  1. This is just turning ridiculous. Draconian restrictions - lol. Most of the other counties eased restrictions much earlier than the US. We just traveled all over Europe this summer and there aren’t any restrictions anywhere. The only slight issue was flying back to the US (which you claim has none ) until they followed suit months later.
  2. Where do I get my information ? On October 11th (the day after this post originated and everyone chimed in ) the low was 38.84. Now less than 3 weeks later it is 52.67. That’s actually more than a 35% gain. So your 17% isn’t even close. Secondly the response was to this post from 3 weeks ago when everyone was talking about how scary this stock was etc etc etc. Point is simple - anyone claiming that RCL is not a good stock (on Oct 10th) , is looking really bad right now. See link below for price details and let me know if you need help with the math. https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/RCL/history/
  3. I’ll check back in here in another month and we will see how much more money you missed out on.
  4. Lol clearly it hasn’t sunk and almost every credible analyst rates RCL as a strong buy or buy with few holds and almost nobody a sell, except for people on these boards for some reason. Nobody is talking about day trading and long term outlook is very strong. RCL newest ship just sold out in 6 hrs. This isn’t even really debatable. Look at the market trend of the stock, the facts and reality completely contradict what you are suggesting.
  5. Who cares ? Investors are making money on them and 25% in the past month is enormous. Sorry you missed the boat. No pun intended.
  6. Red light district is a must see and day trips to Zaanse Schans and Edam are very nice and easy also. Anne frank obviously but you already have your tickets for that.
  7. Clearly that is not the case since RCL stock is up over 25% in the past 30 days. Lots of people missed the mark on this thread
  8. Singer Palace near Pantheon. Top notch hotel, with rooftop restaurant in the absolute perfect location.
  9. Yep we were 50/50 between ours and banks. I liked how the Banks offered drinks and snacks all day long which ours did not. Im sure that was a nice perk
  10. The roads are like two lane airport roads. It literally takes 30 seconds to cross all 4 and there is a crosswalk. It will not take anyone longer than 90 seconds to get to the pickup spot from the airport doors. Here is a pic from above of the roads. Just find the crosswalk in the picture and that’s all there is to it
  11. Lots of people like to recommend staying near the cruise port but there really isnt any point to that. The cruise port area is not very attractive and your view out your window might be of a warehouse or overlooking the train station. Amsterdam is so small also that you can get from any hotel to the port very quickly. You without a doubt want to stay somewhere more scenic in Amsterdam so you get a feel for the city, preferably overlooking one of the canals. We stayed at the Ambassade which was terrific and the location couldn't have been better. Its a boutique hotel overlooking the herengracht canal which is deemed by locals as the prettiest canal in the city. Breakfast served every morning in the restaurant overlooking the canal. Uber from here to the cruise port was 9 dollars. We were there for 3 nights and were able to walk everywhere. 10 minute walk to Anne Frank house, 10 minute walk to Red light, 10 minute walk to museums. We were torn between this and the Banks mansion which looked really nice as well. Just dont stay near the cruise port, it has a totally different feel in that area. Ps - we flew into AMS in late July and were off the plane, through customs, retrieved both of our checked bags and in an Uber in less than 20 minutes. It couldnt have been any smoother.
  12. No problem and hopefully the airport situation is a little better by the time you go. Have a great trip
  13. Yeah , just click the clock that is circled in screenshot below and change to the date and time to 6:30am. I did this for an AMS ride tomorrow at 6:30 am and price goes up a little to 43 for this option which is still cheaper than taxi.
  14. I did this from movenpick which is right next door to the port. 31 bucks
  15. We agree with a lot of what you said. I think that is why we like cruising so much because many cities across the world , we would be happy with seeing for a day. The big cities though like Paris , London , Rome , St P etc definitely all need at least 3 days to truly appreciate. Places like Rome , although a big city , never really had the big city urban feel for us and probably along with St Petersburg and Amsterdam are among our favorite big cities. Paris is still a memorable place with great restaurants and many things to do. We enjoyed our time just walking along the seine , Versailles was something to see , we aren’t really museum people but enjoyed the Louve for an afternoon , montmarte and I personally as a sports fan loved watching a match at Roland Garros but Paris compared to some others didn’t have that magical feel for us. I wish I could explain it better. Maybe it’s the size as well. I think that’s a part of why Rome and Amsterdam are so high because you can walk many places + we found the Italian and Dutch people much more friendly.
  16. Absolutely. Not only cheaper but more convenient as well. Open the Uber app now from home and change the pickup spot to your Amsterdam hotel and enter AMS as the destination and it will tell you the wait time and price.
  17. We have travelled all over the world as well and Paris wouldn’t be high on the list. New York City would probably be at the very bottom of the list, along with DC. . I think for us Paris is too much like New York City (although Paris is safer, classier and much for beautiful than New York City ). Both big cities though with a big city feel. Police and ambulance sirens ringing through the night constantly , always having to be on the lookout in the metro, bums sleeping on every street corner etc. we. Give us somewhere like Amsterdam , Venice , any city in Ireland or the Greek Isles any day of the week over Paris. I guess we prefer places with a little more charm.
  18. What is the point of calling in to upgrade ? Is the pricing better than just doing it on board when you buy your first drink ? It takes a whole 5 seconds on board to do that so trying to understand the benefit here of sitting on the phone.
  19. We never waited for more than 5 minutes on a 12 night cruise. You definitely don't need reservations We were sailing with 2600/3200 pax though I suppose it could be a little different if there are closer to 3200 passengers The only time there could be a wait would be night 1
  20. Checking shipboard account and the daily itinerary is the best feature of the app
  21. You dont need reservations at all. We have sailed Apex twice and Edge twice and have never made a reservation and have never waited longer than 5 minutes for a table. Most of the time its walk in and we like to eat at each restaurant several times. Reservations only limit your flexibility. PS tip - Once you have eaten at all of them once, just pick the restaurant without a line or wait and go there as you can order any of the exclusive menu items from any restaurant. Example - if you like the Brie Cheese appetizer from Normandy, you can order that at Tuscan, Cosmo or Cypress even though its exclusive to Normandy. PPS tip - Even if you dont have Select (and have early or late) , you can still go whenever you want.
  22. Schiphol is very relaxed. We just flew there 2 weeks ago and didn't even have to show vaccine cards. They looked at our passports for 3 seconds, asked zero questions, stamped it and were on our way to baggage claim hoping our luggage was there. Customs line there was 5-10 minutes
  23. Definitely Paris on your own if you are fairly active and mobile. If I was only in Paris as a day trip from Lehavre and hadn’t been there, I would first and foremost book one of the 1 hour Seine cruises from one of the reputable companies. They run all day and are only like 15 euro and give a great overview and viewpoint of many of the big attractions. After that just walk around the seine, across the bridges, walk around the louve etc. The metro system makes it very easy to get around as well.
