  1. My husband and I have been to Princess Cays before. We are thinking we might like to just stay onboard this time. Do very many people stay onboard? For those that have done this about what percentage of the passengers (in your opinion) remain onboard? And if you have remained onboard what was your experience? Are there onboard activities going on? Things to do? How was it around the pools?
  2. Its a personal preference to be sure. Our last cruise we decided to opt for the twin configuration. I too like my space. Prior to that we did the Queen. I never noticed a dip or "crack" in the middle. Either one works fine for us.
  3. I don't think it works that way. You will either have to cancel and re-book or refare. In either case you would pay the current price for that cabin. Keep watching the prices though. If the fares drop you just might be able to snatch that new cabin. It happened to me. I saw the prince drop for my cruise. I had a deluxe balcony and I was able to refare and get a mini suite for only $151 more.
  4. You have to have WiFi Calling enabled on your phone. When on the ship put your phone in Airplane mode and then turn Wifi back on. You will not get any carrier charges.
  5. If you have WiFi calling on your phone you don't need anything else. I have an Android phone and my carrier is T-Mobile. I enabled WiFi calling and I was able to make and receive phone calls as normal. Did not need Google Voice or anything else.
  6. There is no dining that you describe. You either have to make a reservation each night or just walk up. It "might" be possible for you to request the same waiter and table each night but you will have to ask when onboard. Unless you link your sailing number with someone else you know you will have different tablemates each night.
  7. I stand corrected. Sorry for my confusion.
  8. I believe the OP was asking about the Retreat Pool and not the main pool. I would like to know more about the Retreat pool as well.
  9. Tonight I was able to upgrade our cabin from a Deluxe Balcony to a Mini Suite! First of all they were able to re-fare which surprised me since all I have been hearing about is that you have to cancel and re-book possibly losing perks. I was fully prepared to cancel and rebook. The difference in fares for the two of us when all was said and done was only $151 more!!! AND they also gave us a $100 OBC to boot! So for really only $51 we got a mini suite! I have been checking off and on ever since I originally booked last April and the cruise isn't until March 2025 so still a long time out. But up until tonight it would have cost $800-$900 more for the two of us. This was literally a no brainer. And it was nice being re-fared and keeping the same deposit and booking number! So just keep checking and keep calling, it might pay off.
  10. I am looking at the Bridge Cam for the Sky Princess. She is in San Juan today (Jan 16). Can anyone tell me which pier she is docked at? Old Town or elsewhere?
  11. I am booked for a March 2025 cruise. But you were looking for May right?
  12. I also keep getting session timed out. It doesn't matter whether I sign in by email or by booking number. Same thing happens. I can't do anything on the new app because of this.
  13. We did this same cruise on the Coral Princess in 2010 and LOVED IT! We went thru the old locks back then. The were just starting to build the new one. I much prefer the smaller ship! I would go on the Coral Princess again in a heartbeat. I have also sailed on the Caribbean Princess and although nice I prefer the Coral.
  14. I too like the Coral Princess! For all of the above reasons and also because it is a smaller ship!
  15. Muster is handled by viewing a short video once onboard. You can watch it on your cabin TV, SmartPhone, or Tablet. You also have to physically report to your muster station and check in by swiping your medallion. Thats it. Very easy. You can do this on your own timetable before sailing. You are correct on the alcohol policy.
  16. You might be better off doing your own laundry than to send it out. $3 a load to wash and $3 a load to dry.
  17. The only negative to buying it onboard is that the price may have went up since you booked. This is especially true if you booked way out like I did/ I booked nearly two years out and I'm sure the price for Plus will go up within that time. But if you book onboard you can use OBC and avoid paying insurance on it as others have stated.
  18. When checking fares be careful that you are comparing apples to apples. I thought my cruise fare had dropped significantly but when I called Princess to re-fare I found out that when I made my original booking Princess Plus was added in before I saw the price. Because back then you selected Princess Plus earlier in the process. Now you see the fare without Princess plus and when you go through the process it gets added later. So in the end there was no reduction in the price, just is how they figured it.
  19. I have a Android phone and WiFi calling worked great on Princess!
  20. Don't those front facing balconies have a solid rail? Not see-thru glass. That means that while seated you won't be able to see over the rail unless you are very tall. I would look for a balcony with a glass rail myself.
  21. From the responses I gather that its all in WHERE you live. East coast residents prefer to fly west and leave from there. West Coast residents prefer the opposite leaving from FLL first. Those in the middle of the country can go either way.
  22. When I ran into this problem I called Princess. The agent was able to get me the cabin I wanted. My advise is to keep trying even if the first person you talk to says no.
  23. When we did this cruise we boarded in LA and ended in FLL. We live in Ohio and by arriving in FLL it was the same time zone as at home so no jet lag or time change to contend with.
  24. I want to book EZ Air flights using Delta. I want to book first class or rather end up with first class. Is there anyway to use my Skymiles to upgrade to 1st class? Say I booked economy with EZ Air and wanted to use my miles to upgrade to 1st class? Can you do this? Or do I need to forget EZ Air and book directly with Delta to do this?
