  1. Good morning! @richwmn and @rafinmdthank you for compiling these reports. @marshhawk prayers for your friend Jesse, so much lost time be misdiagnosis. A day of cutting back the garden running in and out of the house to watch all the races at Saratoga for today's Travers Stakes day. A beautiful day today. Boat is wrapped securely for our return in spring. All of the daily comestibles look very good. I love penne a la vodka. Would go great with today's wine. Prayers for the people of Ukraine and those on our Care list. πŸ™
  2. @StLouisCruisersthank you for all your photos of Aqaba and Petra. I look forward to going there some day. @HeartgroveI had to fight tooth and nail with my insurance adjuster to get a new roof. Finally he had a professional inspector to do a review and I got my new roof. A beautiful day ahead. We are pulling the boat and it will be wrapped on a sunny, calm day. I want to get a lot of yard work done as iffy weather is due for the weekend. Thanks for the Daily Reports. I had always had dogs until travel for work got so often when my last dog passed away she was my last. That was 1991. I will pass on the meal but the wine and cocktail sound interesting. Prayers for all on our Care list. πŸ™ Have a great day!
  3. Good morning. Another dreary start to the day. Yesterday the sun broke out and I got a half days worth of work when the rain started. Back inside for the afternoon and probably most of today. I bet we got 1" of rain, more through noon. We have a great day tomorrow perfect for pulling the boat out of the lake and have a tune up and shrink wrapping for the winter. It sits in our yard for the winter. Our road is so bad that hauling it in and out yearly would be hard on it. It closes the curtain on one of the worst summers for fishing in 16 years. I took a lot of photos and worked in my garden so that was fun too. The work begins in earnest now, cutting back all plants and hauling them in the woods. I leave the Russian Sage for the bees and the Echinacea for the finches and cut the back in the spring. Thank you for the Daily Reports. Prayers for all needing them. Have a wonderful day!
  4. Happy hump day! We have a foggy, damp day. I got a lot of work done outside yesterday so I think I will start organizing for departure less than 3 weeks from now. All canned and bottled foodstuffs have to be brought back home. It gets below freezing inside the cabin during the winter. John( DF) got a casino offer and it included a New Year's cruise on the Volendam so we will be doing a 7 day B2B with a 74 day. We have tried to rent a home in Florida for the winter but the cost was prohibitive. We will be spending almost all of our winter on a BHB. Thank you for the Daily Reports. Always new things to look forward to each day. Today's wine, cocktail and meal all look like winners. Thanks for the health and celebration updates. US is asking citizens to leave Ukraine. Prayers for the people of Ukraine. πŸ™πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ Have a great day! A tattered Fritillary butterfly in my garden yesterday.
  5. @Vict0riann have a very happy birthday! πŸΎπŸŽ‚ Thank you for the Daily Reports! Prayers for all on the care list and for the people in Ukraine. It is great to start my day with fun cocktails (not drinking in the am) the great food suggestions and learning about new wines and ports of call. John will go fishing, I may if he texts he is catching fish. My weeding has become an abject failure. Two loads of line dried wash, minor roof repair assistance with John. I ended up fertilizing some daylilies and deadheading hanging baskets. Today is the day. Tomatoes have begun to ripen. First mozzarella salad of the season. Have a great day!
  6. Another instance from OP example is the level 3 package. It has Crios Malbec which is $10 where we live. Better deal is the level 2 package with the Meomi Pinot Noir which is $18 at the store. I can't figure out who works out these packages. We are those that shlep on wine. It is always celebration wine that the wine stewards are thrilled to taste. We will be buying a package our next cruise, hard to haul on enough for a 74 day cruise. We will be buying wine in Port and paying corkage. Cheers! 🍷
  7. No luck on the photos. Laptop was dead. I will post them the next time the port comes up.
  8. Thank you for the Daily Reports! All look great and I have my laptop in the truck with me so if it has enough juice left I will share photos of Cartagena. I was there September 2018 on the Konigsdam. Prayers for all and the care list. Strength for the people of Ukraine. πŸ™πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦
  9. @grapau27Happy Anniversary! Thanks for sharing the photos! 🍾 @superomahappy birthday to your DH!
