting a different route to Wheeling WV where we make our first stop. The Ravens collapsed yesterday but everyone in our division lost so no harm, no foul. A learning experience I hope. Prayers for the new King and the family. RIP Queen Elizabeth.
  22. In honor of today's cheeseburger day many fast food restaurants are offering a free cheeseburger for several days. We had ours for dinner last night with some pepper jack cheese and some of last precious farm sweet corn. Thank you for the Daily Reports Rich. So happy to see that the Volendam is entering the Mediterranean. We are now at 99 days countdown for our pre-Grand SA cruise. Prayers for all on our care list, the people of Ukraine and the people of Puerto Rico. 🙏 @StLouisCruisersthank you for the photos of Liverno. As a port city it is very pretty. @HAL SailerI have found and scanned the recipe for King Ranch Chicken. I am going to leave the recipe out and make it again before we kick into the Atkins I am working on the final payment for our cruise today. Paying a chunk and then going into my credit card and pay that so that I don't go over my limit. Should be complete by tomorrow. Have a great day! King Ranch Chicken.pdf
  23. Happy Saturday! We have a quiet day here doing what we please. We had a long and fun walk through the fair. Just as I would have it by luck we parked by the livestock buildings. We walked a lot trying to find exhibits open but we went early to avoid the heat so we saw all the animals before the exhibits open. Instead of going for fair food we went to a favorite small tavern that has food we love for a late lunch. We found a farm stand with gorgeous heirloom tomatoes so we had a great dinner at home with a tomato and fresh farm sweet corn. It is unusual to find them this late in the season. Thank you for the Daily Reports! Today's quote is another one that is a motivator. I have seen Red Pandas in zoos and they are darn cute. Constitution Day is very important. I am afraid in the US our Constitution is rarely taught in public schools although our immigrants seeking citizenship have to know some points of it. Pass on the drink, Chicken Mole gets me thinking going to a Mexican restaurant again. Wine looks great and I look forward to photos of today's port. Thanks for the Care Report. Happy that it has been a few days with no additions. I will be praying for the beautiful Windward Islands and Puerto Rico who will be doused by Fiona. Have a wonderful day!!
  24. I have mine from a newspaper clipping from the Baltimore Sun. I will try to scan it if I can find it. Perhaps if your search finds one from the Sun it would be it. It is really yummy and easy.
