  1. Recently dining reservations aren't available until about 6 months until the cruise - sometimes it's almost 5 months before the cruise. They aren't yet available for our April 2, 2025 cruise, but I keep checking once a week - just in case.
  2. Since you asked earlier about connecting Signature Suites (these aren't), be sure to have your stewards open the divider section if you prefer your balconies to be accessible to each other. Only the outer third or so can be opened, but it's enough to walk thru.
  3. 6106 is next to our second-favorite stateroom on Nieuw Amsterdam or Eurodam. (Our favorites, in order, are 7080, 6108, 7079 and 6113.) On our cruises that location has been very quiet. It is very close to the aft elevators/stairs for easy access to MDR, Lido Market, NY Pizza, Sea View Pool and Sea View Bar.
  4. Per the ship diagram, there are 4 groups of connecting Signature Suites on Deck 6. They are: 6086/6088, 6090/6092, 6091/6093, 6095/6097. All are just aft of the mid-elevators. There are no connecting Signature Suites on other decks. All staterooms can have the outermost section of balcony dividers opened to provide access between adjacent ones.
  5. Here's what he posted on 5/8/2024 https://rogerjett-photography.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Beverage-Packages-2024.pdf
  6. Of the sandwiches, only the shrimp one is new - and I don't care for any of them! (Coronation Chicken was developed for Queen Elizabeth II's 1952 coronation.) I do like Afternoon Tea and go nearly every Sea Day.
  7. As others have stated, your Pinnacle Grill dinner will be in Pinnacle Grill Restaurant - NOT the Main Dining Room or your stateroom. Likewise, your Canaletto dinner will be in the Canaletto Restaurant. etc. Your Itinerary says "Delivered to Dining room". It does NOT say "Delivered to Main Dining Room". It is poor choice of words - not a bait and switch.
  8. Most of us consider that an "upsell" - but depending on the $$, ship, cruise and stateroom could still be a very good deal
  9. Before the Internet, I had a morning paper delivered partly to be sure what day it was. Elevator carpets with day of week on them. Just another reason to take a HAL cruise!
  10. Back to zoom of "boardwalk" - Ovation coming into view, but cooking beckons
  11. And here comes Westy! Just to left of storage tanks
  12. haven't seen better zooms of "boardwalk" area
  13. great pictures of tenders passing one another
  14. I have seen walkers, rollators, scooters and wheelchairs on tenders. It is up to the Captain/crew whether or not it is safe for mobility devices to board tenders on a given day. Here is the FAQ section from HAL: For individuals with limited mobility, the use of a wheelchair will be the primary mobility assistance aid for getting on and off the ship. Certain ship transfer operations (i.e. during tendering and at the gangways) may not be fully accessible to wheelchairs or scooters. When a ship is unable to dock, guests are taken ashore on smaller boats called tenders. Some guests with limited mobility may find it difficult to embark or disembark the ship at certain times while tendering or while docked due to steep gangways and steps, particularly during low or high tide. Also, please note that scooters and wheelchairs which are more than 100 lbs. without the battery are not allowed to be transferred from the ship to tender and/or from tender to shore. Follow this link to view the Tender list by port. As to tenders, with the exception of the Volendam, Holland America Line vessels have been retrofitted with a tender-lift system that enables guests to roll directly on and off tenders while remaining in their wheelchairs. However, please be advised that adverse weather conditions such as wind, swells, or extreme tide levels may prohibit the use of the ship's tender lift equipment. Additionally, some port facilities may not be able to accommodate the lift equipment. If you require the use of this equipment, please speak with the Guest Relations Manager upon embarkation for further details or to coordinate specific arrangements. Situations may occur in which guests with limited mobility may not be able to go ashore at the time they desire or are unable to go ashore at all in certain ports. For the safety of all concerned, the Captain shall make the final determination regarding whether or not it is advisable to provide assistance to guests with mobility limitations, or to carry their mobility assistance device (wheelchair, scooter, walker, etc.), taking into account all appropriate matters including, but not limited to, weather conditions, ship's location, weight of the guest or their mobility device, etc.
  15. @ghstudio No need to order dessert with other courses. All you have to do is tell your waiter you'll order it later. There's never been a problem when we do that. If you have fixed dining, the waiter will know by the second (or third) day how you do it.
  16. As much as I enjoy seeing BHBs arrive/depart, I'd much rather have the opposite view!
