  1. Did she have a good holiday?
  2. I'm have seen that you can take 1 litre alcohol pp on-board and as many? soft drinks you can carry. Can anyone tell me how many tins of mixed alcoholic drinks you can take on. Things like gin and tonic etc.
  3. I agree, but I will still watch the next one.
  4. Yes, i was surprised at the age of some of the "sailors"
  5. The impression I got from what I saw of the Virgin cruise program on Sunday night, the "sailors" (passengers) aren't very nice and are very demanding.
  6. Where does it go to and how long do they keep it for? So would anyone who has lost something contact P&O at Southampton? I haven't but it sounds like other people have.
  7. So the lesson is, if you find something in the safe don't hand it in, try and find the owners yourself or hand it in when onshore. Or are they no better?
  8. While boards such as these can be helpful, sometimes you have to take what is being said with a pinch of salt. Everyone has different likes and dislikes. One of the big topics on changes is the no night time turn down. I don't think you would you get this if you stayed in a hotel at Spain, so straight away something not to worry about. Food is another topic which is personal to people and there is plenty of different places onboard to eat to please most people. Reports of food not being very nice can just be down to a persons own taste. Are the likes of there being no sweets in the cabin or the fact that they no longer provide small bottles of shower gel going to affect your holiday. Most places are now providing shampoo etc fixed in large bottles to the wall. While people will argue it's a cutback, it's a move towards sustainability and won't effect the enjoyment of your holiday. While a lot of people who have been cruising for many years have seen lots of small changes, the same thing is happening on-land. Also they are still taking multiple cruises a year with P&O, so they must be doing something to make them return. We have really enjoyed the P&O tours we have taken but some people wouldn't entertain them. Again it's personal choice. Some people prefer suites, some balconies and some inside cabins. They might say they would never go in another type of cabin. That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them, it's just down again to personal taste or affordability. Go and enjoy your holiday with an open mind not worrying about what other people think. Don't be put off by negative posts as people tend to post more about something they haven't enjoyed than something they have. The crew are all lovely and Iona is a new ship. From the photos and videos I have seen she is lovely. If you don't like one part of her just go to another place. You will have a fab time and be wanting to return again. Just don't go thinking that you won't enjoy it, you will.
  9. In March, on another site someone said that on our cruise our times are 9-6 for that day in October. I don't know where they got them from.
  10. I have been trying to see the arrivals at Marseille and have found this. Britannia is listed for every month up to and including October, but the times are missing, along with some Viking ships. I don't know what that means, maybe some of you do. https://www.cruisemapper.com/ports/marseille-port-68?tab=schedule&month=2022-06#schedule
  11. It doesn't look like there's any P&O ships booked into the port before the 3rd July which is as far as I can see. Maybe a regular user of vessel finder can check for more information. There's a big gap between 18 June and 3rd July which has no listings.
  12. Washington services on A1 in the coach park at the back. Coach usually leaves at 6:00 a.m. We usually get there before 5:30, gives you time to use the conveniences or get a drink if you want one. The Times we have been on the bus has been more than half full from Washington. There's usually one or two more pickups. One a quick stop for a couple of a few people I think at Scotch Corner. The other a bit further down where you can get off for ten minutes. Then there's a lunch stop and after that it depends both on the traffic and the port. If making good time the driver has to check with the port as whether to go there or take another quick break.
  13. I'm going to write down all the suggestions when I get a chance and then look through each port. I'm a lot happier now. I don't know what I was looking at on YT but the places I saw didn't look very nice. All your comments and photos have been great, much appreciated.
  14. Carnival have brought out a new way to order food for people with allergies fleetwide. I wonder if that includes P&O. https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/27608-carnival-deploys-menu-mate-food-ingredient-program-fleetwide.html
  15. Borrowed from elsewhere. Just been doing bit of research and have found out the port timings are: Leave Southampton - 6:00 La Coruna: 8-5 Palma: 8-6 La Spezia: 6-6 Marseille: 9-6 Barcelona: 8-6 Cadiz: 6-6
  16. We were supposed to go on Azura but Covid put paid to that.
  17. Looks interesting. Lovely photos.
  18. It certainly is. It's even nearer than Cartagena.
  19. A taxi, train, tram and bus. Definitely won't be doing that but thanks for the info.
  20. I hear Ken Loach is making a film there.
  21. I like shopping but hubby doesn't.
  22. That must have been what I kept getting while searching.
  23. Yes the same places, but we have been to the ones I didn't mention. I will try La Palma, kept getting Majorca and Canary Islands when !ooking.