  10. Good morning! It is a beautiful day here with fog rolling off the lake because it is warmer than our current air temp. John will probably fish. He got a great shot although a bit blurry of an eagle catching a fish. It is quite used to us right now. A day of weeding for me. Thank you for the Daily Reports @richwmn! The meal sounds great as does the wine. I love Riesling but it can be too sweet. Trocken means dry so the winemakers are making a wine for current palates it is just hard to find. I have been to Boston many times, my sisters lived in NH and Maine so that was the closest airport with good connections. We loved to hit the old Filene's Basement for designer bargains. Prayers for all on our groups list and for those needing them. Thanks @rafinmdfor compiling this for us. Have a great day!
  11. We had another day of promised rain that didn't happen yesterday. We had a great day to go to town. We saw Top Gun in the theater, finally got some farm stand corn, shopped and probably had our last fish fry in our little town where we have our PO box. The drive home was pretty and it was great to have a day of almost unlimited wifi in our moving truck and a good signal in town. Thank you for the care and celebration lists and for the daily! This was one of the worst summers for mosquitoes in years. So glad they are gone for the season for the most part. We had honeybees up here one summer and it was the first time I got stung by a bee here in all my summers up here. Honeybees don't survive here in the -35 temps. The escaped swarm was a one time thing. They overwhelmed my hummingbird feeders. My garden is full of all sorts of Bumblebees I am amazed at the variety. When I return to civilization I will try to share some photos of my flowers and their pollinators. I will pass on cold noodles, the drink would be good minus the mint, will pass on the Gruner v wine. I have been to Nassau several times. I bought a watch I wear every day there for my 40th birthday. It has been a very durable watch. Prayers for everyone who is battling illness and hardship. πŸ™ Photos from our drive home last night heading into the wilderness. Our road has been much improved by the timber company that owns the woods we drive through. Have a great Saturday!
  12. Happy Friday. We are making a trip to Iron Mountain to the nearest Walmart. We are going to stock up on some house hold stuff so we don't have to use precious space in the truck next spring when we return. All our promised rain never materialized. Perhaps tomorrow. My finger is healing well and I am keeping a bandaid on it for a while. Thanks for the reports. I'll pass on the catfish, wait on the cocktail and we love NZ Sauvignon Blanc. Potatoes are a favorite here too though we have been having sweet corn more lately since it is in season. Prayers for all on our Care list. Prayers for those in Ukraine where Putin is causing mischief with nuclear power. πŸ™πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ Have a great day!
  13. Thank you for all the photos of Punta Arenas yesterday. It looks like a port where a walking tour for the dock is in order. A lot of charm in that town. A day of gardening again rain due in the afternoon, we got none yesterday so I got a lot done. Yesterday I stored all the pots by my potting bench. I am done potting plants to bring downstate for my garden club's plant sale in May 2023. My garden seems to allow every plant that reseeds comes up in the wrong place. The foxgloves aren't so bad as they are done after 2 seasons. The white garden phlox are taking over and are burying my hostas. I dug out 2 in the last few days. One fit in a large shrub pot, the one I dug yesterday I had to get out a planter because it wouldn't fit. I am grateful my sister said she will help me get them home when she comes back up next month. We have a date set at the end of the month to get the pontoon pulled out of the lake and shrink wrapped on site. Then we will pull on our dock ourselves. Thank you for the Daily Reports! All winners on the comestibles. The wine review brought back happy memories of driving around Alsace and seeing all those famous vineyards. I think Sommerberg is near Riquevir where we stayed. Prayers for all on our Care list and those needing them. Jacqui I hope Shadow has been found. Have a great day!
  14. We are in a Vista Suite, any idea if there is one in those cabins? Should be for the cost for a balcony cabin. Thanks.
  15. Happy Wednesday! My finger is doing great and healing well. A beautiful day ahead ending with rain in the evening. Looking forward to today's port photos, we are due to go there in late January 2023. Today's stuffed shells recipes all look wonderful especially #3. I just heard due to drought in CA there is a tomato shortage, stock up on your sauce soon before the prices go up. It would go great with the Barolo. Looking forward to the cocktail too. Thank you for the daily reports. Prayers for those on our Care list. @kazuI am so sorry about Shadow. I hope you can help find her and that the rescue comes to its' senses and listens to the vets. We had a beautiful sunrise this morning.
  16. A beautiful day ahead here in northern Michigan. We are going to have beautiful sun and 70s. I went fishing yesterday because John was catching fish. It was a brief trip for me because a feisty Bluegill ran a barbed hook into my left index finger. I saw immediately it wasn't going to come out in the boat we returned to the dock. With bush medicine techniques I used a new box cutter, lots of peroxide to thin my thick driving hand skin. After a bit of sawing I cleared the path to pull it out. Then prescription antibiotic ointment and a bandage. John had cut his finger washing wine glasses last week and his cut was deeper than mine. Thankfully I had a tetanus shot two summers ago. I will be watching it carefully for symptoms of infection. I will stay on land today. Thank you for the reports and care and celebration lists. Today's meal looks wonderful and would go great with today's vino. Looking forward to seeing today's port photos when I sign on bright and early tomorrow.
