  1. Can’t tell you how the inside cabins compare as we do balcony one. I think they are all very similar. I’m sure someone else can answer that. freedom dining on iona. Britannia I believe still has both freedom and club. there was 1 formal night in a week on iona. I think Britannia has 2 per week (did when we went April ‘22) Yes you can take alcohol on board. I only know cos lots ask that question. I just take Coca Cola. I liked virtuosa for the ship (apart from there’s no lounges and I like a lounge or two) I prefer how p&o operate though with the embark and disembark. Also we couldn’t get dining at all on virtuosa so I got a bit fed up of the buffet. theatre is best to book in advance. The dining room on iona you can just join a queue. Never had issues but we have always gone in term time. I prefer p&o to msc. Unless msc want to give me a really good deal. I also spend less on drinks on p&o too.
  2. On iona in April it told us to contact reception if we wanted to get off ourselves we think we are going to next time as I’m sick of waiting around. Only thing was the lifts were busy and we wouldn’t be able to do 4 big cases without a lift
  3. Three out of four have been applied for me. dec 23, feb 24 and March 25 but not dec 24 😂 I would have thought it was the later one that hadn’t been up dated. I’ve made £34 profit on the share price and got £420 obc so I haven’t broken even yet.
  4. don’t have to pay for the kids though if we both got a package (I think?) so that’s like three coffees in the morning two fancy candyfloss cocktails in the afternoon and three glasses of wine in the evening. Plus a few drinks for the kids. drinks packages are all subjective and work for some. would never work for us as I don’t like alcohol and I’m too tight also
  5. yes I thought it was weird but I was sure I had seen it in the horizon paper but I’d thrown it in the bin. Was a bit miffed cos the mother in law was in stupid flip flops trying to walk there. It’s not a port I would want to visit again.
  6. there will be people that can easily do £45 per day but it definitely wouldn’t be us.
  7. The plates are damn hot. Hubby can manage but I can not. I had to use my sleeve the other week just to transfer it onto the tray. Good job my cardigan was clean. Also I go round with two plates. My kids don’t carry their own, I ask them what they want and plate it for them. Or sometimes they sit at the table while I get it for them. looks like ill be asking for trays.
  8. Haugesund- I’d like to know if there was a shuttle bus there as I paid select fare and there was a bus but they kept telling me that it was chargeable in NOK and that I don’t get it included. I ended up walking
  9. Iona had them in the cabin and I saw some in the bathrooms. Dunno which ones. but yes that would be awful to have to ask
  10. we went into Rotterdam last time-was ok.
  11. Thanks. It’s just so I know if to book a hotel room or not.
  12. Two things If I stay overnight in Amsterdam are they going to be bothered or worried etc? Are the doors open all the time from morning of day one then closing afternoon day 2? like if I come home at 3am are they going to be open to let me on
  13. Have you not all heard of chicken pox parties? Used to be a thing cos it’s better if you get them when you are little rather than older.
  14. well I sent off 4 reference numbers for dec 23, feb 24, dec 24 and March 25. I had 3 emails saying it’s been applied and last one saying not able to do it yet which is fine I mean I knew I was being cheeky trying to do it all in one go. it says that I will get an email with the updated invoice but I haven’t received that yet. I’ll wait a few days then check up on it. I think we now have enough obc for the next two cruises that we might not need any more money. We don’t tend to spend a lot.
  15. Thank you for providing details of your Carnival Share holdings, however, we are currently not able to apply the benefits for cruises which sail past 31st July 2024. This is because we are waiting for the next Annual Report to be published which will confirm the benefit values.
  16. Would never even look on there
  17. Well I was annoyed when I tried to book. I wanted fjords in May. I went on for the balcony cabin and it said £1788 for saver or £1888 select. Went to press secure and then the price jumped to £3146. luckily we have at least got a good deal in easter holidays now I’m just going to wait to see if I can find any better ones but since we need to stick to school holidays this time or at least wait till after sats.
  18. Not much would stop me from Disney after 4 year of waiting
  19. I know but we were talking about this with the kids and they have now been on more abroad holidays by the time they are 8&7 than both me and my husband ever did with our parents. Suppose it’s just a different generation and I keep thinking of doing a caravan in Cornwall but the prices now are similar to a cruise! think covid made me decide to do things now while we can
  20. I know. We have quite a few holidays to look forward to in the next two year and we have had a very lot of cruises and holidays in the last year but can’t seem to have enough
  21. Ah. I only have two 14nights and two 7 nights. So £420 for me. Never done cunard
  22. You must have long cruises booked. more than broke even though
  23. Feel poorly after coming back from the cruise. Hubby started on the last day and now I am. Feels like a head cold. Typical
  24. School holidays for us is an extra £1000 so I’m just going to pay the fine. we have one in December 24 but that has to be the only one we take them out of that year. Scarlett is doing sats so having to make sure I play it right. The week we go they usually only do Christmas plays and not much and we got a really good deal for two weeks in easter holidays as our Easter holidays seem to fall slightly different in 2025 i want the fjords in May 25 but I’ve had a tizzy over that. when I go online to book it gives me £1888 then when I go to secure it jumps to £3146! And I’m not paying that. Also I don’t think you can get fined until after their 5th birthday fyi
