  1. Has anyone got any recommendations for a USB hub to charge cameras, phones, tablets. Are they supposed to be a special spec, I know that they should have the CE trademark on them. I think it was on Ventura that the plugs was quite low down on the desk and so wouldn't fit a large plug or adapter. I can't quite remember but I believe they were higher on Britannia.
  2. I hope you have a good time, which I'm sure you will.
  3. I think that if P&O explained this they wouldn't get so much grief from some people. However she has been sailing for a year now, that's a long time to know she can't go there but to not tell people until they are on their cruise. Thank you for the explanation, not that it effects me, but it's good to read that something that's not going right isn't P&O's fault.
  4. People keep talking about P&O being like Butlins at sea. From what I have seen of RCI (vlogs only), they are even more like Butlins than P&O are. There was a lot of complaints about having to pay tips onboard P&O (sorry for mentioning those) and so they incorporated them into the fayre. Some people like to buy the drinks package so that they don't have a big bill at the end of their cruise, so I can't see many people wanting to pay extra to use amusements. As moley said sunbathing around the pool is popular with us Brits, It's been mentioned about a lot of kids around the pool and that extra slides would be better. Is this because the kids clubs aren't yet back to what they were BC. It's also to be expected when taking a holiday when the schools are off. It would be the same anywhere. Though I'm not as well travelled as some of you I know enough that most Brits go on holiday to relax, with some people spending many hours around a pool during the day and then going for some drinks on the night. I'm sure most people know when going on a cruise with P&O that they don't have the amusements that other lines do. Those that want them will pay the higher cruise price, the onboard tips, higher drinks prices plus surcharges, extra to use the slides, riders etc with another line. Their holiday may be the only one of the year. Not all but most of P&O's cruisers take several holidays a year or longer ones. I can't see that adding slides etc would be a benefit to P&O I have been watching some vlogs from a RCI crew member. He does some tours of the ship on a port day. Most of the amusements were closed, flo rider was turned off.
  5. Nothing for Britannia 2nd October.
  6. I believe he meant that the tours for Toulon are on cp.
  7. So what happens if someone doesn't have the means to pay that amount?
  8. Well said, you have to listen to the good advice and tips on here and ignore some of the moaning. Most people are still cruising with P&O and frequently, so they can't be that bad.☺
  9. Moley said a few weeks ago that a big recruitment drive was ongoing.
  10. Aren't they closed because of a supply issue rather than staff.
  11. Did you book direct or via T/A. If the latter, it's them that our email came from. So anyone who hasn't been informed maybe it's their T/A who hasn't passed the message on.
  12. So glad your Aunt is home, it will be a relief to all your family. Best wishes for her operation. The three credit cards advice with high amounts is scary. Just when I was starting to feel better about our insurance being in order. Do you think this advice is because Princess is not classed as a British line?
  13. I have just been watching some vlogs bye a RCI crew member Chris Wong (from England). He shows some of his life working onboard the ships. He has some interesting facts and also does some tours of the ships. I have got to say that their idea of a promenade is quite different to ours. So far from what I have seen he has been on 3 of their ships. If anyone wants an idea of what it’s like cruising with RCI as compared to P&O then they are worth watching. It’s totally different from cruising with P&O. He is easy to listen to and isn’t over the top with how he presents his video’s. I'm just wondering if those ships are bigger than Iona and Arvia With all of these extra amusements onboard, do they have less passengers?
  14. Your cruise booking. https://my.pocruises.com/mycruise/login I have just had a look at the first one for our cruise and have got to say well done P&O.
  15. Have you seen the port guides on my.cp which can be downloaded and printed off?
  16. It sounded like you were talking about a whole queue of people in shorts and T. shirt and that the crew just let them all in. One person out of over 3000 is pretty good going I would say. I have said it before I have seen disgraceful conduct to waiters by a man wearing a tux. Posh clothes don't always make you a better person.
  17. My sister brought me a Diddy man cup from holiday when I was only young. I used it for many years and is (hopefully) sitting somewhere safely in our loft.
  18. Megabear I seem to have missed some posts that looks like they are no longer there. Sorry for any hassle you have received. Thank you for all your advice, it is appreciated, we certainly aren't in a position to pay out loads of money, so trying to think of everything we need to inform the insurance for. Please let us know when tour aunt is home.
  19. Megabear, good news your Aunt is finally coming home. Fingers crossed for a safe journey and hope you get her insurance sorted. From system 1 (doctors website) I have copied the appointments and meds list for both of us which I'm going to send to them. Plus will be informing them of a negative result on a routine scan. I will ask if they need the results of any no action blood tests (which we don't have). Hopefully we will then have covered all bases. What a clart on just for a holiday.
  20. So you lose your cruise and money.
  21. Ours hasn't been cancelled, it's just curiosity from things that have been mentioned before. For an example taken from Zap reply, someone takes out a yearly insurance, books a cruise and at the due time pays the balance. Then say a few weeks later but before the cruise they have to go on a waiting list (or something else crops up). The insurance then cancel your policy, so what would happen to your cruise or your money?
  22. Glad to hear you are having a good time and that the restaurants are now open. I was thinking of trying the Glass House in October, but maybe it will be open by then.
  23. I'm curious, what would happen if after full payment your insurance provider cancelled your policy? A few people have mentioned that while waiting for tests/investigations that their insurance was cancelled. So if something arose after full payment what would happen, would the insurance provider cancel your holiday and reimburse you? I doubt that P&O would give you your money back.
  24. With Megabear's Aunt's situation in mind and a lady from Consett with similar issues, I wrote to Staysure. Good evening, can you please tell me what we need to declare re our health insurance. Does every visit to a doctor or blood test taken need to be declared? The NHS offer various routine scans or tests at certain ages. If taking part in one do they need to be declared. For example but not limited to mammograms; bowel cancer test, aortic aneurism scans? If you are told a test or scan is normal no action does this need to be reported? Do you have to report if you have had and recovered from COVID? Any vaccinations that you are given? Does visits to the dentist or optician need to be reported? Is there any other situation where you would need to be informed? I would appreciate a response to each question. Their reply Thankyou for your email If you’ve ever had either of the following, you’ll always need to declare it on your travel insurance: A cardiovascular condition – including high blood pressure or cholesterol Any heart condition You’ll also need to let us know about a medical condition if you’ve had any of the following in the past two years, relating to your medical condition: Symptoms Treatment/ medication Investigation Medical appointments Follow-ups Check-ups Surgery Any routine scans/tests would not need to be declared however we would need to discuss any tests results you have recieved. Please do let us know if that is the case. Whilst we would not screen Covid19 as a medical condition onto the policy, other medical conditions which have been diagnosed subsequently to contracting COVID-19 would still need to be screened. Please note that we do not cover anything related to previous COVID-19, Long COVID or ongoing symptoms of either condition, however cover may still apply through the normal claims process as per the COVID-19 section in the policy wording for newly contracted cases of COVID-19. I then wrote back thank you for your reply. Can I clarify something please. if you have been informed of a condition and it has been accepted, are you saying that every appointment/telephone appointment and prescription for these accepted conditions has to be reported. Reply On the intial declaration, you would need to screen the medical condition where you have had any of the above in the last 2 years, The medical screening questions will then determine the current medical circumstances for each condition. If the those medical circumstances were to change, the medical declaration would need to be updated accordingly.
  25. I believe that has changed from 14 days.
