  1. Your right. This is an assumption on my part. After seeing the Youtube videos of flooding, five foot or more in places, I feel a port visit would be unsafe and unsanitary. Belize has a sanitary water treatment plant and they also have a lot of septic tanks. In sunny Florida bad weather can overwhelm our modern sewage treatment plants. The result is sewage being released into flood waters. And in this heat your going to have mold. Would you want to visit in the middle of this clean up? They are having great success with getting the electric back on. Unfortunately, many appliances like refrigerators and freezers that have electric motors may be damaged. As flood waters recede back into the Caribbean sea they carry derbies and possible fecal contamination. You'll need to let the waters clear up before you swim in it. Here is a short list of scheduled cruise ships due. Friday, 11/4; Mein Schiff; Tuesday 11/8 Celebrity Infinity and Constellation; Wednesday 9/9 Serenade of the Seas, Carnival Vista; Thursday 9/10 Carnival Glory. Do you think Belize will be ready to host these ships so soon after the storm? I'm scheduled to be on the Constellation for next Tuesdays Belize port stop. I'll let you know how it goes. I expect they will change ports or have a sea day.
  2. Infrastructure damage from Hurricane Lisa will close Belize for awhile. Where should Celebrity substitute as an alternative? Grand Cayman? Key West? Bahamas?
  3. Good looking crew at the Cruise Critic luncheon. Kudos to the members organizing this event.
  4. Wow, "The Big Red Boat," Premier Cruise Lines, headquartered in Cape Canaveral when they were operating. You've been out of the embarcation line for awhile. Which cruise ship or ships did you sail with on Premier? You will love Celebrity. We are all older now, but you'll be treated like the cool cruiser you are on Celebrity. Welcome aboard. If you like the shorter cruises, the Summit out of Miami is most excellent.
  5. Most awesome. Regardless of your age or music taste, this is a fun event. Dance like no one is watching! You deserve to rock. You can do this.
  6. I'm pretty sure it's going to be one side or the other.
  7. The only thing missing from this transatlantic report is Elvis sightings. Sounds like a fabulous cruise, wish I were with you all. Wishing you fair winds and calm seas in the coming days.
  8. Call me Mister Big Spender, but for a couple of bucks you can get the plastic luggage tag holders from Amazon specifically designed for Celebrity luggage tags. Saves a lot of drama if you drop bags off before parking.
  9. 9133 on Nov 6 Constellation. Close to elevators or stairs. Love the overhang. Never had a problem with noise. Blu, always delightful. Half the fun is the interesting folks you meet on a Celebrity cruise.
  10. Remember, $50 on Red and “Laissez les bon temps rouler”
  11. I hang by the pool bar, dark sunglasses, performing a voluntary safety watch on the pool area. I always generously tip the pool bar crew and the hamburger/hot dog counter guys. As I approach, they're quick to respond with a cold beverage. This also works at the Sunset Bar. Tip generously, excellent service. Safety first.
  12. Celebrity delivers excellent value at a decent price. Sailed with CANDERSON last Nov 7 on Constellation from Tampa. Hearing you're on the Constellation transatlantic this month. We'll board after you disembark. Any in transit reports appreciated. Fair winds and following seas on your transatlantic.
  13. I'm multicultural. Sometimes I'm feeling Italian with Peroni, maybe Jamaican with Red Stripe, Belikin in Belize and sometimes a salute to Mexico with Corona.
  14. Royal Caribbean is dropping its printed daily activity sheet in favor of an electronic delivery through the Royal Caribbean app. You'll also be able to access this information on electronic signs through out the ship. This is part of Royals effort to go green, but it's also a money saver in paper and printing. We can expect Celebrity to follow this plan. The Celebrity app is already there for the most part. What do you think? Do you like having the daily activity printed sheet in your hands to plan the next days activities or are you cool with the strictly Celebrity app version on your cell phone?
  15. I've been accused of being pickled, but not in the usage referring to this sporting game. My knees rebelled years ago. The sport is the rage here in Florida among my contemporaries of retirement age. I recommend that Celebrity consider having it onboard.
  16. Sounds like a great cruise. I'm jealous. Keep us informed and let us know how your cruise goes.
  17. I share your pain with the twist off water lids. I was able to do a work around with Red Stripe and Corona at the pool bar. Bon Voyage!
  18. Ooops sorry. Not my Sea Pass Card. That's the wrong photo.
  19. First, give yourself 2 thumbs up for booking Celebrity. Oceanview buffet or the Mast Grill are easy choices after the hassle of travel and boarding. Sunset Bar on the stern of the ship is a great diversion with live music as you wait to get underway with your most fabulous cruise. You don't have to drink Martinis to enjoy the Martini Bar, they serve all beverages. The show the barmen put on is highly entertaining, Bon Voyage!
  20. I hope the Ocean View buffet has roast turkey today.
  21. To be snarky or hateful, but the first three letters of concierge are con.
