  1. What a runaround. ☹️ GOC seems to have real issues translating policy into action at the moment. Personally I wouldn't worry too much about leaving the house. I'd use a home test and if it was negative would continue with my life.
  2. I never trust robo calls. When in doubt I lookup the appropriate agency contact number and call to verify. It may mean some time on hold, but it shows good faith should there ever be a problem.
  3. Its disappointing to learn that CBP officers are afraid of vetted Canadians seeking faster entry into their country.
  4. I remember Port Canaveral because it is on Cape Canaveral where NASA missions are launched, i.e. the rocket place. 🙂 (I'm a bit of a space enthusiast.)
  5. Vast overstatement. https://esim.holafly.com/how-to/esim-phones/
  6. Port Everglades is the port facility serving Fort Lauderdale, https://www.porteverglades.net/cruise/. Port Canaveral is east of Orlando, https://www.portcanaveral.com/Cruise/Port-Cruise-Facts.
  7. #3 sticky https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2760116-how-to-change-your-cruise-critic-email-address-or-user-name/?do=getNewComment
  8. It amazes me how many more complaints I see about using ArriveCAN compared to cruise line on-line check-ins. 🙂
  9. 1. Either, any time within 72 hours of scheduled departure. 2. It is possible to delete a trip, simply log back in and select delete. 3. The port address or hotel where she is staying in Montreal would, I think be more appropriate. She won't be travelling I suspect if she tested positive on the cruise.
  10. It may depend on the cruise line. If a cruise ends outside of Canada and does not leave and then re-enter Canada I believe GOC has no requirement to make an ArriveCAN submission. However, there has been at least one post on this board indicating that Viking, (if I recall correctly), requires a submission.
  11. Where did you find the 48hr limit? I ask because on https://www.msccruises.ca/health-and-safety-measures/caribbean it says 2 days for Canadian residents on Caribbean itineraries. The difference is significant in your case.
  12. 🙂 Cruise ship passengers must present proof of ArriveCAN submission to board. Yes. Sign in to app. Select Traveller on the toolbar at the bottom. Select the traveller to be updated. Tap Next until you get to the upload screen.
  13. Indeed. Swap the countries and currency, your comment holds true.
  14. 🤣 Most banks would sell them CA$100 for US$78.
  15. Don't be surprised if cash is not accepted in some retail locations.
  16. Makes me wonder if there should be QR scanners the people have to use before entry. That way they know the work done to complete ArriveCAN is being used. Apparently many think if they don't see it with own eyes, it isn't happening.
  17. Waste water is good for local conditions. It does little to inform of new variant sources.
  18. If you have ignored one user signature, from the menu under the blue tool bar select Account | Ignored users. Find the user and reset the ignore signature setting. If you elected to ignore all users tap / click https://boards.cruisecritic.com/settings/signature/ and toggle on view signatures.
  19. I don't understand all the hand-wringing. Presumably those selected for testing that have a connecting flight will be given a self swab kit as described at https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/covid-vaccinated-travellers-entering-canada#arrival.
  20. Those selected do not have to wait for results before continuing their journey. See https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/covid-vaccinated-travellers-entering-canada#arrival
