Dine My Way & all new Dining questions since cruising restart!!
HotRoot replied to Host CJSKIDS's topic in Princess Cruises
Your kids and grandkids will not be allowed to eat in the Reserve dining room. You can join them in the Main Dining Room, Specialty Dining Rooms, and Casual Dining. You can make reservations in advance for Main and Specialty. -
We always eat in the MDR the first night. It is one of our favorite menus. We always have a reservation in advance and we have never had to wait for our table. We actually had that menu last night. If you look on the Live Majestic Princess thread, the menu is posted. Unless you are om a 21+ day cruise, the menu will not be repeated. We have never felt the MDR was chaotic.

If you look under the Dine My Wine topic at the top of the page, I listed the items available on the hanging tag for breakfast in one post and food items available from Ocean Now in another.

We paid full price for the Greenland cruise months ago. Now they are giving it away. Doesn't make me happy.

Celebrity Cruiser Looking to try Princess! Help!
HotRoot replied to cheeseheads4ever's topic in Princess Cruises
Currently on the Majestic Princess. She has been in Australia/NZ for months (maybe 6) with no smoking in the casino. Current cruise has no smoking in the casino. The casino stinks like smoke. I assume the smell is in the carpet, drapes, and chairs. Probably also craps and black jack tables. -
Why do they not allow tawny port? We brought a bottle of tawny port onboard in New Zealand and nobody said a thing.
-
Not on the Majestic Princess. They have a noodle bar in the pizza spot.

Would if I could but I am computer/phone/app challenged. I have absolutely no idea how to even take a screen shot much less post it. If no one else does in the next 24 hours, I will type it here. -

These menus do not match what is currently on board. First, pizzas now cost $8.50. There is no guacamole and chips. I did not look any further than that. -

Curious what breakfast options you have seen? The only breakfast food options I have found on the app is the Egg McMuffin. -

Shorts are NOT in the included dress code. That said, some ships (probably all) do allow you to wear shorts. But you might end up on a ship that follows the dress code and then you could be denied entry if you are wearing shorts. You can always just walk up. You might have to wait for your requested table size. I have seen people turned away because the table size they want will not be available that night in that dining room. -
I believe if you have a package, the corkage fee is waived. We have brought a bottle of wine on board at different ports. We have never been questioned.

How are "PLUS" package purchases accounted for?
HotRoot replied to CenTexan's topic in Princess Cruises
Caribbean was at the pool bar. Discovery was in the middle of the buffet. Majestic is at the Wake Bar. -

Sorry, don't know the classes, but we had the juice bar on the Caribbean, Discovery, and Majestic. Are they all Royal class? -
Currently on Majestic. We have had two formal nights - no lobster yet.

Farewell Princess - No Trust in Accommodating Dietary Needs

And my comments on low salt - We are on a 33 night cruise. On a shorter cruise, we just eat the salt and take water pills. This would not work for 33 nights. We did request "no added salt". We order the night before. But, their idea of no added salt is no cheese, sauce, mashed potatoes, spices of any kind. Each meal we get a protein, broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. Each meal looks and tastes the same. We have crossed the Princess World Cruise off our list. We could not eat like this for over 100 days. Also, every fish dish has been over cooked. We have done a 140 night cruise on another line. We ate the same food as everybody else. They just took the time to make the sauce, soups, mashed potatoes especially for us and the rest of the low salt group with NO ADDED SALT. Good news is - we are losing weight! -

Currently on the Majestic. Many people have secured the same table for the entire cruise. Most of our section is "reserved". This also previously worked on the Caribbean and Discovery. Which ships did it not work on? -

Currently on Mirage. MDR all close at 9:30 pm. Buffet closes at 10 pm. Alfredo's closes at 11 pm. International cafe is open all night. I believe room service also goes all night. -

Another vote for renting a car. Enterprise is across the street from the dock. -

Make reservations in the same MDR at the same time each evening before you sail. During your first meal in the MDR, whether lunch or dinner, ask the Head Waiter if you can have that table for your entire cruise.
