Dining is an area where a cruise line can really screw things up. This topic is just one of many that speaks to the importance of food on a cruise. I hope that Celebrity doesn't cheapen its product to the point where folks go elsewhere. Folks buy based on their most recent experience, brand loyalty is fickle when you disrespect your passengers.

Awful State of Ocean View Cafe for dinner
Bill Miller replied to Arubamoose's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I just hope any cutbacks do not affect beverage cooler temps. Warm beer in the Caribbean, this could be a disaster. -
What would make you stop cruising on Celebrity?

Sailed as a Merchant Seaman for years. If you really want to irritate the Chief Engineer, Asst. Chief, watch engineer, oiler. Corn! I brought a large can aboard once as a joke and handed it to the cook and the watch engineer chased me around the galley using swear words only a sailor could love.

The Celebrity Website, the gift of incompetence that keeps on giving. Hotels, airlines, car rental companies web sites manage to give customers a fair experience despite constantly changing prices and inventory availability. Celebrity.. "If your not going crazy , wait a couple of clicks." And Bonus... "If you've paid for your cruise in full, Celebrity IT Department will throw in some extra charges on your online account just to drive you teeth gnashing crazy." Of course Customer Service will straighten this out eventually, but imagine the fun of tossing and turning, sleepless as you admire the incompetence of a cruise line that promotes itself as a luxury option. for your hassle free vacation.

Beyond creaking and knocking and slamming oh my!
Bill Miller replied to RobertoF's topic in Celebrity Cruises
NutsaboutGolf said, "It is the the first lengthened ship in the class, though" Sorry Nuts, it's unacceptable. I'm sure you wouldn't put up with this poor shipfitting on an expensive 7 night cruise, just because they added some length. It's okay to criticize Celebrity when they fail to deliver a premium product. -

Beyond creaking and knocking and slamming oh my!
Bill Miller replied to RobertoF's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Holy mackerel. Shocking, this noise issue isn't a simple one off. This isn't the first ship in its class. Passengers are experiencing this in several cabins. Cruise passage on this newest ship are going for premium price. Wow! As cinema detective Charlie Chan used to say, "Some Ting Wong!" -
Starlink on Beyond, a disappointment.
Bill Miller replied to Dk-cruiser's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I'm so old, I remember in Cozumel going to Tomaine Tony's Tacos (warm beer, lousy service and free wifi) to glom onto a few free minutes to check the race results at Tampa Bay Downs horse track. I think Covid or the Mexican Health Dept finally closed Tony's but he always had sort of fast wifi. -
Geez, and I thought Death by a thousand cuts was another rant on the Celebrity IT department.

1st time on Celebrity - I have Sum(mit) questions
Bill Miller replied to LuckyMax's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Your going to have a fabulous time. Great time to get out of the northeast for some well deserved sun. I love the Summit and have never been disappointed. (except when they made us get off when we returned to Miami.) -
By when do I need to purchase insurance?
Bill Miller replied to TravelingCircusof5's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We have an annual trip insurance policy with Allianz. We''ve had it for several years. Way cheaper than buying individual trip cancellation through cruise lines if you travel often. Earlier this month, cruise .sails on Sunday. She is walking the dog on Saturday, Dog sees ducks, wife gets yanked off her feet breaks hip. The next day while we are supposed to check-in she is getting total hip replacement. Allianz covered cruise and parking, no problem. Wife is doing great, getting around and healing up very well. (side note to husbands) Fellas, it's really important to keep your wives spirit up and encourage her when they are feeling down. For example, I know my wife really appreciates it when I encourage her to keep moving with the walker. "Hey those dishes piling up in the sink aren't going to wash themselves." The hip replacement hasn't affected her aim with the frying pan and I expect to be out of the hospital soon. -
