  1. Celebrity Solstice was a great experience for us. I believe Norwegian Bliss is the newest ship offering Alaska sailings.
  2. Does anyone know why the Wonder doesn't have the 4 bedroom Villa Suite? I don't know why they caged up the aqua theater. That was one of the most beautiful spots on the ship. Now it's ugly and unfinished looking. Looks like scaffolding during construction. Here's the beautiful unobstructed Symphony of The Seas

  4. And what about disembarkation? We're used to casually walking off the ship after breakfast around 9-9:30am. What times are people getting off ship on the last morning?
  5. Thank you for confirming Royal Genie Sunil is onboard. I sure hope he is still onboard in January when we sail. He's our absolute favorite Royal Genie. He goes way over and above to ensure your cruise is nothing short of amazing. We can't wait to see him!
  6. UK wearing masks and higher percentage are vaccinated.
  7. I wonder how long it will be until they come out and say prior Covid infected are being reinfected by Delta? Not really hearing about these "breakthroughs"?
  8. Delta definitely feels like an entirely different virus. When will this madness end.
  9. Does anyone know about Quantum 2022 sailings and Star Class. I'm not seeing Star Class on any Royal Suite rooms rather "Exclusive For Suites". I do see Sea & Sky class on the applicable rooms.
  10. Jan 2021 Symphony cruise the floating Cabana just dropped from $1,699 to $1,499. Called in and got a refund/repurchase. Hopefully it will drop again.
  11. Yes we reserved the floating cabana w/full day pass in Jan 2022 for $1699. Full day pass is $107 so for 8 ppl that's $856 of the cabana price alone. Its very high, I guess they are trying to recoup their losses. Perhaps the prices will drop closer to our trip if no one is booking them. I've also noticed that the price of the Villa Suites on Oasis class ships has doubled. We used to find this suite for $14-$16K for (4) ppl. Now it's $28K+ I sure hope prices come down because I haven't booked any new cruises at these prices.
  12. It all depends on how quickly the variants take hold. If the variants become the primary strain in the US then perhaps it will delay our return to a "new normal". Pfizer CEO says Covid is here to stay and will turn into a common cold-like illness. I don't see us reaching vaccine herd immunity until Q4. I can foresee mask mandates well into 2022 on land and until 2024 on ships. People come from around the globe to board these ships, until Covid is controlled around the globe, preventative measures will be required. I think it would be best to limit passengers to the country of embarkation only and/or require vaccines. But they will need to come up with a verifiable method of vaccination proof via QR code or online app. These stupid paper cards they are giving out can be easily faked. I think we have learned a lot about how lazy we were with prevention & sanitation before. There is no reason we should lose 30-90K people every year to the flu. There is no excuse for norovirus outbreaks on ships anymore. I think our new normal will be more sanitized than before and I hope we can prevent unnecessary deaths & infections.
  13. Merck's out as their vaccine wasn't better than natural immunity https://www.businessinsider.com/merck-covid-vaccines-drop-out-disappointing-trial-results-2021-1
  14. Operation Dope Speed. What a joke. This is just like no PPE back in March or failed Testing still today. Looks like vaccinating this country will take well into 2022.
  15. Don't you guys have walk in clinics running 24/7 in empty retail spaces?
  16. Doesn't make sense that they wouldn't pre-schedule your 2nd dose. That sucks and I'm sorry for those who are having to stress through the process. I sure hope you are all able to get that 2nd dose @ 21 or 28 days as directed by the mfg.
  17. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/facts.html Can a COVID-19 vaccine make me sick with COVID-19? No. None of the authorized and recommended COVID-19 vaccines or COVID-19 vaccines currently in development in the United States contain the live virus that causes COVID-19. This means that a COVID-19 vaccine cannot make you sick with COVID-19. There are several different types of vaccines in development. All of them teach our immune systems how to recognize and fight the virus that causes COVID-19. Sometimes this process can cause symptoms, such as fever. These symptoms are normal and are a sign that the body is building protection against the virus that causes COVID-19. Learn more about how COVID-19 vaccines work. It typically takes a few weeks for the body to build immunity (protection against the virus that causes COVID-19) after vaccination. That means it’s possible a person could be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 just before or just after vaccination and still get sick. This is because the vaccine has not had enough time to provide protection.
  18. There have been a few stories getting attention lately of people getting sick with covid after vaccination. It's unfortunate that people attribute this to the vaccine when it's been debunked by every vaccine expert. The ingredients are listed on both Pfizer and Moderna websites. https://www.pfizer.com/news/hot-topics/the_facts_about_pfizer_and_biontech_s_covid_19_vaccine https://www.modernatx.com/covid19vaccine-eua/providers/about-vaccine?gclid=CjwKCAiAr6-ABhAfEiwADO4sfT8-3WBqiVedTaLXbeFbd6DbWQhNmu4IPwLI2llLO5pMg758pP5luRoCDs8QAvD_BwE
  19. There is no live virus in the vaccine. It is impossible to "catch" covid from the vaccine. You only have 50% immunity 2 weeks after the first dose and 95% immunity 3 weeks after your 2nd dose. During that entire time you can catch covid. Also it can take up to 14 days for a person to develop symptoms from covid. So unfortunately your friend caught covid before being vaccinated.
  20. 25 of us got our first dose of Pfizer Tuesday administered by CVS. No side effects in anyone other than a sore upper arm (injection site) for a day or two. Age ranges from 25-96. The needle is so thin you can barely feel the shot. I have also heard of a covid infected person getting sick after their first vaccine dose. This person didn't know that they previously had covid. I personally know 2 people getting the vaccine next week that are just past their 90 day recovery period. The 26 yr old with no underlying conditions spent 9 days in hospital. The 51 yr old lost taste & smell for about a 1 1/2 months and did have some labored breathing but o2 level never got critical so recovered at home.
  21. My enthusiasm for cruising is higher but my concern for covid protocols is up there too. Our next cruise is May and we expect to be vaccinated in Jan so hopefully that cruise will sail. If we do go and do not enjoy ourselves due to restrictions or a total lack of "normalcy" then it may be some time before we cruise again.
  22. From my understanding you are 94.5% protected from contracting the virus. You have a 5.5% chance of contracting the virus but being asymptomatic. You'll have 100% protection from becoming severely ill. Unfortunately they still cannot tell us how long the vaccine immunity will last and if we can still become carriers and unwittingly spread the virus.
  23. Lorraine in Boston asks, “If I get the vaccine and get COVID but am not sick, can I still spread the virus?” If you get vaccinated, it’s not clear if you can still get infected, not develop symptoms, and possibly pass the virus on to others. That’s why even if you get vaccinated, you still need to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
