I would like to use Valuetrips.com to secure a room the end of February at the Hyatt Place Cruiseport. 2023 dates are not available yet. But I have another question. It says on Valuetrips that a breakfast buffet can be purchased for $11.00 pp. I am a Hyatt rewards member. Wouldn't that be free for me? Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks. I am 70 days out right now. So 25 days from the 45 day window to make changes. I am quite happy with my flights and I have not seen a better price. I very much doubt I would be making any changes. Should I do it? I would feel better knowing my flights were "locked in".

I also was able to book our MDR reservations months ago for a Feb cruise. We have no status and final payment was a long way off when I did this.

What if you don't want to go to a hotel? What if you refuse? (Just being Devil's advocate here).

If you get COVID on a cruise and get put in isolation what happens on disembarkation day? I am reading here that they make you in the last group off...but what if you have an early flight? After you get off the ship is it your decision whether to fly home or stay in a hotel?

Thanks for all of your suggestions! I am definitely going to bring a standard watch along at least to use on port days. And I don't even have to buy one. I have a whole collection of them from before I got my smart watch. I am also going to look into how to manually set the time on my phone.

I have a smart watch which of course is tied to my phone to gets its information. While onboard the ship if I have the phone in airplane mode with WiFi and Bluetooth turned back on will my watch still know the correct time? And if we have a time change in a port will the watch switch? Would I be better off with a standard watch for the cruise? A watch that I can set myself?

Or, you just pick them up at the port. Takes no time at all.

Philv, We are on the same sailing! I just want to point out that there will be 6 ships disembarking on March 4. From what I understand a 10:25 flight is possible if everything goes as planned. But do you really want that stress?

It is my understanding from other posters that EZCheck is available in Ft. Lauderdale once again. Of course you have to meet the criteria such as a participating airline and departure AFTER 11:30 am which I understand they are firm on. I used EZCheck the last time we cruised and although there is a fee, it sure makes things EZ!

Sorry, I don't buy it. We rely too much on tech in my opinion. All I'm saying is to have backup.

But...what if your phone "dies"? Becomes unusable? It could happen. And I'm not talking about just needing a recharge. What if your phone somehow becomes bricked? I too always have paper backup.

I don't believe the Caribbean Princess has the USB in the lamps or anywhere else as it is a older ship.

Cost of flights has gone up a lot since you booked. I know my EZAir flights have. If I were to change them I would have to pay the current price. Is it worth the extra money to arrive 3 hours earlier?

No way would I lay my bag down with my phone in it unattended! Just not happening. I too prefer a regular camera as opposed to my cell phone. Now I do take pictures on my phone, but only when I don't have my camera with me. On vacations I always have my camera for pictures.

Thanks for all of the ideas! Question...if you leave your bag at your lounge chair or buffet table to hold your place, aren't you afraid to leave it with your cell phone in it unattended? I would be. Maybe I will discover that I don't need my phone either. I think the greatest appeal is being able to order food and drink to wherever you are.

In the past I have never carried my cell phone around on the ship, I left it in the safe. But now it appears that carrying your cell phone around the ship with you has certain "advantages". I realize that I can still leave the phone in my cabin if I want. My question is what do you use to put your cell phone in when moving about the ship? Do you put it in your pocket? Wear it around your neck? Carry a small bag or tote? Carry a purse? I have never carried a purse around the ship before. I do have a small cross body cell phone pouch that I could use but just wondered what you all do.

I am currently booked with EZAir on Princess. The price (domestic) was slightly better than what I could book myself. I don't have to pay for it until final payment 90 day before the cruise, not at the time of booking.. If you get the flexible fare you can make changes up until 45 days before the flight. I was able to choose my airline, my flights, and my seats. My Skymiles number was applied. And if you miss your cruise they will even fly you to the next port of call to get on the ship. And in addition, if you have the Princess Platnium insurance your flights are covered too. It was a win win for me.

How do you find the cruises with the $1 deposit? Are they just mixed in with everything else?

The first thing I did was reboot my phone. No go. I re-installed the app. No go. I then tried logging in again and lo and behold it tells me my email address is not valid! Of course its valid! I use it to log on the Princess website! I sure hope they fix it quick. I wanted to change my dining reservations and you can't do that without the app.

Well I had an update on the Princess app today and now it won't open! I get a blue screen with the Princess logo and it just sits there locked up. Anyone else?