  17. A new week and a gorgeous sunrise. We are becoming short timers here so the work load picks up. I am only going to go fishing after John tells me he has caught fish. Too much to do in about 3 weeks. 55 degrees now and heading into the 70s. 80s by the weekend. Today's dish looked wonderful in all versions, the drink a bit sweet but the Chablis looks good. Really have no desire to go to East Timor. Thanks for the reports Roy and Rich. Prayers for those needing them and for the people of Ukraine. πŸ™πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ Today's sunrise and last night's store bought walleye dinner. Have a great Monday.
  18. After a long day of rain yesterday it appears to be clearing. A day off from watering the potted plants. I just picked several Fodor's travel guides from eBay at the post office so I enjoyed reading them while watching horse racing. @richwmnthanks for the Daily Reports. A compilation of enjoyment for all of us. @rafinmdthanks for tracking all the celebrations and illnesses for all to know about. I am restricted on wifi time for now it is a great way to keep up with what is happening. Today's drink, wine and meal are all a pass for me but I look forward to them every day. Look forward to seeing some photos of Venice. Have a great day!
  19. A misty cool Saturday here in the UP. It is probably the second day we woke to a full day of clouds and rain all summer. It is 56. Much different than our view when fishing yesterday. The clouds made up for our worst day (catching no fish) all summer. Thank you for the Daily Reports! Today's cocktail is a no but the meal and the wine look like a great pairing. @kazu prayers for Shadow and you. Prayers for all on the care list. πŸ™ Thanks for the Copenhagen photos, it makes me want to visit. Have a wonderful day!
  20. Happy birthday @richwmn! Enjoy your day! πŸΎπŸŽ‚ Thanks for the Daily Reports and the care and celebration lists. Prayers for those needing them and for success of the Ukrainian troops. 45 degrees when I was up at 5am, it is up to 50 now sitting in my wifi booth with heated seats and the heater running. I get cooled off when I give the engine a rest. Fishing later in the day we are hoping for a walleye dinner. Have a great day and a wonderful weekend! I forgot to thank everyone for the beautiful photos of Buenos Aires on Wednesday.
  21. A beautiful morning here in Michigan's UP. 54 degrees and going to the 70s. A day of gardening since it is supposed to blow out of the north so keeping the pontoon in one place is difficult even with anchor. Thanks @richwmnfor the Daily Reports. @rafinmdthank you for keeping the daily care and celebrations. Brief post today, returning to yesterday's to look for BA port photos. Have a great day! Bonus Daylily from Oakes I love it because it blooms later in the season. My tomatoes are going gangbusters.
  22. Happy Hump Day! Thank you for the Daily Reports! DF John is out fishing, I am sure bass will be caught but we only eat walleye. @dfishthe recipes look great and simple. The cocktail looks like a good one for Happy Hour on a BHB. The wine probably a headache. Port of Buenos Aires is on our itinerary for 2023. Around Valentine's Day for a few days in Port to allow people to visit Iguazu Falls. I have already booked my HA shore excursion for one day, horseback riding on the Pampas. John and I will probably do the wine tasting event then spend the rest of the time on our own. Mendoza is too far for a visit. I have only an hour of wifi a day to not put too much stress on the truck idling and stopping and starting to look at our Roll Call. I will have a lot of catching up to do when we get back to civilization. Look forward to seeing some port photos. Thank you for the care list. I was unaware of the crew member going overboard. Very sad. I heard on the radio news that Ukraine had a successful hit on Crimea. It is sad that Skagway is now closed for the season, a big loss of income for the vendors and shore excursion providers. Prayers for those needing them. πŸ™ Wishing everyone a wonderful day!
  23. We love Carlisle. I have been on their mailing list for 16 years. 🍷
  24. Hello everyone and wishing you a great day. We are heading to town to pick up prescriptions and drop off a package to UPS. It was 46 when I got up, my poor tomatoes. @richwmnand @rafinmdthank you for the daily reports. @dfishthanks for the recipes the first one looked best to me. The wine looked great and everyone thanks for the funnies. Last night's dinner for my DS and DN. My plate looks a little empty I took the picture before I put salad on it.
