  7. The rain bands look to be mostly clear of Canaveral now, but they still have winds. I hope they didn’t have too much damage. When daylight hits, we’ll see how catastrophic the damage was in Punta Gorda and Ft. Myers. I know the causeway to Sanibel is damaged badly. 😔
  8. Marc Walker, cruise director on Mariner out of Canaveral, just posted: Update. Port Canaveral is closing the port until Friday afternoon earliest. We will stay at sea until then. Bring on the chicken ding! All those sailing next cruise pls refer to Royal Caribbean as I can’t give any answers regarding that. Thank you, and for those in Ian’s path, stay safe. I’ll be in constant touch with Lily and Lilah throughout. For those here onboard now- I’ve been planning this for a few days ( just in case), so we will give you a wonderful time with my talented team and our fabulous crew!

  10. We always wonder about that poor woman living in the box at in the elevator who continually has to say 'doors closing', then 'doors opening' as someone else steps in, then 'doors closing' . I've actually apologized to her. 🙂
  11. They are quarantining, but a lot of people aren’t reporting their symptoms and just carrying on. 😔

  14. The volume thing was a problem on all the ships I’ve been on since the restart. I have no idea why they think it’s a good thing. What was that about temperature checks onboard?
  15. And we finally heard him about 10 days into the cruise - he had Covid and was in isolation.

  18. Baltimore seems to be strict. They pull our wine out of the bag and examine it. Not sure what they are looking for. They are looking to see if it’s still sealed. 😎
  19. Service has improved, but still not the best. 😎 We have requested our original table from last week, for the next leg. She’s already come to say hi to us and ask us back. ❤️
  20. We actually didn’t notice that until the second night. 🤣. There are so many little things involved in good service that go unnoticed. 💖
  21. Situation that is new to me - really bad service in the MDR. Our team, as far as I can tell, have four tables. My 6-top has only four of us; the 6-top next to us has one two. But the other two tables look to be 10 tops, full. They seem to all be first-time cruisers being led by a man who shuttled between the tables the first night explaining the menu, in Dutch (??). None speak English. They are ordering wine for the table, have special requests, call the waiter over to explain. These two waiters are simply overwhelmed and we are getting the crap end of it. Our tablemates said tonight they are done,, they will be eating elsewhere - his iced tea arrived after appetizers, entrées were lukewarm, our table was never properly served: no soup spoons brought for appetizers, no crumb scraper. 😔 So I’m pretty tolerant and don’t want to jeopardize any one’s job, but should this be reported to the head waiter or maitre’d? These people need help. Suggestions?

  23. Nope, but I’ll ask around. For the Crossing, our Deck 2 OV guarantee got requisitioned for Covid quarantine and the gave us a spacious balcony instead, so that’s good.
